Mbesuma Dropped

Share

Zambia national team striker Collins Mbesuma will not be going to this years Africa Cup finals in Ghana.

Coach Patrick Phiri today dropped the popular Turkish-based striker from Bursaspor due to poor fitness.

Mbesuma has struggled for fitness since moving to Turkey in August.

Phiri dropped Mbesuma, who has barely had more than two hours of playing time in his first six months with Bursaspor, after an unsatisfactory display in a 1-0 away defeat against Tunisia in a friendly on Tuesday evening in Rades.

The match was Mbesuma’s first with Zambia since joining the team last Sunday on January 6 after failing to earlier attend the teams Christmas training camp in Spain due to visa problems.

Phiri’s decision to drop Mbesuma has been met with little surprise considering the strikers poor form.

The bold and brave move by Phiri is seen as show of force by the soft-spoken coach in an attempt to keep his reputation and independence as head coach at a crucial time for the former Nkana FC and Zambia Under-20 trainer.

Phiri has been haunted by his earlier stint as Zambia head coach from 2001 to 2003 when he failed to guide the team the 2004 Africa Cup finals in Tunisia-the first time Chipoloplo failed to qualify after seven successive outings.

He had some redemption this time round with a last-minute shock 3-1 win over South Africa in the two sides last Group 11 qualifier played in Cape Town to see Zambia through on a better goal difference after finishing level on 11 points in their pool.

Meanwhile, Mbesuma’s international career has been plagued by a litany of fitness problems since he moved to Europe in 2004 when he joined English Premiership club Portsmouth from Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa before going on loan to Portuguese club Maritimo during the 2006-2007 season.

With Mbesuma out of the fray, the onus is on captain Christopher Katongo of Brondby in Denmark and Jacob Mulenga from French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg to lead the burden of Zambia’s attack.

However, Katongo is set to miss Zambia’s opening Group C match against Sudan on January 22 in Kumasi leaving Mulenga and South African based James Chamanga of Moroka Swallows as Phiri’s most potent attacking potions.

Mbesuma’s departure too opens the doors for promising new-boy and Kabwe Warriors striker to stake a claim for a place in the starting line when Zambia kicks off its campaign in a fortnights time.

  1. This is what I have just been saying on this blog that players’ selection to the National soccer team should not be based on past history or reputation of a player. Current form counts and wins matches. I salute PP for the brave decision. He should have included a more seasoned striker like Harry Milanzi in his place.

  2. Maaawe Mbesuma dropped, after travelling all the way to Tunisia! What next for him? Fitness, fatness or foodness?

Meanwhile, Zambia is now really shaping up for better or worse. Do we have dependable scorers or strikers?

Cameroun & Egypt will prove Zambia so or not so, lets wait and see!

  3. P.P really means business i never thought he would drop Collins but it’s true players need to be selected on merit.I hope this will be a wake up call to the guy that he needs to work hard to come back to his former best. The guy needs someone who can sit with him and counsel him.He also needs a personal trainer to help him shed some weight and get back his fitness.Who’s the other player dropped? Cos now that means we have 24 players including the guys on the way to Morocco.

  4. Serves him right. This guy has been on the decline for a long time. Actually, this decision has been long overdue. Maybe we can get rid of such distractions and get on with business.

Sad to say,Mbesuma has been the Architect of his own downfall.

  5. Am far as the national soccer team i concerned, zambia is mising 4 of its core players- Andrew Sinkala, Big Mose Sichone, the fat and dropped Collins Mbesuma and Harry Milanzi. Mbeuma too much into skirts.

  6. Never, because of Mbesuma? He never scored a goal at the last AFCON, it were instead Chamanga, Tana(defender) and the evergreen Katongo.

  7. # Mbesuma’s loss of form and Injuries are simply due to him being overweight. May he needs to be under Anthony Mwamba to make him lose weight. At least we know that he makes Ester Phiri lose 10kgs in two months. If this young man does not change he will become a has been very shortly.

  8. Well this is the type of boldness we need and expect from a National Team Coach. Well done ba Phiri, let Fat Boy go and regain his fitness at his club. Fat Boy needed this more than anybody. And I hope this marks the genuine beginning of his come back. There is 2010 to come and he is still young. It’s up to him to take this in stride and thank Patrick Phiri for giving him a reality check for free. Fat Boy go back to basics. You can come back. And we shall embrace you. You Have talent.

