Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba

Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has assured the nation that Zamtel has not been nationalized. Mr Kabimba has maintained that nationalization is not the policy of the ruling party.

The PF secretary General said at a PF-Civil Society Organisation meeting that the 75 per cent stake repossessed from Lap Green of Libya was done, because the transaction was corruptly executed.

And Commerce Minister Robert Sichinga has declared that government will not entertain corruption and unprofessionalism among civil servants. Mr Sichinga says government will make every effort to uplift the welfare of the people.

He says Zambians are yearning for development which has eluded them over the years Mr Sichinga said this when he launched his Ministry’s 2011-2015 strategic plan at Sandy’s Creation in Lusaka.

Speaking at the same occasion, Information, Broadcasting and Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda says the strategic plan was a critical tool for good management and governance.

Mr. Shamenda says the plan will help enhance government’s responsiveness to the needs of the Zambians.

And Acting Permanent Secretary at the Management Development Division Ndashe Yumba has observed that the country is experiencing relative economic stability.

Thats not enough Mr. Kabimba, you just can answer an important question like that and leave hanging. Tell us what the next reprivatisation programme is, of corse there’s a court case but whats the tentative one.

Wait….I thought the definition of nationalisation is a government taking ownership of privately owned and managed companies….which is exactly what has happened here. Either Mr. Kabimba thinks Zambians are ******, or he needs to read a dictionary!

Also why is this guy always speaking on government policy? He is a party official not a government official. The government needs to make it clear what his role is because at the moment he has his hands in everything, he is speaking on government policy, is on the board of Zamtel, is writing commissions of enquiry…he is also effectively the operations head of their party…all of which creates multiple conflicts of interest.

Not all nationalization is bad. China and France are doing well with their nationalized firms! It works extremely well when you have politicians in governemnt with national interest at heart.

Indeed no need to nationalize crooks and looters…
    What a clown…!!

According to NGOs in its 2010 pilot audit by Grant Thornton, Zambia and Econ Poyry, Zambia lost an estimated income of USD 175 million in tax revenue between 2003 and 2008 from tax avoidance practices’ by Glencore AG International owned Mopani Copper Mines.
copper from Mopani is sold under a contract with copper in one instance being sold at 25 per cent of official prices at LME. In other words, they are not paying taxes over 75% of the copper sold to Glencore.

“Zambia continues to lose on dividends from Mopani Copper Mines as the Glencore owned mine never declare any dividends to Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines InvestmentHoldings.

During the period under review, Action Aid estimates that the Zambians government lost an estimated USD 50 million per year in undeclared dividends to ZCCM IH by Mopani.Copper Mines, according to Action Aid was avoiding declaring anydividends by ZCCM IH through transfer pricing and over statement of the costs.”

“The auditors found that MCM resisted the pilot audit at every stage. The company’s book-keeping was incomplete, several legally required documents were lacking and the general ledger analysis showed several loopholes and couldn’t be matched with the trial balance,” the organisations stated.

There is nothing like PF Government. The party in power automatically becomes The Zambian Government. That’s why Winter Kabimba is not suppose to issue statements regarding the position of the Zambian Government because he does not represent the government. Jungle politics.

Away from Wynter, Parliamentary petitions…..if one said he or she will spear head the drilling of boreholes during campaigns, then that became evidence enough to uallify the seat. But PF preached about more money in our pockets, more jobs, reduced taxes etc, recently Guy Scott told Msanzala people to vote for PF candidate who would be appointed minister. I see all these to be electoral malpractices.
