Zed Saileti insists he is innocent and ready to clear his name after prosecutors in Finland today said they were pursuing him in their on-going investigations over the match fixing scandal in that country.
Nine football players at Saileti’s former club in Finland RoPS who include seven Zambians have been handed suspended sentences while convicted match fixing mastermind Wilson Raj Permual of Singapore has been jailed for two years.
The players have said Saileti was one of the major players in the match fixing scandal in Finland.
“I don’t even know this guy (Raj Permual). I have never heard of him or ever met him,” Saileti said in Kitwe today in the aftermath of the verdicts in Finland and subsequent allegations linking him to the match fixing scandal.
“But right now I cannot say much because I do not have the facts of the court in Finland and would like to see what has been said before saying more.”
The former Zambia striker is currently assistant coach to Linos Makwaza at Nkana.

I am sure you have also brought MATCH FIXING in Zambia especially involving your team NKANA. It is very very difficult to trust when NKANA wins or loses if it is really a genuine loss or win because it may come from your MATCH FIXING experience.
NKANA football team should fire this man for his match fixing scandals. I am not sure if Kalusha’s led FAZ can fire this Zed Saileti because they are also involved in match fixing of elections supported by FIFA.
Every one of those Zambians was scouted to the club by Saileti. He played with them in Rops before his retirement. If they all admit match fixing and say Zeddy was involved it is hard to believe Zed hasn’t even hear of Wilson Raj Perumal.
Zed is innocent leave him alone please. Do not be the jury and judge on matters you have no facts and evidence.

Hah! If Zeddy hasn´t even heard of Perumal, then he must travel to Finland. Does he have guts to do that? The court heard all the players, and the verdict was given based on the unanimous statements of the players. I really despise Saileti – he has been quiet and hiding during the Finnish procedures, and now, after the verdict, he pleads not guilty. Rubbish, I say! Come to Finland, Saileti, and clear your name – or otherwise, just shut up.

You are one of unintelligent Zambians i have ever heard not connecting that if a Zambian player (by the way Nkana Coach) is involved in MATCH fixing INTERNATIONALLY (in Finland in this case), then it should be dealt at NATIONAL level (FAZ as to come in).

i havent ready the full judgment but from the information i was getting, a bargain was made between the players and the prosecution requiring the players to disclose all the material facts and dealings in exchange for suspended sentences.Notwithstanding the corroborative evidence the prosecutors have, the people linking saileti to the scandal are the players(convicts). so saileti, please stop issuing statements and juist await the extradition orders to be concluded between the zambain govt and finland.in case we dont have an extradition treaty, may be an arrest warrant maybe issued to interpol. either way, you maybe forced to swallow your pride and reveal the truthin exchange of a suspended sentence.
