UNDER 20 TAKE EASTER BREAK.

The Zambia Under 20 national team today broke camp after the teams initial three-day training camp in Lusaka.

18 players reported for training over the opening three days since Monday with the other two: Goodson Kachinga and Richard Phiri missing due to their pending transfers from div 1 north club Chambishi to top-flight club Red Arrows.

The squad will regroup again in Lusaka after the Easter break on Monday, April 9.

George Lwandamina’s squad is preparing for its participation in this years Fifa Under 20 world Cup to be held in Canada this July with weekly training-camp get-togethers in Lusaka.

Zambia is in Group B with Spain, Uruguay and Jordan and opens its World Cup pool campaign with the latter on July 1.

MWEETWA GETS EURO TRIAL.

ZESCO United and ex-Zambia striker Nchimunya Mweetwa is scheduled to attend trials at Finland 2nd division club RoPS.

Mweetwa is expected to leave for Finland next week after Zesco complete his clearance formalities with FAZ and the National Sports Council of Zambia.

It will be the former Kitwe and Ndola United players’ first trial with a European club after attending tryouts with some South African clubs over the last two years.

RoPS currently have one Zambian player on their books in former Nkana and Zambia international striker Zed Sialeti who has been at the club for over ten years.

Meanwhile, Mweetwa joined Zesco this season on a permanent move after earlier spending the 2006 campaign on 12-month loan deal from Kitwe United.

He has several senior Zambia caps spread across 2005 and with three international goals.

The highlight of his stalled international career was a brace against Liberia in 5-0 away win in 2006 Africa /World Cup qualifier victory played on October 1, 2005 in Monrovia.