  9. For Phiri to drop him he is really off form. But please Chamanga should not be replacement for him Phiri should play Mayuka and others to cover tofotofo because tofotofo alishiba ukunyesha, he is a chancer just like Chamanga & Katongo. Jacob although he plays well he hardly scores. Call Harry Milanzi and Felix Nsuzu. Let this South Africa Division 2 player come back. Phiri should also play one defender as defensive midfielder other wise we in sheet. 24 players I think Tana will come back next.

  10. Hey Coach
I see you are reall serious about winning this trophy! Lets go! Lets go! Lets go! Lets go to Ghana and triumph!

  11. This decision made by PP has come at a right time.We can not live on past glory. This guy is long gone.He failed to make it at Portmouth, failed at CS Maritimo and now even fails to make the bench at Bursaspor.Collins needs to check himself before he wrecks himself. There are enough strikers to perform the job in his absence and we can not rely on “Sembe”.This is the big show and we need the Big bullets “ifi polopolo”.Let him watch from the stands as he has been doing the whole season.

  12. I was a sportsman myself. I played soccer back home. It takes a lot for player to a star. Displine, puncuality, self motivation, teamwork for most sport displine like football. Tactics and technics play also a role in any sport. Strategical thing and above psycological preparedness is vital. Its aweful for a player to come late into camp and it demolises other players. PP has acted correctly I have followed Mbesumas behave when comes to national duty he has been a very disappointing.

  13. Now my advice to all youngster,Talent is a temporary thing, stars are born everyday, use your talent before it becomes useless. Remember age also catches up. I believe most pipo in life has had come to the end of a road and they dont know where to turn to. Turn to the lord to open another door for you when on is shut. Sorry for Mbesuma, I hope its a lesson for him.

  14. Egypt began their countdown to defending the African Nations Cup title with a 3-0 friendly drubbing of fellow qualifiers Namibia on Saturday.
The Pharaohs play Mali next on Thursday in the United Arab Emirates and Angola in Portugal three days later before opening their Nations Cup Group C campaign against Cameroon on January 22 in Kumasi, Ghana.
Amr Zaki, from Cairo club Zamalek, scored twice in the second half of a match predictably dominated by the five-time champions in the southern town

  15. Hands up brother PHIRI.faced with no dependable strikers or goal poachers, whats next for the MIGHTY CHUCHU 11?

  16. CAN SOME PLEEEEEEAASE TELL ME WHAT WENT WRONG?
WAS IT PLUMPNESS? WAS IT FITNESS OR UNSUITABILITY? WAS IT BEER? zambia’s most consumed beverage.

  17. The only problem with zambian brothers is that they fail stomach it when accosted with the truth. TO BE HONEST, YOU DO NOT DESERVE THAT SPOT AT THE AFRICA CUP FINALS IN GHANA.DENYING DERSEVING TEAMS TO TAKEPART. SHAME ON YOU!! SHAME ON YOU!! VIVAE SUDAN VIVAE EGYPT!!

  18. Looks like Osama Bin Ladin (aka Abdulaziz )has hijacked this blog. Can somebody please alert George Bush to smoke him out of here? Didn’t know he could even coin a phrase like Chuchu 11. Is this the new form of Suicide bombing being given a trial run here?

  19. Mbesuma will regain form and play again. It is not the end of the road it is just that he is off-form now. We should not be so haed on him. He has done us pround before and I am sure he will again.

PP is the coach and he has made a decision which must be supported by all of and lets not alienate the young man.

  20. it seems Abdul Aziz is on local leave from training in the mountains of Afghanistan!! Fellow contributors, worry not, his leave will end soon. With the high demand for suicide bombers it is unlikely he will return to irritate us!!

