Sata thanks Kanyama voters

Share

Patriotic Front president, Michael Sata, has thanked the electorate in Lusaka’s Kanyama constituency for electing a PF member of parliament in last week’s by election.

Mr. Sata said the new MP, Gerry Chanda, has a task to adequately address problems affecting the people of Kanyama.

He was speaking at a press briefing.

Mr. Sata said his party will hold rallies in Kanyama this weekend to thank the electorate.

Col. Chanda replaces Henry Mtonga who died in South Africa last year.

Eight candidates, who included All Peoples Congress Party president Ken Ngondo, contested the Kanyama seat.

  1. I can see Mr. M. Sata in State House come 2011. With the first lady out of the 2011 race, I can’t see MMD or any other political party producing a candidate who will be as popular as Mr. Sata. I personally would like to see a younger person take over PF but Mr. Sata is just too popular to be beaten in any election. He had 2006 but the ‘riggers’ denied him his rightful place but 2011, if he runs for President, he will surely win. I don’t think the riggers will be able to do their tricks. PF needs to go rural if they want to make the next gov’t and get as many people across Zambia into the party as possible. PF right now looks to bemba, tribalists will capitalise on this issue,PF change!!

  2. Anonymous #2 says “PF right now looks to bemba, tribalists will capitalise on this issue,PF change!!”. What do you mean? To me it is the opposite, it is people like you and Sata promoting tribalism. Mazoka formed a party which was accepted in all corners of Zambia but the Bemba areas. If anything he invested a lot of money and time trekking to Northern province and Luapula seeking support but was label tribalist by the likes of you and Sata. Other politicians have tried the same (Ngondo, Miyanda, Sikota etc) but it is apparent that the likes of you and Sata can only go for their own people. Please clean your house before you call other houses as dirt.

  3. Kalusha Bwalya should stand for as Ruplican president, He has done a lot for Zambia, He is the most popular individual that can move the country forward, His seems to be the only one who cant be voted on tribal lines. He is appreciated in all the provinces of the Country. He also has good international connections and repected not only in Zambia but through out the world.

  4. Could not have been stated any clearer than that #3 Sincere. This tribal poison seems to spew from the same fellas who keep crying wolf! And Sata, the political dinossour Satarexnouxious, has been the spinmeister since 964 b.c.Why should he even be in the 2011 field when there are plenty of pragmatic fresher ideas from the likes of Miyanda,Sikota, HH etc..Is this not the same question being raised against the other Danielrosarous named Munkombwe? Can we not sensibly have discourse of diverse issues without invoking the tribal wolf? That’s right #2 that stench following you is coming from your house! Clean up time!

  5. namukolo, kalu is a grade 12..that guy is number one hustla..next time think b4 u open your mouth..how do suggest that kalu can be president,
u think that the all of zed is like kanyama…help us pls

  6. Ba kafula bwalya, please kaunda was not a grade 12,mandela was not a grade 12,its not about qualification, its about being smart in the head,Mwanawasa is qualified but he can`t do shit.

  7. imwe naimwe, Kalu as president? he couldn’t manage 11 grown men for 90 minutes and you want to give him 11+ million men and women for 5 to 10 years? namukolo, are you a groupie?

  8. Ndiyo za 5spin, you are now talking bullsh#*, How can you judge a man like that? it seems that alcohol abuse in our country is worse than I previously thought it was and Sata’s popularity is a direct manifestation of that.

  9. for your information ah Zulu, i’m neither an alcoholic or imbecile. yes, i can a judge a man like that because ultimately, i’m the chap that marks X on the ballot. looking for a cheesy debate, let’s talk about your warped view of freedom of expression.

  10. Indeed Mr Sata is the president in waiting. hate him or love him he is going straight to state house. His time has come just like Obama’s time has come. VIVA PF

  11. # 15 Wanzelu, Sata is the main news for now. PF seems to be winning against all odds. It is a rare occurence for an opposition party to be undisputed against the ruling party in the capital city. Let the pipo rejoice on their victory. This is a free country and freedom of expression is guaranteed so let Sata fever do its thing

  12. Sata.

I would like to make metntion that Sata has been to the University of Common Knowledge in the School of Life Experiences.

The man Sata is not that dull, he is actully crafty. This is how he has managed to create panic in the country. I personally was worried when he was seemingly winning in the 2006 persidential election, but we need to educate the voters carefully against his tactics if we have to get hope of bringing him to a politcal halt.

