Govts position on NCC irreversible, Kunda

Share

Justice Minister George Kunda says government’s position on the national constitution conference is irreversible and will go ahead with the process of the holding the conference.

Mr. Kunda says the act is now law and its implementation has commenced and will
not allow any obstacles to hinder its progression.

He says government has already given in to many demands from those with
dissenting views.

Mr. Kunda said this in Kafue today when he officiated at the swearing in ceremony
of Kafue District Council Chairman Goodson Sansakuwa and Vice Chairperson
Margaret Jeffries held in the council chamber.

He said the majority of Zambians have overwhelmingly accepted the conference
and are in support of government.

Mr. Kunda wondered why some non governmental organizations want to boycott
the National Constitution Conference, NCC despite government bowing down to
their demands.

He said everything was in motion and submission of names of persons to sit on the
conference has started.

Mr. Kunda urged the council to nominate one suitable councilor from Kafue whose
name should be submitted to the ministry of local government and housing for
onward submission to the secretary to cabinet.

The minister explained that councilors from each district will debate and bring out
issues in the NCC which will deal with local governance.

He urged the council to secure copies of the NCC Act and have them circulaed to
members of the public so that they understand the process.

And Mr. Kunda congratulated the two civic leaders for  having been elected into
office and urged them to work hard for the betterment of Kafue.

He urged them to spearhead the Make Zambia Clean and Healthy Campaign
programme in the disrict as this is the wish of the Republic President Dr. Levy
Mwanawasa who launched the campaign early this year.

Mr. Kunda also called on the council to employ qualified staff if service delivery in
local authorities is to be effective and efficient.

He said any officers found unqualified should be removed from positions that
require qualified persons.

The Minister also warned that government will not this year release cosntitutional
development funds to councils which fail to account for past funds dispersed to
districts.

He said government has since released K30 billion for constituencies to the ministry
of local government and housing.

And Kafue District Council Chairman, Goodson Sansakuwa assured the minister
that councilors in Kafue were in full support of government and the constitutional
making process.

He said councilors will ensure that they  use the NCC for airing out their views on
developmental issues affecting Kafue.

  1. Admin, whoever you are here on LT. Thanks for removing the earlier silly article about Rupiah’s comments. Now tone down on the GRZ/opposition views on NCC, it is now law. Let’s discuss the deliberations when they begin, opposition and crew had an opportunity to stop it at Manda Hill.

Can we talk about the fuel shortage? Surely a simple Project Management, Procurement or Supply Chain course could have avoided this nonsense by the controlling officers (whom I’m sure hold Phds). Does the GRZ have an energy crisis strategy plan?

  2. Is above Katangese? It looks very funny in writing, kind of stinky too.

I just could not helpcommenting on Kunda’s remarks in Kafue, it is such careless and foolish comments that have literally destroyed Miyanda. If Kunda thinks that chickens are not going to come back home to roost, he should better start counting his days. One day, and soon it shall be, he will be out of office and be called to account for his role in shoving a silly constitutional process into the throat of Zambians. Miyanda did the same with the Public Order Act and only a few years later, the Act came back to haunt the idle failed soldier, Levy squeezed his with his own creation until he defacated in his buggy combat. We’ll see with Mwila, those red lips of his will turn purple when someone comes in to squeeze his bollocks.

  3. If I were Levy, I will lock Sata up until he repents from his stinking sins.

We know Sata wants to be Zambia’s “Mandela”, but I hope he realises there is no African political prisoner ever recorded to have survived 27 years in his fellow black adversary’s prison. If Sata wants to be Mandela of Zambia, we shall see because all I can see is him becoming Saro Wiwa in Abacha’s prison. And only his fellow Janjaweed Zondwians will shed tears for him if he expires in jail, not a single tear from any long suffering Zambians who have for long been victims of his political prostitution “kaswende”. The kind of treatment he gave to Mung’omba, Nakatindi, Tembo Paul, Baldwin etc should also be allowed to visit him. What he needs to shut up is a taste of his own medicine.

  4. gray zulu you are a fool, what are you talking about?can you leave Hon Sata alone. Viva Hon Sata Viva PF you should shun this cabbage NCC, it won’t be valid after dr chuchu leaves office

  5. There was a BBC world service programme yesterday were Dr. Sata was interviewed regarding the threats President Mwanawasa was making about the NCC. Listen to it it was interesting. Dr. Sata was asked a lot of questions, some hard and personal but he answered them like the next President of Zambia would!!

They could have interviewed HH or Miyanda or even that preacher turned politician Mumba but no no no it had to be Dr. Sata. Even the BBC knows that he is making the next government.

A kabwato kaleya ku plot 1 come 2011 or even before!

    Viva PF Viva Sata

Here is a remedy for your problem -Yawning may boost your brain’s alertness

Yawning is not something we usually aim to provoke among our readers, but have a yawn now. Does your brain feel cooler? Do you feel more attentive? According to psychologists Andrew and Gordon Gallup of the State University of New York at Albany, that is why we yawn: to boost blood flow and chill the brain.

Not only that, brain-cooling explains why you can “catch” a yawn, says Gordon Gallup. “We think contagious yawning is triggered by empathic mechanisms which function to maintain group vigilance.” In other words, yawn-catching evolved to help raise the attentiveness of the whole group.

Blood vessels in the nasal cavity send cool blood to the brain, so breathing through the nose or cooling the forehead cools the brain and eliminates the need to yawn, says Gordon Gallup. He argues that brains operate more efficiently when cool, and that yawning enhances brain function. “According to our hypothesis, rather than promoting sleep, yawning should antagonise sleep,” he says.

Yawning signals a transition between the behavioural states of wakefulness and sleepiness, and boredom to alertness.