  21. BROTHERS, YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE COMPETITION FOR THE NEXT 16 YEARS ATLEAST. THE SAME MONEY YOU ARE USING IN SENDING THESE boys(not MEN) U CAN USE IT FOR SOMETHING VITAL IN YOUR POOR CONUTRY. A SHEER WASTE OF MONEY. HOW CAN YOU COMPETE WHEN AT HOME YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE…….. NOT EVEN HAVE ONE STADIUM TO HOST AN INTERNATIONAL MATCH!!!! SURELY NOT EVEN ONE!! ALL YOU KNOW IS SELF-AGGRANDIZING, ALL THE TIME BRAGGING

  22. START WITH IMPROVING YOUR SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURES SINCE YOU LOVE SOCCER SO MUCH ONE UPTO STANDARD STADIUM WILL DO

  23. Good job PP, at least dropping Collins shows that he is serious with his job and really in control. Now, I have watched Chamanga and I know he tires before the end of 90 minutes and sometimes he lacks strength on the ball, he is easily disposessed, however, he is quiet creative, We needed a guy like Milanzi who has a bit of power play, sometimes you need to intimidate the defenders just by your presence in the area. Milanzi could have partnered well with James. The Boy Mayuka,…

  24. I saw him play in Canada, he is fantastic in front of goal, all he needs is a holding attacking midfilder, he can do the job. Its a pity Andrew will not be there. If Zambia can beat Sudan without Chris Katongo and Isaac Chnansa in the lineup, it will be a big marale boosterwhen we face Cameroon and Egypt where we will only need draws to go through to the next round.

  25. Ba mwenye nama arab muli chushi bane, I have been all the North African Countries and I have seen it for myself, so iwe Dr. Abdulaziz (Chi…ka….la..chakwa wiso na Allah nungu pono wine) stop showing off. Nga nsamia nao ninani ich…pa…to, mwalilwala bonse mwe balungwana imwe. Brother, pono ata se kwene iwe. we ma..wa..na..wa mbwa…we VIVA DR. Abdula aziz hahahahahahaha, wanya

  26. The team will do well as the strikers would very much like to prove a point, that Mbesuma is not Zambia, I look forward to travelling to Ghana, I will be there

  27. Abdulaziz, nade nade, chamu nade, chapara chapara, cha mu nade meaning mwenye mwenye mwenye mwenye, piri piri, chapati

  28. There are better ways of making suggestions to your own country. You are simply a ‘double’ a real impostor. Your clown ways wont cut it. We all know stadia are a priority but we can not go Osama to bring about change, change is in making baby steps like the move by Coach Phiri. Please do not be a sadist, let’s work with what we have now and hope for bigger and better strides in the nearest future. We can not stand and pave way for those we have legitimately won to go for the tournament. Peace.

  29. If only our team could have the hunger we have seen in ´the young Arsenal team this season, I wouldn’t be worried. The only problem with our team is that they start well but then lose composure towards the end.
Does anyone here have the song “Italia 90” (I don’t remember the correct title) by the late Chris Chali? Remember the song that talks about the Zambia Vs Zaire game in 1989? If anyone has it, let me know here…

  30. Mulenga moving to Israel
    Posted: 2008-01-10 09:44

Pretoria University winger Clifford Mulenga has joined Israel Super division side Maccabi Petach Tikva on a three-year contract with a signing on fee worth more than R2.5-million.

  31. Fimakula fibaiche ifi? i don’t understand why we still cling to useless chaps like him.. good ridance.let the coach try out other serious young lads. this boy is already destined for poor finishing just other zambian footballers? no focus…they live for the moment? to hell with him.

  32. I just wanna thank coach Phiri for dropping Collins Mbesuma. Like someone has earlier said Collins has done proud before and we should all hope for him to become a better player next time. It also saves as a warning to all the players in the team to be on their toes and work harder each time as we are not playing names, mwabobeni ba Phiri. If FAZ had organised these kinds of outing we was going to know which player to call unlike now people are calling for Harry Milanzi and others in the team

  33. Good riddance to bad rubbish!Lyonse nga aisa mukuteya bola ninshi alalubapo kukutemwisha ma shake shake.Nomba yamwinisha alefilwa ukonda.

  34. Nangu tuluse, nangu tuwine, nangu batwabe fwebene “Zambia Chipololpolo.” So iwe ka Abdulaziz walid just be in the desert

  35. IM&BaKitwe good points from you 2. good decision by PP, i hope we can make fast progress in defense. as others have pointed out from the highlights, our defense was in disarray. extremely disorganized and uncomfortable, this is what let us down last time, we must not give away easy chances to our opponents. i see too many players making tackles and losing position, by all means challenge the ball but don’t lose out. we lack hight, but it is no excuse for poor D. we can improve allot in training.