  13. SATA is right to refer to HH as an under 5 Politician. The guy is simply a manager , i wish he never distroyed UPND, on the other hand the win by PF was maginal. I dont beileve SATA will win 2011, i just wonder why we cant get anyone else SATA for me is just too old.

  14. #17, while you’re entitled to your opinion, you’re clouded by the sand in which you’ve buried your head. Sata is not going anywhere until God says so. ni zee ba kamba

  15. #19, God said it in 2006 and the same God said it loud in Chingola and now in Kanyama.
Uushumfwa pakanono napacikulu pene teti omfwe goes a wise bemba saying. Open your eyes and and ears please.
Unless other parties float better candidates, Sata is president come 2011!!

  16. Ladies and gentlemen, I made post #2 and what I mean is that certain people in rural Zambia from western, N/western, central, southern and a bit of eastern perceive PF to be too bemba not that PF is tribal but tribalists from these areas I have mentioned can use that against PF so if PF wants to make the next gov’t they need to reach out to these areas and win hearts and minds. I’m not tribal in anyway, I’m just making an honest assessment of what I think is the situation. PF has to project itself as a national party concerned with all Zambians and the message needs to reach all corners of the nation. Honesty is the best policy I believe.

  17. # 18 marginal win or not PF has achieved alot considering it is competing with Government machinery. We all know Sata was robbed in 2006 for him to still be in control of major cities just confirms that. If the trend continues Sata is definitely going to whip any presidential hopeful come 2011.LPM has tried to bring Sata down but it wont work because the time for PF to form Government has come.# 17 why would you want to bring Sata to a political halt? Get a LIFE

  18. PF is taking it come 2011. I respect Sata as a self-educated man. University degrees are over-rated, one only needs to look at the American higher education system to see that any fool can attend ‘college’ and come out with a degree. Watch American teen movies where college life is depicted as haven for wanton illicit sexual behaviour and alcohol consumption.

#17 hehehe: I like your comment on “University of Common Knowledge in the School of Life Experiences.” This is the best qualification one can have.

Guy Scott for President if Sata is taken away from us before 2011. We need a mature, level-headed, anayltical ZAMBIAN for the job. [yes, Mr. Scott is Zambian as you and I]

  19. #23 walasa. Sata needs to reach out and use indigenous people in these areas to woo support. The tribal thing will surely be wiped out.

  20. as to whether PF is tribalist i think its true, its majority Bemba. Just make an anaysis of its members of Parliament. Most PF MPs are Bemba……….we cant dispute this fact. In lusaka in exception to Guy and Given the rest are Bembas

  21. Sata has time to go into the rural areas. If he starts now i am pretty sure he will get the rural vote. The writing is on the wall. Maureen has seen it, it is time MMD saw it as well. Bane ni pa chibwato come 2011

  22. But #28 Ndife… If you know a little Zambian demographics you will realize that 1 in 3 Zambians is Bemba by tribe. [If you factor in other Bemba-affiliated tribes that figure could be close to 40% of the Zambian population].

e.g. I am Bemba. I however can’t speak Bemba, only English and Nyanja having grown up in the UK and Lusaka. Most of my friends in Zambia [perhaps 60%] are Bemba. My girlfriend is Bemba. But can you still call me tribalist? Simple mathematics my friend.

  23. #28 you are fake. How about brother Given Lubinda? If you have read “the going to the rural areas statements”, what we are simply saying or implying is that Sata needs to wipe out the perception that PF is not tribal by going and starting to campaign in Western, NW, Southern and Central. Last time he had to prioritise strategically the places where he was most likely to win and obviously it had to be CB, Northern, Eastern, Luapula,Lusaka etc. By the way Nchanga PF MP is Tonga. Mr Lukanga in Kankoyo is Lunda. Get a life my brother and join us.

  24. Undertaker the point is in Lusaka only 2 out of 6 or 7 PF seats we have Bembas…………ha you only site 2 Mps being Lunda and Lozi, the rest are majority bemba its a fact.

  25. Ha i dont agree with your maths and since you left Zambia i guess u r grey on your demographic statistics. Its not every 1 in 3 that is bemba in Zambia. By the way i dont have anything with the tribe i have everything with PF being too Bemba…..

