Mosi Cup Round 6 Round-up

2004 Mosi Cup champions Lusaka Celtic and Chambishi were amongst some of the notable teams to sail through to round 7 of this year’s competition in round 6 matches played on Sunday.

Celtic booked their place in the next round after a 3-3 post-match penalty win over 2005 semifinalists Livingstone Pirates following a 1-1 draw at fulltime.

Chambishi were 2-0 away winners to two-time champions Mufulira Blackpool thanks to goals from Bobby Chola and Francis Mubanga.

The fairytale ride in this year’s Mosi Cup tournament continued when Premium Sports they beat Masiye 2-0 courtesy of goals from Marvin Kalumba and Paul Maimisa to reach round 7 on a journey in this year’s event that begun for them from round 3.

In the other round 6 games, Lime Hotspurs beat Police Blue Eagles 3-2 in Ndola; INDENI won 1-0 at home to Bresmar while Prison Leopards were 4-1 winners over Tazara Blue Stars in Kabwe.

Nampundwe beat Communite 5-4 on post-match penalties after a scoreless draw in their all-Division 1 south round 6 match.

The big Mosi Cup round 6 match between Nkana and Kitwe at Garden Park will be played on October 7.

The match was rescheduled due to Nkana’s Coca Cola Cup final commitment against Zesco United on Sunday that the former lost 5-0.