  7. #21 I agree with u LT should remove C&P from every blogging. Ci Pundit is the one who is manianic C$P. You ***** shameless Pundit, come out of your mental lapses. Look at his mentor Dr Chuchu Chipumputu he is getting worse by the day.

  8. SHUSHUSHU FACT/PUNDIT/PRAGMATIST or whatever new name you`ll call yourself. You must be ashamed of yourself for wrongly advising LPM on this flawed constitutional review.Your ill advice has not only broght so much ridicule to the PRESIDENCY but the nation at large.I know that bootlicking is your livelihood but search deep down your conscious and do the right thing.
Our message to LPM is that the removal of his immunity will be initiated within the first week of leaving office. He`ll be made to account for wasting public funds on this flawed constitution review.Zambians should never ever allow a MINORITY president to rule the nation again.Such individuals are so insecure about themselves and they usually resort to using cheap scare tactics to rule.
UNEMPLOYMENT of over 70%,FUEL SHORTAGES,blackouts the order of the day, dilapidated roads, lack of medicines in hospitals and the shameful list goes on under LPM`s gov.LPM`s focus should on tackling such national trepidation unlike his DEMAGOGY

  9. Ple ple ple pleaseeeeee pi pi pi pi pipo, I aaaaaaaaam sickieeeeeeeee and it ooooooonly Dr Bu bu bu bu bu bu bush whooooo ka ka ka ka canieee cu cu cu cu cu cu cure meeeeeeeee. Where are my critics? Ushe beans naipya?

  10. of course that was expected. what else can we expect after your boss warned pipo opposing the so-called ncc. how can u threaten pipo in such a manner? and yet u were given a honarary doctorate. on what grounds can u charge someone with treason? i know the dr has a different point of view. maybe its misunderstanding of freedom of speech and expression. what will we (youths) learn from this? what will say about politics? are u encouraging us to practice justice?

  11. When LPM came back from his extended overseas trip and said that he was a changed person. Before I could even finish reading what changes he was talking about, alot of things started running through my mind that finally this man has got it.He`s just been to the USA where both inflation and UNEMPLOYMENT LEVELS are in single digits, roadnetwork is good, student loans are available for anybody that wants to get further education, retirees are paid on time, the stock market is functional and properly regulated,a family easily has three meals a day and alot more positives. For a moment I thought that he had finally changed and was willing to tackle our main economic problems head on without fail.Unfortunately to my surprise, all he had learnt was about the scandalous GUENTANAMO PRISON were human rights aren`t respected and thankfully it`s even in the process of being shutdown. For your own information LPM,Zambia has passed the stage of being autocratically led.Don`t allow MUGABE to confuse you.

  12. #33 Mwaiche FACT.USA`s worst economic levels under the BUSH administration CAN NEVER be compared to Zambia`s BEST economic levels under LPM.Just concentrate on bootlicking LPM and the rest of the DEMAGOGUES.

  13. Mr Phiri said the current constitution entailed that all religions other than Christian, existed on the basis of tolerance that could be lost any time. The ICZ owns over 60% of Zambia’s economy, its time we took charge.

He said Islamic Community in Zambia would support the declaration of Zambia a Christian nation in the NCC if only there would be effective implementation measures in place, for example cutting of hands of thieves, suicide bombers trainings, advancing Muhammed the most high’s teachings.

  14. Mwaiche FACT don`t allow the botched Magandenomic figures confuse you.Can Zambia`s fragile economy withstand a severe natural disaster?Mwaiche if you take away the expense of the unnecessary IRAQ war,the USA ECONOMY has been performing pretty well. When you`re dealing with the economy of a nation alot of things factor in when measuring the economic performance. When you say that Zambia`s economy is better than the USA`s economy, what do you exactly mean? Are you simply dreaming or really serious?

  15. My mind is mental lapsing now like my presdo, who is going shushushu for Dr Chuchu? Look how I am now C&P like a fool. Pleezi piipoo heelp meee!!. I live a loonge waaay frooom Chaaiinaamaa can pleezzi sooomeeonee with 4x4x4x4x4 driiiivee theerree! MUUUTUUULEEEE KUUUNOOOO.

  16. If I were Chuchu, I will lock myself up until I repents from my stinking sins.

We know Chuchu wants to be Zambia’s “Mandela”, but I hope he realises there is no African political prisoner ever recorded to have survived 27 years in his fellow black adversary’s prison. If Chuchu wants to be Mandela of Zambia, we shall see because all I can see is him becoming Saro Wiwa in Abacha’s prison. And only his fellow Mental lapses like FACT will shed tears for him if he expires in jail, not a single tear from any long suffering Zambians who have for long been victims of his political prostitution “kaswende”. The kind of treatment he gave to FTJ, VJ, Sikatana etc should also be allowed to visit him. What he needs to shut up is a taste of his own medicine

  17. I’m very bitter that my bootlickers i dedicated to sing the PF song on LT have lamentably failed us to add to our rhetoric the expected mileage against Levy. I henceforth warn the trio: Chapi, Ba Jose and Original Pundit that you have failed me. In spite of my party’s investment in you through Henry Mtonga to orient you in our PF shushushu skills, you have failed to deliver. The party has been over infiltrated, all my MPs are frauds, Chungu our financier has been tracked all all assets frozen. The international community know as political terrorists a tag you have failed to help remove on your party. As a result, opportunities for bilateral shushushu training have been denied. So will continue with your subnormal shushushu. But my life is in danger because these *****s have failed to protect me.Should i be “Litvinenkoed” its because of my own shushushus i suspect of having sold themselves out. My blood will be on Chapi, Joze and TOP.

  18. Dedicating this song to Dr Chuchu

    -Dr Chuchu napena lelo tecakupapa
    -eminnine pakonaula
    -icolo censu