  26. And finally its not the age that will barr SATA its the section that says he should have minimum grade 12 certificate. Plz tell SATA to enroll he can seat for the exams next year.

  27. #33 Ndife. I assure you my friend, about 30% of Zambians are Bemba. Google it. Or better yet, got to CSO offices and get data.

By the way I am far from grey on my demographics, I spend 3months of a year in Zambia, I am much aware of the goings-on in the Motherland.

You don’t agree with my maths or perhaps your acute ignorance has suddenly compounded with your political bias?

  28. well i dont think am using any derogative words in my expression i think we leave it this way, u now behaving like Mrs Clinton!!!!! please just put across what you want to say . 1 to 3 is one third of the population which is 30% in your earlier submittion you said close to 40% which is which? But the truth is it isnt that large. Am in Lusaka i can get you the statistics. By the way Bemba is not a tribe………when i refer to it i mean people from Northern Province.

  29. Ndife would you agree with me that education is not a guarantee at all to good leadership? Chuchu for example is a very qualified lawyer and yet his actions/thinking is totally outrageous as he even fails to follow the rule of law. Remember the appointment of Dr Mumba as VP was against the constitution and yet he went ahead to appointment him. As if that is not enough, think of the recent appointment of the Minister of Agriculture. Where on earth have witnessed the appointment of two persons to the same portfolio. MADNESS!!!! hey!!!! At its worst. Sata is by far sane than most of the so called educated chaps in LPM’s government.

  30. Undertaker i totally agree with you on education, but that will be the stance the NCC will vote on and believe you me , they will use it. SATA is like Hitler very appealing to the people……………and how does the MMD counter him , they will use the NCC.

  31. Mr M.C SATA is also a tribalist!!! when Emmanuel Kasonde was standing on the National Party ticket he stated at a rally in Nothern Zambia that if anyone voted for Kasonde he/she was voting for the Lozi Party…….believe you me that was the talk that was spread in the 2006 elections. It was decided people of western province should never to Vote for SATA.

  32. Ma Bro Ndife. You know what? the barring of Sata by the illegitimate NCC will seem as if everyone has some Sataphobia (Fear of Sata). That in itself is not okay. Let the people talk. Remember if Sata is voted as president its all because the majority wish so. In any case let no one be barred. I liken Sata to Obama because he is very inspirational and want people to hope for the best. Its high time we gave people new hope. I exepected Hichilema to do the same but the chap is a situational leader who had no political ambition until our BULL Mr Mazoka died.

  33. #3 I desist from commenting on tribe. However, I would like to make an observation.I lived on CB prior to 2001 and attended several UPND rallies. The buzz word among some careless party cadres/officials was fixing and teaching northerners and Bemba speakers a lesson. Naturally some people felt unwelcome and threatened, including those that went to the rally with a motive of joining forces with UPND. Similarly if Sata’s PF makes Southerners and Tongas and indeed other non bemba speakers feel the same way, then it will end up like UPND.It is not just the leader but all party functionaries that must be all encompassing.

  34. Undertaker, honestly from your analysis of SATA do you think you can liken him to Obama……….no…. i mean SATA to Obama??? do u think we as Zambians consider lifestlye??? Just recently he got himself into trouble (Passport Issues) the lie about the one way ticket to the US. The 50,000 dollars for a Four day stay in the US thanks to Taiwan Tax payers…please be real

  35. I’m disapointed about young people liek you looking at a 70 yrs man to rule your country.Well, maybe 70 by 2011.Do you guys ever think of your generation as leaders, no I suppose. The guy who talked of G Lubinda got my attention abit, thats what we should be thinking, this dinosaur (SATA) has been in authority since Welesiki left Zed.Come on be forward looking, over-look tribal issues, thats why HH does not do it for me, coz he punted a tribe.Lets dig for young, fresh, educated and forward-tinking leaders in MMD, PF, UPND, etc.

  36. Satamania is here. Wether NCC tries to stop him the man’s time has come. Who thought in America a black man would cause so many ripples? better still who thought Jacob Zuma with no education would lead the mighty RSA. There is time for everything. Kibaki tried to cheat Odinga ,lives were lost so you cant stop something if time has come.Try and stop Sata illegaly and Zambia will pay a bitter price. Let Sata rule for 10 years and he will be gone another one will take over. Presidency is not personal to holder, its for all Zambians. SATA for 2011, you have my vote. (Obama for 2008)

  37. Moyoba spot on….i think if someone today talked of Given Lubinda, Guy Scott, even Prof Chirwa (though his got his issues )and many more young men. We should plz look forward to youthful blood. we need someone to revive this country. we have all we need the water, natural resources, skill , minerals etc now we need someone to manage it period.

