Government has urged United Party for National Development (UPND) leader, Hakainde Hichilema, to be objective and balanced in his criticism of government initiatives.

Information And Broadcasting Services Minister, Kennedy Sakeni, observes that it is clear Mr Hichilema’s comments are not meant to offer checks and balances but intended to undermine Republican President, Michael Sata’s administration.

In a statement to ZANIS today, Mr Sakeni said it is understandable that Mr Hachilema is still bitter from his loss in last year’s election and implored him to accept defeat and sober up in his politicking.

The minister was reacting to remarks made by UPND leader criticising government initiative of mobile phone sim card registration exercise to be conducted country wide.

He stated that the mobile phone sim card registration is a noble cause which is currently in place in a many other countries in the region.

Mr Sakeni added that the move is highly progressive and will help curb criminal activities linked to cell phones.

Mr Sakeni, however, maintained that government welcomes constructive and objective criticism which is without malice and hatred and will remain committed to promoting freedom of expression as espoused in the PF manifesto.

  1. Tell him Mr. Sakeni. The guy is in the news for wrong reasons. He is either opposing the govt on anything and everything or daring them to arrest him. Zambia really needs credible opposition

  2. Does the PF govt have nothing constructive to put their effort on? Everyday it is HH this HH that; is HH the only thing they have on their minds? If he is not a factor as they claim why not just ignore him and show the voters that you are fulfiling your campaign promises?

  3. USELES OLD MADALAZ WITH OUT ANY PLAN FOR ZAMBIA.BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH .GET TO WORK.2016 IS NEAR,U IL BE HEADMASTERS FOR CHICKENS

  4. #2 Silent Observer – the statement is from the Minister of information and not from entire PF. That is within his job capacity to air his observations. It is not as easy to ignore a guy that incites riots and on a collsion path with authorities just to gain publicity.

  5. Kenani Sakelani PF mouth piece you dont have anything better o tell the nation other than HAAKA HICHELEMENA. Let him talk unti he gets tired. The more you answer to his charges the more you are showing to the public to believe that the man is thorn in the flesh. Just ignore him if you think he is bitter with loss he suffered last year.

  6. you fool go back to work .everyday it is HH.for once go back and implement the promises you made.people are thinking it is the way you want them to divert from promises.pathetic fools.public fools, pama fi

  7. Sakeni you’re the ones who should sober up! You always come out unhinged and blubbering like fools! You’ll be criticized everyday if you continue with your misguided policies, tribalism and dictatorial tendencies. We’re watching you!

  8. Truely HH is under 5 to say the least. How could a leader fail to control his emotions and go on such a rant.If HH can`t stand the heat,he must get out of the kitchen.

  9. Just shut the fak up & work. leav hh alone.the man is nt in govt. whn he is done wth is busines,he finds tym 2 relax on politics. as from u mr urgly,we want development!

  10. And our parents in Chansali will eat your critics of HH? However unsober HH behaves, he is not in the govt. you PF are showing your weakness by continuing to focus on HH at the expense of development of the country. Next time we will hear “we could not fulfill our promises because HH made it hard for us to work”. bafi-color start working for the people who voted for you. You have wasted so much time on HH

  11. I really regret to vote for P.F its only Fours years remaining to pack and go.I Know people are just neutral come 2016.The people you are eating with will turn to you.

  12. @ # 5 Amayama, point of correction, i have not said the whole PF please read my post again. I said PF govt specifically. You claim HH ‘incites riots and is on a collsion path with authorities just to gain publicity.’
Please give credible evidence where he has incited riots and let the police deal with him if you have that evidence. It is within your rights as a citizen to criticise the people you voted for to serve you. They are your servants and not your bosses as you may wish to think. Probably you do not understand the role of the opposition in a multiparty democracy. MCS criticised MMD everyday and no one said he was inciting riots. Do you want me to give you examples?

  13. I think ba HH we are now getting we are tired with criticism, The idea of registering simcard is a good move. Zambia is not the first country to start doing that, i think we are even much far behind. The problem is that everything the govt does for HH is political. S.A did that long time ago so man just try to considerate in your criticism.

  14. Bafikala bati mwalishalila mu Zambia yeeeee. Sim card registration is a good move its done everywere except Zambia Malawi  and Zimbabwe….

  15. u PF, u dont c by facial expression, since HH came into politics same thing is repeating itself, he was asked by ZNBC interviews to say u dont smail, always your face is sad why. Its his nature pls PF. Why are u not giving him enough chance to speak, talk to the public so that peaple of zambia can handle him themselves the way sata was left by Levy and Lupiah.

  16. obviously like your web site but you have to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very bothersome to inform the reality then again I??ll definitely come back again.
