I wish to comment on the recent clash between Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) and Patriotic Front (PF) cadres outside Lusaka magistrate court complex during the trial of Post news editor Chansa Kabwela yesterday.
The scuffle left one PF cadre with a deep cut on the forehead.
Joseph Chama was allegedly hit with a screw driver during the physical confrontation.
He was immediately rushed to the University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
What is really the source of such savage and uncivilized behavior among political cadres in our beloved country?
We need to learn to engage in politics without physically assaulting others. We need to remember that we are Zambians first in spite of the different political parties we belong to.There are 73 different tribes to which we belong, or the different languages we speak. And we also have the same dreams as members of the larger Zambian family!
As we seek to improve the livelihoods of each and every Zambian, we should put our political alignments, tribal identities, religious convictions, and professional affiliations aside and work together as a nation. We need to strive to create a society in which political, ethnic, cultural, racial, and religious diversity is appreciated, tolerated and celebrated.
We should not allow politics to create divisions amongst us to the extent of battering each other during campaigns and whenever we have differences in opinion over national issues. We should avoid acting savagely toward one another. And we need to pray for one another, and for our beloved country. After all, we are one and the same people – we are members of the Zambian family!

I’m sorry but the color of someones skin will always matter. Society is what it is. The color of our skin dark or light determines how others will treat us. This is the world we live in. Some won’t care and some will, a lot.
Most successful men have married White women, For me it appears that when someone is suprerior ie in this case i have a degree, then you want someone at your level to befirend you. White men LOVE sophisticated black women so I don’t know people who attacked me of the problem is correct. I think the problem is that black men for the most part are slackers and are deeply intimidated by educated black females. We the Black females seem to take education far more seriously than black men. When I was in college the black women in my classes really made an effort while the black men sat on their asses in the back of the class playing around with their beepers and cell phones, cheating on tests ect. and really just seemed to be there to “hook up”. King Sata trained those cadres when he was MMD secretary, now these are the results. I thought he has equally trained the PF ones to use matchets! You will reap what you sow even after changing names, parties or houses! Now way forward, these MMD thugs will one day be in the opposition and will cry! I remember one politician recently used to use some uncommon words after reading a dictionary to attack the opposition, now though still a lower leader, he is humbled. There is nothing surprising cadres sorting eachn other at Court Complex. These guys get mobilized given beer and some even smoke gaja. Once they have reached a certain level of instability they get put on buses and taken to their destination to cause havoc. This whole fracas shows how incompetent our police service is. They are supposed to have first had information on the cadres movement and get redy to react. They should not be allowing 2 opposing camps in vacinity of each other. For lack of action or activity the Police officers become part of the spectators. The police should track those party officials who organise cadres for such mischief. Its disgusting to see a man being stoned as though he were a mad dog being sorted out by children. Does ZP nid riot gear to control such a mob?

The blame or that incidence should have been on the Post than the poor cadre. The Post has has fueled and reported with euphoria every time MMD cadres have been victims with such headlines and i quote “MMD cadres clobbered, MMD cadred battered”. Such has been their structured way of headline reporting to create and fuel humiliation and more against MMD members.Chiwamila garu.The MMD cadres were merely in self defense that such humiliating headlines don’t fill the post pages again.Such should be directed at the Post specifically Mmembe, Maluoenga in that trickle down effect within the chain.
Pipo are in GRZ service and charged with various responsibilities failing to execute their duties. Its just trhe mentality that we have developed over the years. You are very correct in your assesment of the situation the headlines by the post when covering some of these (i dont what to call them) is what is causing more problems. From that headline the PF cadres or lets say gang (because they are forming gangs now and political parties are only a cover up) will mobilize to take on the other gang because its been published they they where humiliated.