I for one will never want a 70 yr old SATA to take charge its as if as a country we lack other people.
Beleive you me we have alot of young men who are doing so well that can drive our country.

Its a pity Given is now scared of even saying he will stand in PF.

  38. #47 Miyoba. Did you know that Ronald Regan became president at the age of 74years. Worse off the currrent president of senegal is older than sata and yet that guy is enjoying his second term as president. With Maureen Mwanawasa bowing out of the race due to Hilary Clinton’s situ i bet the next on the train is the Cobra. Let him spit some stuff into our eyes so that we can see and move.

  39. # 47 Miyoba , we had a young president by the name of Chiluba, what did he do? Everything he did was for young pipo.He had no forward vision, he just sold what others had built.LPM is older and more stable , imagine if his brain was 100%. Now we have Sata, an older and stable states man, imagine what he would do for Zambia? he has the experience, the contacts, the know how. whatelse do you need.Sata is the right candidate for 2011. Just by sampling the comments on this blog it is a foregone conclusion. He is Zambia’s next president

  40. # 49 ndife, give us names of young men you think can lead Zambia? Try and make a shadow cabinet if you can. if you cant then shut the hell up and vote for Sata

  41. Chikubuso, i totally dont really have a problem with his age , its his lifestlye, i for one think his personal track record as a worker is superb its his lifestlye that i question and is paramount to me as a voter. How can you convince me to vote for some who requests for USD 50,000 to be used for 4 days….just convince me. if i voted for such a person how much more will this person get if he went on a 2wks trip or 10 days trip???……….and this is not the only issue

  42. List of Zambians that can make a difference

    1. Bwalya Ngandu
    2. Chiyunga Chiyabi
    3. Dr G Chabwera
    4. Costine Chilala
    5. Given Lubinda
    6. Guy scott
    7. Prof. Chirwa
    8. Mark Odonell
    9. Bob Sichinga
    10.A Mkandawire- ZACCI
    11.Dr. A Ngandu
    12.Frank Mutubila
    13.Chella Katwishi
    14.John Kaite ZCCM
    15. Costine Chilala
    16. Robert Simeza
    17. Mutembo Nchito
    18. Lewanika PS
    19. Silvia Masebo
    20. Micheal Chilufwa SATA( Not President)

  43. But iwe Ndife how about the many unjustified trips Chuchu take rach year abroad? Have you ever sat down to see whether they are justified? I am praying the many young men in MMD do not include Tetamashimba, Mulongoti, Shakafuswa etc. Sata’s lifestyle is simplistic as he even mingles with the least placed in society. Contrast that with Chuchu who is always surrounded by the affluent and yet before he was told to wake by Kafupi the man used to be sickly and weak. Sata will do it and this time better.

  44. Seriously….I think people need to look at the situation in zambia , like the players who actaully played the game and not incompetent zambian coaches from the side lines…….who may have played in divison 10. I know it seems more people read the negative than the positive….but PLEASE, state the positive in the New Deal Government……..I dont see SATA in state house, however popular he is in bembaland and with Kanyama residents…….But as someone stated Above……ZAMBIA IS NOT KANYAMA….Nor is it full of Kanyama theories-…..Hence why kanyama still looks like that year on

  45. it is healthy for democracy that the opposition win ever so often.the progress zambia has made needs to be translated into tangible benefits for it to be appreciated by all.I’m sure MMD are working on this translation as we look to who will occupy plot1 next.removing a ruling party is the most difficult thing to do in Africa…lets not say too much as the next few months will silence alot of us!!

  46. #52 U are out of order. Why impose ur choice on other pipo? “Vote for sata” is abit arrogant.Populism is not healthy for a nation like Zed, which need shrewd business men to attract investors.Someone said LPM does not mingle with pipo, well, its becoz he has a job, unless uncle michael, who has time to attend to any funeral in townships. The chanllenge for PF and Sata is to sell themselves to pipo in rural zed, who have differnet priorities than pipo in kanyama.I’m still disappointed that we can produce anu young turks anymore.

