First Lady Christine Kaseba says President Michael Sata is committed to ensuring that rural development is enhanced.

Dr. Kaseba said the President has always stressed that there can be no meaningful development without the development of chiefdoms.

The First Lady said this in Kalomo District when she paid a courtesy call on Chief Chikanta of Kalomo district of Southern Province.

The First Lady is in the district to launch a pilot project to train and sensitise traditional leaders on Gender Based Violence.

Dr. Kaseba said government identified Chikanta Chiefdom for the training programme because the chief is a champion in the fight against GBV.

She thanked the chief for having progressive ideas and a positive attitude in the programme that will go a ,long way in sensitizing the traditional leadership.

And Chief Chikanta of the Tonga speaking people of Kalomo District thanked government for initiating the training programme.

Chief Chikanta said his role is to support the government of the day and ensure that its policies are implemented.

He said it was the first time such a programme was taking place in his chiefdom and has since called on his Indunas and headmen to embrace the programme.

Chief Chikanta said as a chief he has served under four presidents for the past 18 years and none of them had ever visited his chiefdom.

He said it is good that the Patriotic Front government is delivering on its promises and is fulfilling its campaign promises.

Chief Chikanta said he is happy that the Patriotic Front government is reaching out to its people and bringing development as close as possible.

  1. Madam Doctor C. Sata Kaseba. What do u mean by saying your husband is committed to developing rural areas…? It’s not a wise thing to personalize our president coz we don’t care who your husband is all care is to national development and not specific rural areas which your husband would be interested In developing..

    • Christine Kaseba has added her voice and made the development vision of HE MC Sata abundantly clear.

There is enough proof to that effect looking at how the rural areas are being opened up

Those that have chosen not to see this can hang

    • For the first time that Ba Muka Yama has called Chilufya as husband. Congratulations, I can understand how painful it can be to accept that man. Submit to your man… not only ku kati.

    • Well in that case maam I shall vote for him so continues with his development

What a visionary president Mr Sata is.

Thank you for the update Maam

He is our choice for a president and we shall give him time so he finishes this until 2021

      Thanks

    • Its Just an excuse because nothing can be seen. If at all the husband was developing rural areas, what’s the stand out in Litunga’s Barotseland and Henry Sosala Kanyanta in Northern province?
Rural areas? UTH has no nurses due to unsubstantiated firing of these backbones for patients. The Dollar is downing the Kwacha to Dusk. The people are now lambasting in anguish and singing for the new Constitution. There is no production in the country, bloated gov’t without vision but only wiser to their own bellies.
Dr Kaseba, the problem is your husband, he does not heed to advice and look, Masebo on the other side, has confessed to breaching the constitution with impunity because of thy husband.
When will he address the nation and implement this incubated constitution? Its time it hatched!

    • And will she pay a courtesy to The Litunga and Henry Sosala? Screaming from the south side and only echoing in eastern, what about the west coast and northern? They are not even shocked at their never ending excuses. On the constitution its excuses, economy, agriculture, housing and health, it’s denial day in, day out.
Which development when Mr Munkombwe confessed of being in politics only to chew for his belly? The kwacha is in the dark ages, all they do is imaginations of development, all talk, talk, talk and more talking words, no action with PF.
If they have action, where is the the constitution? They are hiding behind the word “development” to deceive the poor. I’m sure the people have learnt from these scam bags and will vote wisely next time around.

  2. FL you always have difficulties on wht to wear for what occasion you going to especially weekend ones. Even Sata qualifies to be called husband?? Just asking

  3. But it’s also true that this husband of yours is a vindictive and malicious person who enjoys intimidating and tormenting simple rural people like bashi Lubemba, for example. How could he develop rural areas when he has managed to antagonise the very pillars on which rural people depend, their chiefs and headmen? Whatever you say and you have every right to express your opinion, the fact remains that your husband has conveyed to all of us he has no respect for any one, not even his own officials. He is seen as a bully and a dictator who has no interest of the common man at his heart. Getting to state house at any cost was his sole ambition. He got there via a bewildering array of lies that could only be appreciated by the devil. The rest is history.

