Share

Zambia completed their three-day training camp in Tunisia with a 1-0 defeat against hosts Tunisia on Tuesday evening in Rades.

A 73rd minute goal from Etoile Sportive du Sahel striker Yacine Chikhaoui gave Tunisia their win over Zambia after losing 2-1 in the first friendly match played at the same venue.

The goal was Chikhoui’s second against Zambia this week after also scoring Tunisia’s lone goal in the first game on Sunday.

Meanwhile, defenders Elijah Tana and Davies Nkausu including goalkeeper Mike Poto left Lusaka today at 16:00 for Paris where they will ink up with Zambia tomorrow en route to Morocco.

Zambia will face Morocco on Saturday in Fez in Patrick Phiri’s team final pre-Africa Cup warm-up match.

The team will later depart for Ghana on the 13.

In other news, former Zambia and Zanaco goalkeeper George Kolala has joined Lusaka Dynamos on a permanent move.

Kolala was released by Zanaco at the end of the 2007 season.

  1. Ya with FAT BOY Mbesuma in the line up how do you expect them to score? Anyway good results bearing in mind that this was not our best front line. Am sure FAT Boy could not even create chances for Mayuka and wasted the chances he had.

  2. Phew! I don’t really know when Mbesuma will learn to score consistently in big matches. The coach should put him on the bench, or if he fails to perform at the AFCON just drop him.

  3. At long last, there is some good news for Zambians; I mean, i dont understand people of my homeland. it seems that whenever our country wins, they will always try to come up with somthing neggative(NIGGAtive)to say.

  4. ZambiA ALALA ALALA!!! ALAALA!! ALLAH IS GREAT!!! ALALA!!! CHIPOLOLO!! Allah bless u brother Yassine chikhaoui

  7. WE WILL MAKE YOU BOYS SWEAT!AND IT WILL BE SWEATING FOR NOTHING MORE THAN GIVING US ARABIC NATIONS THE POINTS WE DESERVE

  8. Abdulaziz…these results are on Tunisian soil. Who cares what you think anyway.

Tunisia keeps wasting African qualifying spots to the World Cup and losing, coz they’re too tame, relying on a Brazilian player to get them there.

    Go Chipolopolo!!

  9. AbdulZIZ. YOU WILL HAVE A RUDE AWAKENING MY FRIEND. FOR THE BIBLE SAYS I CAN DO ALL THINGS IN CHRIST JESUS WHO STRENGTHENS ME. WATCH ZAMBIA RISE AND PERFORM WONDERS. ITS NOT ABOUT BEING ARAB. YOU THINK GOD ONLY FAVOURS ARABS. GOD HELPS HIM WHO BELIEVES ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. I STILL BELIEVE MBESSUMA WILL HAVE A GREAT TOURNEY. WATCH HIM AND THE REST OF THE TEAM. SOME Y’ALL WILL EAT HUMBLE PIE.

  10. NO MORE CHIPOLOPOLO MY BOTHER. YES WE USED TO GIVE RESPECT TO MEN AND NOT BOYS.THE KK WHATEVER U USED TO CALL THEM MAYBE AND MAYBE WE WOULD TO CONSIDER U AS A TEAM!! THE NORTH PART OF THE EQUATOR RULES WHEN IT COMES TO SOCCER. WE COMMAND. TRY CHANGING YOUR NAME TO SOMETHING LIKE CHUCHU 11

  11. Abdulaziz, you are suffering from post-natal fanaticism which you no idea how to harness so we can disagree yet live agreeably. Yours is s misplcaed passion which has no place in the 21st Century. Who told you african football is ruled by the Arabs. You are so myopic your reasoning lacks tact, miserable arab.