  47. …..Keep yourself busy and u wont be an expert politics like number 54, who seems to know who out if over 10 million people can be a president…….!!!! If you know so much, please let me know…which one of those 20 people has neither been fired, falled to run a company or just cant simply manage his own president…….!!! We all have problems….but learn to understand….you cant let us pick the best weed from a garden of weeds only !!! I would rather you say, that is SATA’s DREAM Cabinate

  48. I’d be happy to have an older, experienced president of Zambia. One needs only look at veteran politicians, the likes of McCain and Reagan. Men of substance. Few in Zambia have the political experience as MCS, at all levels of power. I like his fiery spirit. Tough but fair.

  49. Kolwe mukulu satana wamuntu !!! hahahahahahahaaaa….come 2011,the Constitution won’t allow him.kwasila and we shall see ,if don’t want boycott and see who loses out…

  50. #19 narrow wins in both Chingola and Kanyama can not be used to pronounce Sata as the next Zed President.

    # 24 Sata’s way of doing things is terrible. I personally would not want to see him lead this country from plot 1. He simply is not trustworthy. His track record includes campaigns for Chiluba’s third term, passport make-up issues, lies about a one-way ticket to Harvard (USA), sponsoring call-boys at Kulima Tower to harass UNZA students, the list is I would write endless.

While I have a lot of respect for the way he convinces myopic cadres, I feel sad when people who are able to reason can allow themselves to be cheated on petty promises.

  51. #59 You have released data which I call sound.

Now, fellow Zedians, i would like to inform those who are quick to predict about things they are not in control to be careful. Dennis Liwewe used to normalyy say “let us wait and see”. This I suggest should be our attitude as we debate these issues. Sata may only be President of Zambia when it might happen. As for now, he is just PF (leader).

Zambia is not lusaka and copperbelt provinces. Zambia comprises of all 9 provinces. And Sata has a lot of work to do if he ever hopes to be leader of Zed in 2011.
On blocking his candidature in 2011 Pres. elect., there is no need to bar him.(NCC)Let him contest then win or lose without excuses.

  52. Myopic cadres is the very right word to use ….really myopic or short-sighted if you like…these chaps can’t see beyond tomor.

  53. #54 Ndife, your list is suspect bwana. What does CJ DJ have to offer? the man was once employed by Kafupi as a press secretary but soon got the boot due to his “enjoy” with Castro! Some of he individuals you mention are credible but let’s not assume just because one appears alot in the media then it automatically makes them leadership material?

  54. Sata is not the type of leader our beloved country requires, but the question one begs to ask is – what desperation drives people to support a thug politician? Answer is simple, our people lack any viable choice, Levy is arrogant, full of rhetoric & not approachable. HH simply cannot fit into the great Andy’s shoes and the rest are mere jokers. Sad part is, the credible men & women we have, stay away 4rm the filth of Zambian politics & the result is the present chaos.

  55. Walabila Tarantino!satana aliye nzelu namutima wacimuntu.ayofya mudala wakayena.HH kumupasa zaka zitatu azakula.Miyanda aliye antu ndi a Ngondo.Saki ndi BY kaya mwe.

  57. Talatino right on the spot mudala……..manje its the reason i feel others can came up and drive this country. Otherwise we r doomed.

  58. Look at the same list now from UPND and MMD Central province. You will notice that there is a tribal inclination but that does not make UPND tribal i believe. I feel Kasongo from Bangweulu can never stand in sinazongwe. We all know the reason. Period!!!

  59. As for the MMD chuchu the worst of all nepotists has managed to appoint almost every family tree Jim, Jane and Jack in the government. Of course what do you expect from such a fella.

  60. Thanx ba Anony. Do you think with such type of leadership as exhibited by Chuchu this country is as stable as we would want it to be? NO. Chuchu and the rest need to do more than just eat like PIGS. Talk of Shakafuswa for example. The Man is not even ashamed to say he is Chuchu’s nephew. What a way. Thats why when findlay came out the way he did though he is some defiler, i totally agreed with him. MMD and the gorvenment is like its Mwanawasa’s personal empire. Maureen i strongly suspect almost stood as MMD president when she heard Hilary was doing the same but has withdrwan simply because Hilary has been taught a lesson. The same was bound to happen to Zambia. I

  61. I think the barrier we need to destroy in this country is the tribe tag! i should be able to stand in mongu even when my home village is from from Katete as long as i have been in Mongu and been there for a period of time and worked with the local communities.