  36. Guys you should ignore the Abdulaziz guy. If you become racist and start insulting Indians and all other Arabs because of one fool you are allowing him to expose your lack of maturity. For all you know he may not even be an Arab he could just be a rabblerouser. I dont think we Zambians are racist but now I am seeing uwarranted racial insults on the blog. If you identify someone as a fool leave him to his rantings. Otherwise people might not notice the difference

  37. our coaches are useless too..A coach who has stretegy can chose tall players and convrt them to defend..peter chitala was of them..Coach compose your team to way u want to play..Mbesuma, good ridance, hope he learns..he was rushed to europe, Kalu wawona ka wantng 2 cash quick..that romanian told u

  38. WELLDONE BA PHIRI it is a well recived decision indeed. We can only hope for the best from now onwards. We have tried our best preparation wise of course there is still room for improvement but also there is room for Optimism. BA CHIPOLOPOLO GO GO FORWARD and Ba Phiri tiyeni nencito Bakam’ba!

  39. Abena Zambia bwafya.. “Icalo bapanta abantu bamwena ku nkoko”. It is justfiable that Mbesuma has lost form due to fitness barrier which he can over-come. But please avoid insulting him but support him, he was once your HERO but today you call him a ZERO? Even Tana deserves greater respect than he has received to some of these bakaponya! Lets grow up people. Most Zambians have been spoiled by the Post negativity.

  40. Hello Zambians bros I think I know who this aziz Abudulla is I will take care of this mother f@@@@@@ker for everybody. As for the team I really don’t know as I have not been impressed except when they beat SA. Right now I am busy with Obama tying trying to beat Billary Clinton I want to get an office in the west wing.

Otherwise home is home and I wish the boys all the BEST I understand all the frustrations it has been a long time in waiting we need to get that mother fu….. tropy in Zed.

  41. PP is serious. I have always liked this chap.
And Abdula ya ku chipata. If you are a moslem you should be ashamed of yourself. just please leave the name of Allah out of this, we are talking about a game.

  42. Mbesuma,
I am proud of the achievements you made in the past. What has happened to you is not a strange thing. As it is said “There is nothing new under the earth”. Don’t worry. Sit yourself down and really think about what you want to achieve. If you have any desire to make a “come back”, go for it my man. I have faith that with enough Desire, Courage, Faith and Discipline to act on your dreams you can come back in the big leagues. If Hillary Rodham Clinton can make a comeback with 24 hrs….

  43. I have great respect with for teams that come from the southern region. They are not an easy side. It takes an xtra effort to beat a team like Zambia. I hope we will able to tame them. Its tough team. Above all, just look forward to a good run as we play them

  44. Neil Lamptey who was supposed to be the next Abedi Pele and Ortega the next Maradona. Both disappointed. Zambians have had high hopes of Mbesuma and maybe the expectation weighed too heavily on him, I don’t know. What I do know is if he does not dust himself up or if someone does not slap some sense into him, he will disappear into obscurity instead of realising the potential he undoubtely possesses. Hopefully, Phiri has slapped the first wake up call into him!! Now it’s up to him!

  45. Can’t the coach do anything to help Mbesuma gain his fitness? England helped Beckham when he was not fit enough to play.He even slept in oxygen tank. We surely can do something for our boy. Lets not give up

  46. What a thankless game soccer is! Mbesuma was a darling of all not too long ago and every one wanted to be aligned to him and his shake shake. Today he is useless! When zed come back fast than required every will be wanting the blood of PP. OH WHAT A THANKLESS GAME!!!!

  47. kabudulazizi or is it abubdulazizi i was just trying to translate your name in local language…….if you are not careful your eyes will go blind when zamia lifts the cup….wecinangwa

  48. Let us not forget about the youngman collins, he needs everyone’s help.Patrick Phiri being the coach has seen where the youngman deficiencies are coming from. Its unthinkable to see the youngman’s talent go to waste.FAZ must get involved to help Collins.Let us not rejoice only when the sun is still up in the sky,but even when an eclipse strikes we must be ready to offer solutions.Collins has done the country proud and deserves great assistance in re-orienting himself.God help us.