  12. Abdulaziz walid, I know where u stay. Dont get suprised if you are robbed any time soon. This 2008 Africa Cup is for the Zambians we can try 2010 in Angola. ZAMBIA 2 SUDAN O & ZAMBIA 5 EGYPT 0 ....Again dont misuse Gods name pliz.... Abdulaziz walid, I know where u stay. Dont get suprised if you are robbed any time soon. 13. Please people don’t make other teams such God vs …, and Arabs Vs Bantus. In Ghana it will be country vs country and Y.Chikhala-ouli Vs Chris Katongo, and Eto’ Vs Kalaba. Let Drogba come fuming, he will be cooled by Billy Mwanza.
You blarrie WALID if you want to blog here you better drink responsibly, but if you want to grow wise then stay we will you teach better than your uncle.
    As-salaam alaykum!!

  14. Abdlaziz,I just moved to a new home, across where your sister stays and she likes me apparently.Might be your future brother in-law it seems.Do you want to send robbers to your future bro in-law innit. No you wont do that.If you do your are fool,a goof, a tard. You dont want pipo calling you these names, nah you dont. So you wont send them I know.See ya bra!!

  15. Abdlaziz, you must be a real crazy lunatic, dont you know that soccer is played on the field and likely superiority is determined after 90 min.So stop dreaming along ur arabic ethics because they are really irrelevant to this block but let me reasure you that those arabic nations of yours are in for a good hiding by zed.

  16. Abdulaziz why do you guys want to bring religion in everything? Arab this and that…? I hope you won’t send Suicide Bombers to our team when we beat Egypt 2-0.We have beaten Cameroon,Sudan and Egypt before so none of these teams scare us.Zambian football is slowly rising back to it’s best watch out.

  17. Guys just ignore this disgruntled arab fellow. Iam sure he is a suicide bomber in waiting. PP has admitted that Mbesuma is not fit and struggling to gain momentum. But let us not lose hope, he might pull out a surprise or two at AFCON 2008. It is good news that Tana will join the team. He will be needed for the Sudan game ‘coz he is exposed to the Sudanese football.

  18. This Abdulaziz chap is a terrorist. Leave him alone. He is just destructing us from concentrating on analysing our team.

  19. Mulenga moving to Israel
    Posted: 2008-01-10 09:44

Pretoria University winger Clifford Mulenga has joined Israel Super division side Maccabi Petach Tikva on a three-year contract with a signing on fee worth more than R2.5-million.

Mulenga’s deal to join Tikva was sealed on Monday and will see the player move from First Division Inland Stream Tuks, where he is currently on loan from Swedish outfit Orgryte IS at the end of this year’s African Cup of nations tournament in Ghana.

    Mulenga is

  20. Abdulaziz Walid…I’m coming to insert a bomb in your a$$ so i can quickly send you to Allah just to keep this blog killer-free

  21. Kemps thanx for the Clifford story. I bet it is a good deal for him. I have watched Clifford on several occassions playing for AmaTuks(Pretoria University)and is an influential player for the team. He is young and talented and hopefully he will able join one of the elite european leagues. Good luck Clifford.

  22. Kemps #30.This is good for the young man career wise and monetary I saw the story on Kickoff this morning.Apparently his new team is 4th on the log and the pushing for a Uefa Cup place next season.

  23. i equally read this story and im impressed by cliford”s deal especially that the club hope to invest in him. This is just the begining of more zedians going abroad. It is good also for zambian soccer.Justin zulu and another chap also went to be attached at a club in isreal.

  24. Sudan was beaten by Nigeria second string squad 2-0 in their freindly last night. It should aslo waint for another serious hiding by zed

  25. Thanks Ba Kemps for the data.
All those Mbesuma critics will be shocked at the AFCON. The moment the player starts scoring you start praising him. The bad patch Mbesuma has been going through is temperal. It is this destructive criticism that destroys players. Dont you know that with a word of mouth, you can either create or destroy.
Abdulaziz’s terrorist comments are not surprising. These guy alienate themselves from the rest of the world owing to their splendid isolation and superiorit

  26. CTD… policy. Unfortunately even in soccer there that ARABIC element. Football should be a uniting factor regardless of religion, colour, creed, race or background. These are the evils FIFA is trying to curb in soccer. Unfortunately, people like Abdulaziz are bringing Allah in football. The name of God should be brought for good reasons not for competition or who is better than the other.