As long as we shall Vote and say his from my province , his my tribe then believe you me we shall end up like Kenya one day.

  62. What a way. 63. SATA has a good verison. but he is a MUGABE TYPE. AND FOR GODSAKE THE MAN WILL 75 YRS OLD. NOT IN ZED WE HAVE ALOT OF GOOD YOUNG CHAPS.

  64. Tribal,Tribal,Tribal again and again,…Mark my words ‘we are headed for Kenya or worse still Rwandan kind of situa.

    People never learn from experience…

  65. # 84 You are definately writing about something that might happen. However, we have a chance to change or correct our mentality felllow Zedians before it is too late.

I have read on some character’s postings that a Tonga will never rule Zed. What on earth does this statement amount to? pure TRIBALISM!

The earlier we shall learn to respect every other Zedian around us, the better the future will be for us. Some people on here think that they are more Zedian than others. What are shame and denial of facts.

Gentlemen and ladies, we have reached a stage where mentalities that were hugely imparted in us by the colonialists must come to an end.

  66. Pres. KK tried all he could to bring us to a realisation that we will only develop Zed in areas of aspects of life if we shall forge ahead as a people: one Z, one N.

Its time to uplift living standards for all Zambians: Bemba, Kalunda, Kaonde, Lozi, Nyanja, Tonga, etc (in total 71 or so tribes). Cancers like expressing terrible tribal remarks will not help anyone.
Our friends in Japan, Europe and the US are busy developing technologies that are changing the way people live whle we are busy fighting over which tribes man must rule our country.Sad indeed and shame on all those who want to make others look like less-Zambians. Let us all endeavour to change our mindsets.

  67. I think PF really stands to win in 2011 if it now works on the rural votes. The MMD is in self destruct mode and its anti corruption banner is in ruins with the damning reports from the Auditor General. The MMD have been stealing since they came to power and have done zero for the “common man”.

  68. Trully sata should thank Kanyama people
But what is the daughter to the late mr Mtonga saying because she thought PF would not return the sit Sham to u my young sister oooooooo sham

  69. Why cant one of us here on this blog or elsewhere in Zambia or wherever think about running? common folks, what is the purpose of all the education, knowledge, international exposure, money (legal expert LLB Phd)and all the collective attributes represented here if all we can think of is Sata for president? why not you or me? from the multiplicity of debates on everything here, it seems we know the issues so whay not step up to the plate? you just want same old same old who as someone observed saw Welenski off at the airport to still rule? I am sure you can improve on that

  70. #90 You are right, we need to step up but Hon. Sata is ahead of the popularity game. I don’t think people even know why the like Sata anymore, it is just that the man has been around the political arena for such a long time. It’s like his name is equal to leadership. I’m sure if Sata wins in 2011 he will be in office for one term only due to age. Let the old man have his way, even in his gov’t there will be room for young people to take up roles so it’s not all doom and gloom! Even if MMD wins my due to exccessive rigging, there will be young people willing to take up positions in the 2011 gov’t.

  71. I actually think PF is good for Zambia because the party gives MMD sleepless nights. PF, UPND and may be ULP should unite to form gov’t in 2011. Sata should be President, HH minister of finance and Sikota Minister of justice. Nevers Mumba and Lubinda should be Vice Presidents. The rest of the posts should be distributed among the young upcoming leaders.

  72. I would rather have MMD in power than than Sata being the president of Zambia. The man who worships Robert Mugabe whose people are suffering and hav been turned into beggers. Zambia must be cursed country. It is an insult to propose that HH can work under Sata. HH is a far intelligent person than Sata amd that is why Sata is always targetting as he sees a threat coming from HH.
Another surprising is seein people of Kanyama voting for a person who does not have a kantemba in that area. Where your riches are is where your heart is, so Gerry Chanda will not do anything in Kanyama.

  73. we need someone who is going to take zed forward,,, LPM is full of theory,..Zambia needs a practical man..
    viva SATA.