  49. Patrick Phiri has finally named his Final 23 member team list.David Nkausu from the University of Pretoria who was reported to have traveled with Elijah Tana and 3rd choice goalkeeper Pito is not on the list. Felix Nsunzu was has replaced C.Mbesuma is on the list and the rest of the guys in Morocco.Elijah Tana is also in the Final team.
I have never watched Felix Nsunzu how good is the young man? He’s the only guy i have never seen play out of our front line players. Someone advice.

  50. #68 KUku, your concerns are vital but displine starts by yourself. Mbesuma would have done us good in the past but the kind of displine he has showed has partly brought him down. Remember the Zambia-Congo encounter. He thought he will escape this by coming late. No Mbesuma is just like any other Zambian holding a position which he has to execute duties to the expectation of the public. You cant expect to come on the last minute. Those acts are reserved for legends like Kalu, Chali because they..

  51. ctd could apt very easy. Johnstone Bwalya, was one of the punctual professions Zambia had when called to national team. Remember talent is not like education the bible says use your talent but when yes when you are still young. Collins has been playing around with his talent that God gave him. If doesnt want enter on the streets of Kafubu township its high time he rethinks about his career and do something responsible.

  52. #72&73 Easy well done but remember everything goes with education. Its time FAZ started putting awareness lessons to these young lads some whom have not even finished grade 7 or 9.You see discipline is a very wide phenomenon and its application is judgemental. Most of our boys come from humble backgrounds and are always in hurry to make money.Look at Elijah Tana,Harry chongo today and compare with their hay days,is this what we must see out of the people who brought us joy at one point?Awareness

  53. ctd(education)is key in development. These kids forget that every talent has its life span, otherwise the prophecies will be quoted out of context.I dont think FAZ offers them investment ideas when they are earning good money for the future. You can take the man to the bush but to remove the bush from man is a 60million dollar task.FAZ must form a dept to educate these lads about their futures in black and white. Its only Kalu who can boast of investment. The rest Chali, stone Nyirenda,Johnstone are

  54. just langusihing in diaspora coaching children in primary and secondary schools in Belgium, some are factory workers packing meat and vegetables which is a big shame to our country.

  55. #77 Kuku

How does a Zambian packing meat and vegetables diaspora become a big shame to Zambia. This is an individual decision. At least he is earning his living honestly and not involved in crminal activities. If an individual chooses to do that kind of job, it let be gentlemen.

  56. #74-77 Kuku, your observations and comments are pretty fine and very good. Remember of your classmates, you had the same teachers and you know what some are today. To sum this up I would say so many factors play a role. Yes FAZ has to educate our sportsmen and women. Its acutaully so easy we have already existing structures like schools, colleges, and other learning institutions. A number of clubs can also be used as education forums. Its high time we (FAZ) moved away from classic set of just ..

  57. ctd.. short lived careers of sportsmen and women. Kuku you are a educator by professor but remember you cannot take a horse to the family and force it drink water. All what FAZ has to do is to put structures where they can tap talents and educate them. I seen players like Aggrey Chiyangi buy house in Kabwe when they were playing soccer. These kinds of idols we our children who choose sport as a career can adore. Money is never enough the more you have it the more you want to spend on luxury.

  58. Kuku but one point I didnt get well from you. What has got the coming late for camping has to do with one leading a poor life. Over the examples that have been rised about working in a factory packing meating are sad reading. It all starts from school if you were just play soccer with taking education serios after you kiss good bye to your career you endup doing something you never thought to do in life. A career is like a line. I know pipo who have been sportsmen they either went in sport …..

  59. ctd. journalist, administration, or coaching. Klismann has just been appointed coach of Bayern Munich all the way from California. Sebastain Coe is sitting on the FIFA committee after he stoped running. He is now chief organisor of the olympics 2012 in London. The spice girls have go back to their music after almost a 10 years break. That black woman from Nigeria is/was UNO envy for children. There so many examples to this extend.

