  1. Team ya Ziko, good result against the defending champs. Kalaba is really on form, looking forward to some good performances in the national squad

  2. thank God its not zanaco on top, their a let down ,cant qualify to the group stages of the champions league ever since they have been champions in zambia.hope another team wins the league.

  3. The league is too goal-shy. Drogba posted more than 30 goals (23 in the English league) this just ended season compared to just 11 for our tops.

No wonder the national team has been dubbed the ‘nearly men’ by Ponga Liwewe. They’re a reflection of the league.

  4. MK-you the league is about 10 games old so what are you on about, frogba scored 30 goals in about 50+ games in all competitions…..Chris katongo only played half the season at COsmos aswell.

  5. Christopher (#5), the league is actually 14 games old, not 10 – see extract below posted on this blog.

    “Latest FAZ Premier League Table
    No. Club Name P W L D F A GD PTS
    1 Zesco United 14 10 2 2 25 7 18 32
    2 ZANACO 14 8 3 3 26 12 14 27”

My point though is that Drogba (not Frogba) plays in one of the toughest leagues in the world, is from Africa and can score that many goals.

The Zambian League on the other hand is one of the weakest (you just have to look at the continental club champions effort, there’s nothing to show for it). So relatively speaking, it should be easier to score, than in the league I referred to above. Put bluntly, Drogba would probably score three times as many goals in our league….and that’s my point!

Mbesuma was also top scorer in the South African league before he moved to England. We all know what happened! The man failed to tick. Perhaps a reflection of the leagues that gave ‘birth’ to him!

  6. its pointless for you MK to be comparing our league to the premiership and there is nothing to correct, he is still Frogba.Talk of Eto and the one you are calling Drogba. Eto was out for five months and he came back with a bang, putting 11 goals to the back of the net.the current leading scorer has 21 goals.Thats what we call to class striker, not Frogba he is below par. He has just taken advantage of an easy league compared to to spanish and germany leagues.

  8. In response to Desire @ #7 & 8 (repetition), leagues are about competition. Competition is about comparison. Compariing is what motivates improvement. Zambia needs to improve. That’s the point I’m making.

As to Didier Drogba – full name (Frogba according to you), it’s not what I call him. It’s what his mother/father named him. It’s what his native country calls him. It’s what his passport calls him. It’s what his coach calls him. It’s what Chelsea Football Club calls him. There’s no player called Frogba on the Chelsea website – see http://www.mychelseafc.com/squad/drogba.

‘Frogba he is below par. He has just taken advantage of an easy league compared to to spanish and germany leagues’, you say. That’s precisely my other point. In a weak/easy league more goals should be scored.

Interestingly, neither the Spanish nor the Germany league has a representative in tonight’s UEFA Cup final. It’s an English/Italian affair. Isn’t that odd!

  9. To be frank wit you MK i have never liked Chealse coz their play insnt all that good.Football is a game of chances, it doesnt mean that if Liverpool/Milan are in the UEFA champions league final that they are best teams. No, no!. good day MK enjoy tonight’s game.

  10. Go! Go! Zescolo Team Ya Ziko Go and electrocute all the Zambia teams to finish Top! Great Job wada you’re doing us pride. Patrick Phiri consider calling up Kunda Mushota he’s enjoying top form in defence.