  74. Kulibonesha i agree with your remarks, the problem that we have is that Zambian politics is about who has money to bribe the people, who tells the most lies which every voter esp the Kanyama type will agree to and not politics which focuses on issues, programmes and how one will source the funds to implement those programmes. No track record is requred, nothing in terms of lifesyle, social values and family. No program on Domestic or foreign Policy. Its all about i will put up a school, a clininc , good roads , offer you jobs but no link with where funds are going to came from. In the end we vote them into parliament. 5 yrs down the road they are back with campian money. beer for the youths.

  75. Kashimani,

How many intelligent people have failed us! you praise HH so much, tell me have you found out how unethical his been , liquidating companies reaping off the assets. How does one get a massive 23 Bn kwacha in a short period of time? He was a Partner at GT do you know that GT is still among lowest paying Accounting firms in terms of remuneration of its staff? this is after they gain huge profits. Whereas you can say his intelligent his not it all becasue his not even a politician. An intelligent Politiican always ceases the opportunity, he could have voiced his concern over SATAs Passport or the 50,000 USD used for 4 days. what kind of a Politician is HH under 5 i agree

  76. Sata’s support seems to come from 2 types of people: BEMBAs and KAPONYAs. The latter support him becoz they just want a bemba president at all costs. The former support him becoz they can only excel in the midst of CHAOS which only sata is capable of bring to this country. Luckily God will spare Zambia by calling sata to “eternal life” before 2011.
Abash tribalism, abash lumpenism, abash sata.

  77. i am not suprised at how diffiult you all are finding it so difficult to even name a suitable candidate for 2011. there is a saying that ‘the mistake you see in others are your own terrible mistakes’. judge not because you shall be equally be judged. the people you have mentioned and discarded are all from our life style profiles. their failures and merits might as well reflect the kind of mediocre or meritous society we are in.one thing for sure they did not fall from hell or heaven like manna i suppose. get educated.

  78. They are called “co boyz” Kamponya in our local language hahahahhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh why are you annoyed anonymous. Its True most PF Supporters are Bemba so to change the party tribe tag please now elect Given Lubinda or Guy scott for 2011

  79. #101 Ba Ndife I didnt mention any tribe in my contributions in 100 above? Its your big mouth which is being tribal! I thought I only talked about Kaponyas only, what is your problem you want us to start being tribalist again. ZOZI ARE LABISHI TOPIC MY FRIEND

  80. Magande for president, Masebo for vice. …. MMD version, Scott for pres and Lubinda Vice PF version, HH for pres and Masebo for unity govt. … hehehehe

  81. 102 you seem to try to run away from reality. Reality is that UPND is Tonga, PF is Bemba, ULP Lozi, UNIP Easterners only MMD is the party for the people.we should try our level best to remove this issue and not to try and run away from it. I am not preaching tribalism!!! because am not.My concern is we should join these parties not because the President is of my tribe but that his credible and will represent my views and aspirations.we should help our people to vote in that way. If this becomes reality i will stand in Mongu even when my tribe is bemba..

I agree with Miyoba Magande for President Masebo for Vice or Lubinda for President Guy scott for Vice…..

    Abash Tribalism in Zed

  82. Lubinda is overrated, his Lozi like name puts him out of the race for plot 1. He is a good debater though, I think he can do well as foreign affairs minister. Masebo should not be in government, she is the one who likes saying if you don’t vote MMD you won’t see development when soliciting for votes, that’s bad leadership. Guy scott should be agriculture or mining minister. PF has a lot of other young talent to tap into. Magande as a former IMF employee is a natural sellout, he would privatise the whole country to the IMF/ WB, clearly Zambia does not need him. While Sata is the man right now. Mbita Chitala can make a good president too. Nevers Mumba should be VP again.

  83. #108 the moment u start labelling pipo by their tribe, you lose it and U have just done that.If Lubinda is a good leader as pipo say, by the way, not so familiar wit the guy.PF pipo tell he is a good leader and if he has held kabwata not matter what MMD do, speaks volume of the man.Magande has run our economy wit alot of new energy Zed needed this fresh development and foucs. So maybe lets elevate him to pres and a woman for vice pres would do us good in terms of gender equality.Thats for MMD.UPND has HH do not know any one for vice, PF scott and Lubinda, do not know any strong woman there.

  84. 108. I am very dissapointed with the fact that u say Coz LUBINDA is LOZI hence Plot 1 rules him out. These are the issues we need to fight, did he choose to be lozi? so which tribes are eligible for Presidency in Zambia? Its a shame that with the education u have u sink so low like that am so dissapointed.

