Zambia striker Patson Daka will know on Thursday whether he has won his fourth prize in 2017.
Patson had a decorated 2017 after winning the 2017 Zambia Sportsman and Sports Personality Award’s in December.
Both accolades came after winning the 2017 U20 AFCON Best Player award in March when his four goals inspired hosts Zambia to victory in that tournament.
And on Thursday in Accra, Patson will be vying for the continents biggest junior football honour when the 2017 CAF Young Player of the Year is named during the annual CAF Awards Gala in Ghana.
Patson has competition from Krepin Diatta of Senegal and Salam Giddou from Mali.
He is also hoping to emulate Clifford Mulenga who was the last winner of the award from Zambia in 2007.
Patson is also the only Zambia in all the 2017 CAF Awards categories up for honours on the night.
Meanwhile, there will be no Best Referee Award or African-based Player award handed out after CAF decided to discontinue the two categories.