  60. Zambian Footballers don’t learn, probably because they don’t go far with their basic education. Mbesuma should have learnt from how Emannuel Zulu wasted his massive talent, Evans Mutale is another one who wasted his talent, Elijah Litana, the list is endless. Mbesuam ahould have seen how these people ended up paupers when they could have become legends, but all because of short sightedness and akabwalwa, its like they never existed. I commend Elijah Tana, I remember when he was called to the…

  61. ctd. national team for the first time, I was watching them train in Ndola and he was making mistakes, the coach kept shouting at him but he kept his head down and look who he is now. He is one of the most consistent players we have. Mbesuma after doing so well in SA, thought he could conquer the world, but sadly reality has cought up with him and this could as well be the begining of his demise.

  62. Dont go very far see where Munaile is now MP for Malole on as independent candidate. I can remember when he used to work for Bank in Lusaka.

  63. #77 Kempsyou seem not have seen my sense of reasoning.Iam rubbishing the jobs these guys are doing in diaspora but what Iam saying is these guys start the footballing careers when they very young and this should have posed as a challenge to FAZ to help them plan their futures cos they start getting exposed to alot cash which they only spend on prostitutes, booze and flashy cars etc. Some one should have taken a deliberate stance to go a step further to think ahead should any eventuality happen.

  64. Mwe Bantu how can the whole police camp have no electricity for three days because of non payments of bills!! Magande what is this?

  65. ctd Let us look at Miners, ZCCM took a very good iniative of resettling miners once their productive life was over. Most miners joined the miners joined the mines young and had no clue what it takes to plan for future. Most of them just waited for golden handshakes which came in lumpsum forms and out of this certain men eloped with concubines until all the money was finished and were sent into destitution. This is not so different from footballers.Does that bring you inline with my reasoning Kemps?

  66. #80 Easy mwaice wandi,I dont understand your question, read through my comments again , I dont remember talking about late coming and leading a poor life………..come on Easy wake up.

  67. #89 That is a proposal for the Budget, IAm not sure if it will go through.Magande likes calling World Bank/IMF to help him think about increasing taxes when we have so many Tax gurus in Zambia ranging from Deloittes,KPMG,PWC to Grant Thornton. These are guys who are always consulting their neighbours on how to make their marriages a success. But if it goes through it will be a plus cos the high copper prices will continue until 2009,so we dont need to take chances.

  68. #90 I got what you send but I was not just impressed on one statement you made that they teacher school children in disapora. What is long with that. Countries like Germany where football matters all ex profis have some kind of coaching. Could it be teacher children, under 20,17, national teams, some become directors, sport officers, other as I have already said they become journalist. Iam up I thought if you get exposed you learn something you can use in your future. Long at the dull woman …

  69. #92 Easy what Am alluding to is this, with a well planned secured future settlements for these guys that knowledge they are impacting on those foreign children could have been instead applied to our children and create pool of talent.Look at David Beckham and his Academy, he is glooming his own people for the future and doing fantastically well.Change management mwaice wandi must show us the way in the 21st century. We could have done the same and this could give us multiple gains for any retiree

  70. #94 You have missed it, its ITIL the best term to use because the real term for Service Level Management (SLM) it covers all processes like Contiuity, Change, Service delivery, Avalability,Knowledge, Information, Planing and support, Problem, Access, Incident, event, Request, Capacity and Service Level management to meet Service level objectives. The is a working service strategy because all you need Finance and Porrtfolio Management.

  71. #94 Kuku So you all just need is to monitor and evaluate these SLM Processes meet regular assessements and whereby one has to comply with & then quality control them .It is important to collect information under the cretrias of Avalability, confidentality, integrity the commonly used Term by Dr. KK during his rule, reliability , effectinency, efficiency, plus complaince. You security of these kids is missing during their development because our sports administrators lack planing and organsin

  72. #96 SLM is the second stage initially the following constitute what is meant by “change management,” at least three basic definitions come to mind:

1.The task of managing change-the making of changes in a planned and managed or systematic fashion

    2.An area of professional practice

    3.A body of knowledge

You need these things in place before looking at SLMs.

