United Party for National Development Lusaka Provincial Chair lady Wendy Mulenga says it is high time that stakeholders calling for the release draft constitution implemented actions as it has become abundantly clear that the PF will not listen to the calls without actions.

Speaking in an interview Ms. Mulenga said stakeholders have literally bagged the PF government to release the document they themselves promised to give of Zambia but all the calls seem to be falling on deaf ears.

She said with way things stand the PF government will not give the people of Zambia their much needed constitution without a fight hence for the need to implement actions which will force government to release the constitution.

“As UPND women from Lusaka province we are worried about the docility of the Zambian people as regards the constitution making process. We have had these meetings of the Grand Coalition which consist of various stakeholders but from all these meetings we wonder what we have achieved from the time we started.

“We think the journey has reached a critical stage and we are in a jubilee year and we can’t be celebrating 50 years of independence without a good constitution so what we are saying is these are desperate times and desperate times call for desperate actions.

“We need to act now, if it means grounding the country to halt let’s do that. We have about 32 unions in the Grand Coalition let them go on work stoppage in demanding for the constitution, let our youths from all political parties go on the streets and demonstrate so that these people in government know that we are serious with our demands,” said Ms. Mulenga.

    • Its within your rights to demand a constitution but PF has not refused or cancelled the constitution making process. Just like you have acknowledged yourself (Ms. Mulenga) that PF promised Zambians….. the process is already underway

Be reminded also that the constitution is not an opposition document but a document for all Zambians

    • Are they the same prostitutes that set dogs on boyfriends, if they can’t care and love their boyfriends/Man friends how can they care and love the constitution. Anyway that is the quality of UPND women.
      Thanks

    • UPND is not going anywhere and I can assure you that it will only win 1 seat out of the 5 available in next week’s bye election. UPND will lose future national elections mainly because HH does not appeal to the masses. Despite an additional 1.2 million new voters who came on board prior to the recent national election of 2011,HH only managed to get 45,000 votes in Lusaka which was way far behind the 79,000 votes Anderson Mazoka amassed in the same province 13 years ago during the 2001 national election. HH is simply not popular.

  1. UPND and other opposition political parties should use the constitution as a party campaign issue. They should invest in an intensive education of the people on the social and economic importance of having a constitution that promotes democracy, good governance and separation of powers. Ruling parties (MMD and PF) have misguided voters by telling them that the new constitution will “not put food on people’s tables”. Well meaning Zambians know that this is not true. Tax payers’ money spent on producing a good constitution will save the nation billions of Kwacha spent on unnecessary by-elections, poor governance (abuse of office, corruption, stealing, protection law breakers – due to loopholes in our laws).

  2. It has to take a Bemba person within the ranks of UPND to steer up this campaign. What’s wrong with this bunch of Tongas? They are so docile. My only advice to UPND is to rent and hire more Bembas to do the job otherwise HH and his party will be opposition for life. Mind you after 2016, HH will no longer be called under-five but a dinosaur. Age is catching up with him and it will be too difficult to carry on with his political crusade.

    • Yes you are a useless PF Cadre. By the way, you are needed in Eastern Province where you have made a pact with MMD to beat up UPND members. They are waiting for you sir. Kabimba has renounced violence.

    • He will almost be aged 60. And at 60, would someone be a younger man??? And in 2021, he will be aged 62 and too late to be a vibrate and energetic presido. Mind you Wynter Kabimba has NOT actually be fired, but he has been reserved for either 2016 or 2021 by Micheal because he saw a danger in keeping Wynter in the fierce political arena now. He is been actually shelved for some future presidential elections. So wake up people!!! King Cobra temunobe and he is always ahead of his opponents.

    • @Mike, you under 5 party like talking about old people. Respect us if you want a vote from us. Why are you mention Mr Sata, Mr Chikwanda and Mr Munkombwe? Leave them out of this nonsense. That is why you cannot lead Zambia because you are forever insulting us.

  3. Jojo or whatever you call yourself, go back to the ape age where you belong. What extent of illiteracy gives you audacity to talk about another tribe like that! It gives me goose pimples to learn that some people are still so backward. This platform is meant to comment on issues not tribes. People who have been to school have mingled with any tribe and for that they see why they should hate anyone based on that.

    • @Monkey Garden, you are not happy because you have been told the truth. Bembas are brave unlike you cows. Besides you are just using Ms Mulenga so that people think you are not tribal. You are and the worst ever.

  4. UPND has a constituition which they have failed to respect? HH has failed to call for elections in his party against party constituiton how is he going to respect zambian constituition?

  5. wenda mu tarmac road nefipatala ifisuma, ifwe batu pangile ko ati iyo first constituition. Ba UPND nama NGO fwayeniko ulupiya lwa constituition elyo mumone nga tatwa mipe ulupapulo.

  6. A more worthy cause by UPND and if more are Bemba so be it, than acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda ‘Ukakashi ne po teulingile’ holding on to temporal post without shame.

  7. UPND IS NO LONGER A TRIBAL PARTY BUT PF.WE HAVE A GOOD NUMBER OF OTHER TRIBES IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS NOW AND WE ARE GETTING READY TO ACHIEVING 100 PERCENT NATIONAL CHARACTER WHILE PF WILL REMAIN BEMBA DOMINATED. WE NEED OUR CONSITUTION NOW OR HEADS WILL ROLL.PF BE WARNED,THIS IS NOT YOUR BEDROOM ISSUE IT IS OUR LIFE ND OUR FREEDOMS AT STAKE. @jojo please stop Bemba Tribalism we are tired of who think that they more suited to rule this country simply because they belong to a certain tribe. one zamia one nation. long live KK.

  8. Ask them what they want in the constituttion do they have even a clue , to them is about HH nothing else just specify what you want funny indeed just talk about roads good hospitals. Clean water prices of mealimeal electricity in townships

  9. But madam, why cant you start first? Go in the streets as a ring leader don’t just direct students and youths, you must lead by example mum.

  10. Let those who want the constitution fight we have no time to waste. But remember the police will be waiting for you.

    Regards