  27. This is good news that Clifford Mulenga has got a professional deal in Isreal. Thers is good football in Isreal and quite a number of talented Africans are playing in Isreal.
Indeed it will be good for African players. Now this is time for you Clifford to shine and impress your club.

  28. #38 Billy SA

I agree with you on Mbesuma

People must not pull Mbesuma down. The youngman will hit good form soon. Form is temporary and talent is permanent. Mbesuma is young talented but has been negatively affected by injuries. There is quality in Mbesuma and evidence is there to this effect. Only last season he was top scorer at his club in portugal. The guy will come alright. Do not destroy the young man with destructive comments. For the record Mbesuma has scored more

  29. #41 continued

goals for the National team than Chris Katongo despite the fact that Chris started playing for the team earlier than Mbesuma but today everyone is talking about Chris because of the three goals he socored against SA. Remember the hat trick Mbesuma socored against Congo in Brazzaville. Support all the players in the team. Do not descriminate players for the sack of zambian football.

  30. Guys whats your take on the new strip for the National team.I think the look good especially the Reddish one the used in Spain against the Andalucian team, though the Orange top and black shorts used in Tunisia also looks good. So far for me Faz have done their best with the team.

  31. #43 sibs, call it the traditional Copper jersey that the KK II used to torment some national soccer teams such as Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast,Morocco, Cameroun with, may be its a sign of good things to come by.

  32. Gents it doesn’t mean we all need to be positive when talking about Chipolopolo.

Only two questions need to be asked before you even comment on this blog.

    1. Can Cameron be sent out at group stage at CAN 2008?
    2. Can Egpt leave CAN 2008 at group stage?

    Answer me

  33. #45 Well Let FAT Boy Mbesuma first regain his confidence and rediscover his scoring at the club and not at the AFCON. That is not a place to regain that. This is not a league. It’s a Finals tournament for goodness sake ..we need players who will hit the ground running. This is not the place to nurse indisciplined players.

  34. #46 yes they can football is not only a skill game, there is team play, mental and psychology and if hose team do not have this they will be out. If you had asked can Greece be European champions the answer would have been no. This is football and that is why we love it because of it bag full of intrigue and surprises, otherwise it would be boring. England is not going to Euro Cup so these two team are beatable, besides we have beat them before on a big stage.

  35. We have dumped Cameroon out of a World cup qualifier before when everybody thought they will whack us 10-0. We instead whacked them 5-1. Remember Jack Chanda? Hey, our chances are equally good as any other team and the boys should not write themselves out. This is Football and not elections. We are there because we believe we can do it. We went into camp because we can do it. We hammered SA 3-1 in their backyard when everybody counted us out.

    GO CHIPOLOPLO(HIPOLOPLO SHIPOLOPLO SIPOLOPLO)

  36. Ultimate #46, even both Egypt and Cameroon can be booted out at the expense of Sudan and Zambia. The ball is round and roll anywhere. otherwise Brazil would have been perpetual world champions.

  37. Ultimate #46 All the teams in our Group stand a chance to advance to the knock out stage.Like Soccer Fan No.7 says anything is possible in Soccer.During the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan Group A teams
    France
    Uruguay
    Denmark
    Senegal
If i asked you which teams would qualify from this group you would have said, ‘France(Defending Champions)and Uruguay’.But look Denmark came 1st 7points and Senegal came 2nd 5points,France were last with only 1 point.Thats how cruel soccer is at times.

  38. A team can dominate the game and hit the cross bar 8 times, miss 1 penalty and even have a genuine goal disallowed by the referee and the other team have ONLY have one chance & score in the 92nd minute. Before the last Rugby World Cup New Zealand(The All Blacks) had only lost 1 game to (S.A) in almost 2 years and people were saying, including me that they would lift the World Cup but we were wrong.