  73. In summary -Football being our Professional Area of practice

1.The task of managing change (from a reactive or a proactive posture)

2.An area of professional practice (with considerable variation in competency and skill levels among practitioners)

3.A body of knowledge (consisting of models, methods, techniques, and other tools)
So the starting point is Namulambe’s Ministry then FAZ,NSCZ,ZAVA etc thereafter we look at SLMs, Looking before you LEAP is usually sound practice

  74. # 98 Kuku I like it, you and me you make strategies for our communities and implement them. These is catalog you are talking about its like a libary with many books. You have to organise them in oder for the users to find them easily. I dont dispute what you say Change management is not a stand alone process it belongs to Service Level Managements. Any dont forget the Ministry of education is much viable as FAZ or sport Namulambe. A sport concept is lacking in our school & learning institutions

  75. Sow before you leap!!!!! Now we are even buying players from Liberia why not Brazil of Angola. The idea is good but where Liberia. Do they have a better league in the world. Okay this all what we need should lead to Lusaka Zambia because is a an economic activity. Esther has done it not only her and her close associates are benefiting but other industries like aviation and transport, Lodging and boarding, entertainment and sport. How wish we had so many Esthers so that every week in all cities..

  76. Lets us polish our English before we send, bushe kulemba ulubilo ati ba mbone, the English apa is really bad, let us improve. As for Mbesuma alikwata wishi chapwa

  77. IFIPATA

Sow before you leap!!!!! Now we are even buying players from Liberia why not Brazil of Angola. The idea is good but where Liberia. Do they have a better league in the world. Okay this all what we need should lead to Lusaka Zambia because is a an economic activity. Esther has done it not only her and her close associates are benefiting

  78. Kuku where did you get the information pertaining to what Charles Musonda, Stone and Lucky Msiska are doing?Let us not say things we are not sure of.Do not mislead people.I’m really disappointed with you coz in in case you do not know, Charles is doing pretty much better than Kalu.He was assistant coach for Gents(first division team in belgium)for a period of two years and then went back to Anderlect as coach for the reserve team.Lucky is a head Coach for a division two in belgium.

  79. #106 Derricknho

I agree with you. It is always good to bring information to the people but lets go a step further and ensure that the information we are disseminating is factual and confirmed. It is dangerous to speculate.

I have closely followed the careers of both Lucky and Charles and I safely say they are not packing meat and vegetables.

Lets not mislead one another on the blog.

  80. #106 & 107 which ever way you look at it Zambia could have benefited alot more from these guys as they were pioneers in young football.Dont dwell on petty issues of packung meat and vegetables see it from a bigger perspective. That is what kills us Zambians(petty issues). Its time we developed football and other athletes by putting in a more robust system which safe guards the futures of our sporting men and women.Today Mbesuma is on the decline and to some of you on this blog its a blessing.

  81. ctd from #108 instead of being partriotic and offering counter solutions to administrators of Football in Zambia.
I gave you an example of David Beckham, he is in LA playing for galaxy but he has his home country at heart through his academy and now come 2018 world cup campaign, he will be the ambassador for his country which is a very good gesture and legacy. We are human beings because of diginity of others.

  82. #102 to 103 Gramer, you see to be new hear. This is not an english classroom. If you want to learn english look for a course online they cheap and affordable. Here wat matters is understanding what the other person means. I doubt if you have a mobile foni, because the languages used there are not in their original context. Here some of us use Zangalish our friends understand this. Go back and learn Jelita and Mulenga.

  83. Now back to the topic, Kuku you are right our former sportsmen have done anything to the country because of the unthankful system we have in Zambia. Even Kalu it was just last year that he formed an academy of some kind. But they are some pipo who have done Zambia good i.e Oscar Mwaanga who is a former Basket player he founded Edusport, which has glued most of the players that went to the U-20 Worldcup last year. Other are the likes of Jonathan Chipalo who introduced Talent Indentification…..

  84. Programme one of Zambias representatives to the Seoul olympics in 1988. He founded Intercompany Relay (ICR) he was national coach of Zaaa. This is what we call love of your nation paying back. Other are Samuel Matete silver medalist Atlanta 1996. Zambia doesnt lack dedicated pipo all they need is support. Serious sportsmen are paying back to their communities that made them what they are today. Recently Tenant Chilumba was appointed head coach of Kabwe Warriors, Kenneth Malitoli has been ….