  85. # 105 Ndife walasa mukulu (you’ve hit it right on the head bigman). wabandika makani aacinicini mbuli bwalino taata (you have realeased good data in truth as with the current situation my man).
what is the difference between voting on tribal lines (or is it appropriately language-speaking lines) and voting on gender lines?

  86. #109, 110
I understand your dissapointment but let me explain my logic regarding Lubinda. At the moment we have a weak constitution, if we had a Lozi as President, it more than likely that he or she will entertain that baroste agreement nonsense, that is the problem. It has nothing to do with the lozi tribe or language etc. Currently we have too much powers vested in the Presidency therefore having people who have separatist ideas clearly is not a good idea for peace, tribal harmony at the moment. If we have a consitution that outlaws such ideas then anybody can go for the presidency based on merit not tribe or any other issues. That’s my point so don’t get me wrong, it’s not a tribal thing

  87. Thanks for the clarification, nice weekend guys am off i work half day on friday…………..but what has the Barotse agreement got to do with Given?

  88. #112 U should be a politician, I guess U know how to explain urself out of a loop.Anyway, may have a point. But remember Zed will have new constituition by 2011, LPM promised and trust him on that one. Why, coz it will not affect his presidency.

  89. # 114 LPM has proved that he is responsible also. He is the only Zambian I know who resigned from a government position when things were going wrong in the then Chiluba Administration.

Most of the so-called all weather politicians were busy raping the country of a good constitution and today you want to give them a chance to re-do what they did not finish doing with Chiluba in power.

A nice question to consider is: why did Chiluba not entrust the country in the hands of Sata in 2001? Did Chiluba know something about Sata’s character that caused him to behave in that way?

    enjoy your weekend you all!

  90. I just had to include the second question and so bear with me in my english construction on the two questions and not one question in the above posting – #115.

  91. If you guys say Sata is too old, to whom are you comparing him? We have spent zero on his health and spent millions on Chiluba and Chuchu. So, is it health or age that matters to you?

  92. Come 2011 and it will be dejavu all over again for Zambia. 20 years earlier in 1991 Chiluba swept to power on a wave of unprecedented support and approval levels. Look at the damage he did. His own province Luapula suffered the worst, stunted growth levels hitting the 70% mark because children were not eating. Read Mudenda’s profile in the post and you will understand that the original MMD had been hijacked by the street smart Chiluba and his labor movement. Something that was born out of a fountain of intellectuallism gave way to an abscess which swelled and which when it exploded its pus filled every pore of Zambian society. Those who forget the past are bound to repeat its mistakes!

  93. its very healthy to debate come on Zambians let us talk

change brings about development – one party 4 becomes myopic

  94. This is hot indeed. Govts nowadays they win because of the rural areas. Kafupi’s election crashed Mazoka in the dying hours of luapula counting, Bob across is untouchable in all rural Zim, opposition can do child play harare, bulawayo, but the faithfuls in rural Zim, returns Bob! Cobra got excited when he grabbed most urban areas, but bwana without the east, south, west, north west including north, you urban dwellors will continue to suffer conjession, no services, crime, poor pay, filth, pot holes etc which us in Lundazi dont suffer. As long as we can get farming implements and sell our produce without Kafupis promisory notes, we are voting new deal MMD. Lekani chiwawa, khumanya mwatyumba!

  95. #80. Fatso Chuchus weight problem is likely due to his diabetic medication especially if he is on insulin, so sympathise with him.

  96. Iwe Namukolo, who said that a former footballer can be our presido? after have you ever had of a word education and its meaning?

  97. State house and thieves are not compatible anymore. Enough is enough. Let people with national interests rule the country. Not thieves. The Conbra supported the Puffadder from Luapula to rule for the third term so that they can still tax payers money together to buy expensive suits and shoes. Shame on you. Whom can you deceive to vote you in power with long fingers and sticky tongue like a camelione? Go HH go. No more thieves at plot 1. Only HH.

  98. To all you the thieves scattered all over the world sending commentry suggesting Satan cobra to be the next president. Forget it. You will never regroup to destroy the economy of the country again as you did with the dwarf Kafupi. You are known to be award winning thieves and you have no chance for plot 1.
If a man with a height bellow sea level(like Kafupi) can still, what about Satan Cobra? HH is the saviour. Go HH. Plot 1 is waiting for you.