  4. Maybe she used husband to personalise him from rivals like the Mpundu sisters who also have a claim on the president.

  5. Well only bush products can’t appreciate what Sata is doing. Infrastructure, roads, schools , universities and hospitals. In two years . Well done PF

    • You mean well done MMD! All those projects were from their time in Government.

Will you still be saying well done PF when they are out of power and we have to pay back all the money they borrowed? For Satas personal hospital in State House? And his by- elections? And his renamed airports? And his new districts? And his pay increases for himself? and the illegal and unconstitutional money handout to his wife?

I dont see any new infrastructure, roads, schools , universities and hospitals!

Just fired nurses and people dying at UTH.

  6. Spot on ! Probably the best first lady in Africa.Christine is dope ! I hope i will marry a woman as hardworking as her.Talk about beauty and brains. She rocks !

    • @ Saulosi, be careful on selecting a wife, Kaseba is expensive, its had to fight shoes size 12′ for women.

    • @Chimbwi…which attributes are those ?@Nostradamus….boi kuti nakwanisha a Kaseba type of woman afterall twalyendapo twikala kubulaya boi.Such ladies boi cannot be a burden but a blessing because she can be complementing you as a husband emotionally, spiritually, socially, academically, morally and financially.Boi muka yama patali

    • Even romantically boi tawamwene picture ilya iya Christmas ninshi yama balemutomona ? Yama alipalwa apa pena nalimupela ukuboko.

    • @ Saulosi
The attributes you quote: “spiritually, socially, academically, morally” are not in the thesaurus of our dear leader(s)

  7. madam 1st lady kudos, job well done ever since you went to state house. congratulations on the accolades you continue to receive for your good works from the international community. they must increase monthly budget to K5m for office of the 1st lady. what a good leader we have in sata. mr president till 2021 you have our support. for if we allow power to go to the southerners, we’ll never get it back?

  8. Madam Christine Kaseba is hard working. let us all support her noble work regardless of one, s political affiliation.Keep it up first lady and may the good lord give you blessings and add to your life more days

    • What is your definition of “hard working” don’t you know that she has illegally been allocated a budget to play with by her husband.
      Wake up! !

    • She’s certainly working hard for her relatives. The whole clan is surviving on taxpayers’ money as they are all in government jobs they are not qualified for. She is a selfish , corrupt and unashamed Queen of Nepotism!

    • The sycophants want your attention to be diverted from the rot Sata is inflicting on Zambia! The praise singing will increase as the situation worsens. This was the playbook under Kaunda and it is certainly the same for his disciple.

  9. Dr. you may say so but that development we hear always is one sided. Come to Northwestern province and point out two initiation programs done under your husband. If the main road is dumped what about feeder roads in the rural areas? It is pathetic. We celebrate because you are a mother but the president is a regionalist.

  10. This voting is rigged in advavce. Any time you agree with govt and give it one vote, the anti govt vote immediately doubles. Observe.

  11. With all due respect Madam Sata, your husband has not demonstrated any seriousness. He kees appointing incompetents whose only qualification is tribal or his and your family relations. We have seen your family forest benefit to unbelievable levels. Yes it’s ok to fit in a few loved ones here and there but you have reached a disgusting level f nepotism that demnstrates how lightly your husband our President takes his resonsibility. Talk is cheap.

  12. Whenabrown envelope for an impoverished chief mean development for the poor, Zambia! cry my beloved country.

    • When a brown envelope sent to an impoverished chief means development for the poor,.. Zambia! cry my beloved country.

  13. Is that why he has failed to ensure that farmers receive farming inputs on time and that they receive payments on time for the maize they have sweated to produce? Why does he not take a leaf out of Uhuru Kenyatta’s book and donate 50% of his hefty salary to rural schools?