  85. PP is a very bad coach. How do you depend on strikers from the under 23 squad. The same who failed to qualify for the Olympics. The last time we beat South Africa 3:1; the South African coach, said Zambia had good players but they had no system of play, meaning our coach is bad. That showed in a follow up match, when we lost the COSAFA. We had 0 shorts on goal Chamanga was the key man. Then PP thinks Chamanga would perfom; What a coach. He should be fired… that man can’t take us to the W/cup

  86. Imwe you think you can perform wonders with inexperienced players. Thats a big tournament you people!!! Mbesuma creates chances. In case you don’t know, of the 3 gaols Katongo scored, Mbesuma engineered 2. At your own doors step in Chililabombwe, you saw how much effort he put in, taking on defenders so that Jacob can have space. And here you are not appreciating all that… TUKAMIMONA. PP how do you assess a player after 1 match???

  87. #115 Justin you are evil and you have less brains. You are not a compatrotic Zambian and you lucky solidality. Your Mbesuma despite being talented, he has been disappointing. I wonder what you will say if we win the cup with these players.

  88. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results-Albert Einstein. The two most abundant things in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity-Harlan Ellison.Stupidity is also a gift of God, but one mustn’t misuse it-Pope John Paul II.Kibaki clings to power, ODM on deadly rallies and the cheated voter with hopelessness. If stupidity got us into this mess, then why can’t it get us out-Will Rogers.Against stupidity, God Himself is helpless.

    Thomas Edison
“Dreams can come true, but there is a secret. They’re realized through the magic of persistence, determination, commitment, passion, practice, focus and hard work. They happen a step at a time, manifested over years, not weeks.”
    S. Russell, from Wishing and Hoping

  91. “Good fortune does not happen because of luck. When someone gets a promotion, some people see this as luck. If they took a closer look, however, they would soon recognize how much harder successful people have worked, how much effort they’ve given, and how much dedication and commitment they’ve demonstrated in order to go that extra mile.”
Catherine Pulsifer, from Luck, Do You Have It?

  92. Mbesuma is a disappointment also. When you come to europe his frieds at his age are becoming millionairs.I really don’t understand him.How does so one goes to better clubs and latter to be considered as unfit?I wish he would not see mpatamatu in him but a celebrite.I wish he would emulate kalu.

  93. Friends of Mbesuma tell him this maybe it will jerk him not to give up. There is always a second chance in life.
“We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light

  94. Iam proud to be Zambian but and don´t see us going any far in these games. The restructuring should start from Faz,coaches and players. It hurts to see to it that Zambia, once a powerful country in football will always be packing their bags in the first rounds. This Mbesuma and Tana saga tells it all. There is no more luck in the world of football nowadays, you have to be prepared to gain glory…….seen!!!!!!!!!!We wait and see.

  95. #127 We have first hand information, we are aware and its part of the game to lose to help seal lopholes. I know you want Elija to be included. Buy why should a coach bark for players that is why we need a pool like it was at the time of Zoom. He had 28 players who could replay each others. Competition mwaice Justin. I hope you can remember the likes of Samuel Choomba, John Soko, Watson Changwe, Eston Mulenga, Mordon Malitoli, In the field Patrick Kangwa, Chali, Lungu, many many Have confidence.

  96. I wonder what the optimists have to say now.
When we said this boy cant do any wonders at the AFCON when he is failing to perform any at his club we were called armchair critics, some “analyst” even said we had no “analytical” skills. But its all so simple, a matter of common-sense. Back in the day government, thru ZCCM, invested heavily in soccer and other sports starting from schools that is why the chipolopolo of that time yali yachabe.
With the jokes of nowadays, takuli oko tuleya.

  97. #108

It is unfortunite that you have elected to brand our quest for the truth “petty”. Are we trully petty or we have become petty because we have challenged your statements?

  98. I thank the minister of sport for rebuking FAZ on the white jerseys. Thank God Zambia is back with copper shirts and black shirts. That is our identity, representing our national colours.

  100. Cha! says: just help the young boy come to his senses,And Chipolopolo will do better, support them and remember this is just a game.

  101. This ABDULAZIZ Chap has gone into hiding. I think he might have blasted himself somewhere as a suicide bomber. Let his beleaved family watch the match tomorrow and see how we shall thump the muja eedini of Sudan.