  39. $9 Iwe Soccer fan number 7
We whacked cameroon 4-1 and it was courtesy of Nkana Red Devils striker Micheal Chabala and not Jack Chanda.

  40. Thanks for the correction Citizen. Yes you are right it was 4-1. Jack Chanda was the star of that game in creating the chances and picked up the tag African Pele

  41. CAN SOME PLEEEEEEAASE TELL ME WHAT WENT WRONG?
WAS IT PLUMPNESS? WAS IT FITNESS OR UNSUITABILITY? WAS IT BEER? zambia’s most consumed beverage.

  42. The only problem with zambian brothers is that they fail stomach it when accosted with the truth. TO BE HONEST, YOU DO NOT DESERVE THAT SPOT AT THE AFRICA CUP FINALS IN GHANA.DENYING DERSEVING TEAMS TO TAKEPART. SHAME ON YOU!! SHAME ON YOU!! VIVAE SUDAN VIVAE EGYPT!!

  43. #55 good news and it was 5-2 on aggregate as we drew 1 all in Yaounde or whatever they call it and at that time Cameroon were at their best. They even recalled Milla and M’fede for the game in Cameroon but we managed a draw, ninshi twali na ba Chilengi

  44. Gentlemen don’t raise your irie against this clown calling himself Abdulaziz he is a Zambian contributor who normally posts without a tag and appears as anonymous. Our Arab friends respect us in Soccer

  45. Patrick Phiri has finally named his Final 23 member team list.David Nkausu from the University of Pretoria who was reported to have traveled with Elijah Tana and 3rd choice goalkeeper Pito is not on the list. Felix Nsunzu was has replaced C.Mbesuma is on the list and the rest of the guys in Morocco.Elijah Tana is also in the Final team.
I have never watched Felix Nsunzu how good is the young man? He’s the only guy i have never seen play amongst our front line.Someone advice.

  46. Am happy with the team Phiri has picked,-school boys like Kalu took to the last AFCON-Clifford Mulenga, Christopher, Felix, Jacob mulenga, etc,& so where is Sichone, Sinkala despite unjuries,& Tana which people cry for, age has caught up with Sichone and Tana let us not depend experience when the chips are not even desciplined and not ready take die for mother Zambia as they say soccer is business.
But Ba Phiri have confidence in yourself and dont allow media reports help help you select a team.

  47. Phiri, thumbs up for accepting that Mbesuma was not fit.expose as many school boys as possible, Time for Sichone Tana and Mike Poto is over becaues there wont be around during the next AFCON.
Its better to expose young players that have a future and not those, even if they impress at this years AFCOn no European club can sign on them because of age.let us look future. Phiri Sichone told you that he did not want to play at AFCON but you pretended. He told he wanted to give chance to young boys

  48. Kalembe my brother, the fuss in FAZ will only come to end when Kalu and Mulonga gets out of Faz,Kalu was campaigning for Tana while Mulonga was against thus putting Phiri in clumsy situation. And its becoz of this situation that we find our tax payers money being wasted by sending Nkausu and Tana who are part of the team, because there was no communication between pipo at home and the team

  49. im dissapointed seeing ethnicity and religion brought into football…im an arab and muslim living in england… its true that the northern nations(including w.africa) of africa are more talented than the rest…but religion isnt the reason…as they say, “Do ur best, god will do the rest”, GOD ONLY HELPS IF U HELP URSELF…so its down to practice, talent and then god helps…I have also been disappointed by people calling abdulaziz a terrorist..ok hes a fool..(CONTINUED BELOW..)

  50. (FROM ABOVE….) but remember, by calling him a terrorist, u mean all muslims are terrorists..and this hurts me… if he’s a fool, just leave him…revenge is stupidity u know… I support MOROCCO & EGYPT because i have grew up doing so… but i dont think Tunisia will go far this time around…But also we have to accept that N.Africans rule african football currently..(In the CAF champs league inlast 3 years, the finalist were ALL ARABS…(CONTINUED BELOW…)