  14. It is only natural for people who directly chop(eat) from the current regime to worship Mr Sata. Next we shall chop from HH. MMD and UNIP have had their moments.

  15. Are you sure that this woman is sincere in calling Sata her husband? May be Secretary to the Cabinet Msiska knows better how State House functions! Your guess is as good as mine!

  16. Zambia needs a hero/heroin to save it not a husband or a wife to claim to champion the cause of the great nation.

  17. If you are smart like, you always try to potray here. Go to zambia and solve the problem than bark here, all the time like rabid dogs without providing answers. We are fed up of you arm chair critics withno clue.

  18. Merely expressing an opinion which am entitled to and no one can do nothing about it. WWW remains a forum for expression of opinions, learning, informing and being informed so sodoff if you think otherwise.

  19. Ama Zambians too lazy to do anything ,but too good in critising everybody. Alot of you in diaspora ,where I am have nothing to show back home. You behave like being in UK or indeed anywhere abroad means, you are better off than people at home. Far from the truth, I have observed keenly here the so called UK, USA and elsewhere. Most of you don’t work and depend on govt benefits and when online pretend to be doing fine and yet you are dying in poverty in uk. How can someone blog 24/7, 365 day every second and minute? Just know that person lilofwa in the so called diaspora. Come home and see how hard, zambians and govt are working. Don’t critise from outside zambia, unless you are an ***** you depend on false news. Zambians are happy people and don’t need your cheap dollar and pound…

    • @Kapoma Kabaso. This just shows how ignorant AND obsessed you are about the people in Diaspora!! At that rate, you might even get a heart attack or mental breakdown because of your Envy, Bitterness and Jelous about Zambians in the Diaspora.
For your own information, Zambians do not qualify for benefits and do not get benefits while in the UK. The British Government is not that generous to be giving benefits to Foreigners. So Zambians like other Foreigners have to work for their living and even send their little savings to their relatives in Zambia.
As an adult you are setting such a bad example by telling BLUE lies!! Log and visit the UK Border Agency (immigration) website and you see that the benefits you talking about is nothing but loads of RU.BB.ISH like yourself!

    • Which rural areas? Muchinga does not represent the whole Zambia. After killing the Agriculture sector on which the rural economy is based you want to cheat that you’re concentrating on rural areas. Liars!

    • @goncave you should have heard the chief speak for himself, the agric sector is my area don’t even go there because even currently FRA is in talks with its ministry to offload excess maize grain in its warehouses in view of the bumper harvest,it’s thus shocking to hear sentiments on agric such as yours, stop being negative at every opportunity.PF just needs some adjustments they are otherwise on track.

  20. In two years PF have exhausted the treasury and created huge nkongole. Eat now, you will answer tomorrow.

  21. This is not news. It is expected that Christine Kaseba would say this about her husband. She wants to continue as First Lady so that taxpayers continue funding her globe trotting hobby and enable her to continue receiving those “awards”.

  22. I am better roaming freely as a bushman than my cousins suffering under satanic zombie of Zambia. Better Bush than Zombieland!

    • Don’t lie you want create a situation out of control, here in Livingstone every where you look is a project towards completion.Talk about success also.ni ya bwanji?

  23. Iwe chilyata don’t expose your ignorance here that, the UK govt don’t give benefits to foreigners. It depends on your status. I am saying this because, I have lived here long enough, the problem is you and others are painting a wrong picture on what is really obtaining on the ground. I personally know alot of Zambians who are on benefits here and always shouting at the zambian govt back home and belittling everyone who is in zambia as if they live in heaven. Come down to Earth and be your true selves than foolishly boasting, here when in actual fact you may be a loafer just making alot of noise and seeking attention.

  24. dr dont forget that the money you are wasting was given to u unconstitutional and when time comes you shall be answerable dont fool pipo like guy scott and his wife in katuba your hasbant lost miserabley
