The Patriotic Front (PF) provincial youth committee in North-Western province has disassociated itself from remarks made by its secretary Eunice Kapenda that it intends to petition President Edgar Lungu for dissolving the committee.
PF provincial vice youth chairman Jackson Kungo told ZANIS in an interview today that the statement which appeared in one of the tabloid newspapers that the committee in the province intends to petition President Lungu has no blessings of other party members.
Mr. Kungo said what was reported was Ms Kapenda’s individual complaint which had no blessing of the dissolved provincial committee, adding that they had accepted the decision and saw no sense in petitioning the President.
He said the letter which was signed by PF Secretary General Davies Chama had not yet reached them but pointed out that the central committee had made a decision to which they have no objection but to oblige, and Ms. Kapenda should have issued the statement in her own capacity.
He said the changes are vital and no member of the dissolved provincial committee is aggrieved by the decision of the central committee, adding that other provinces such as Western, Copperbelt and Eastern had equally been dissolved.
Mr Kungo said the dissolved leadership would rally behind the new leadership that would be ushered in as well as embrace defectors to the party.
They pledged to continue supporting President Lungu, the PF secretary General and entire party.
In a telephone interview last evening with North West TV, PF Secretary General Davies Chama confirmed the dissolution of the provincial committee and affirmed that the party was re-organizing itself.
Perhaps the only sober PF politicIan.
There is no hope in this party of failures. you should all redefect to upnd.
Patriotic Foolishness at it worst.
North Western votes on morals not immoral people votes and uneducated miners children on the copper belt.
Who in his normal senses can vote for PF with such economical, governance and social failures.
PF died sometime ago.
