Zanaco suffers a 5-0 bash

Share

Power Dynamos has started this season’s soccer calendar with a bang beating Zanaco football Club (FC) five goals to nil in their first premier league of the 2008 season game played at Sunset stadium in Lusaka today.

The yellow shirted boys scored their first goal in the 43rd minutes through Laughter Chilembe who beat Zanaco goal keeper Edwin Musonda with a well taken shot.

Chilembe was on target again in the 55 th minute when he scored from a Fracis Kasonde corner kick.

Captain of the side Francis Kasonde scored another goal through a corner kick.

The Power boys continued to score from the man of the match Laughter Chilembe who completely shattered Power’s dream of coming back into the game.

Several attempts by the Zanaco FC to redeem themselves in the second half could not yield any results.

The Zanaco missed yet another chance of scoring when Winstone Kalengo miscalculated the distance throwing the ball very high above the net, causing supporters to start throwing litter on the pitch in protest.

  2. Well done Power 90!!!But too bad for my team Sharp Konkola Blades.Anyway, it’s just a first game and GBFC is a strong team,so all could be better with time.

However,Zanaco and Zesco gonna have it hard this season!!!!! Let us just wait and see where we’re going.

  3. Sweet victory POWER, no team has humiliated zanaco like that in their yrs of super league. Go boys, its time we went back to continental football and show the other teams that we can do what we did in 1990. Zanaco change your football language from nyanja to bemba. How do you have a team that communicates in nyanja, and expect to win.

  4. language or whatever it is has nothing to do with Zanaco’s bashing at the hands of Power. Zanaco needs to off load all the old guys from the team Zanaco technical banch should scout for young players from lower division sides like profound worriors and also fellow Premier side Lusaka Dynamos there are some players Hanif does not use and are good.

  5. Power 90 is disgusting, i hate pipo who bring language into anythin, habs is cool, lingo gat nothin to do wit futbo, n power 90 pliz cut tht crap its disgustin coment

Use ENGLISH it is better for all blogs and other readers world wide this is not radio 1.

  7. Viava Brave Nchanga Rangers. My childwood team back in Chingola in the good old days. I am just waiting for Kalampa to clamp one of the big teams in the premiership.

  8. Not a bad start from the Kalampas.I am surprised that Laughter Chilembe is still playing soccer! The guy has been there for a while.

  9. Nakambala Leopards good beginning Rambo in the junglebauze mufana that you can take the team to higher level Bravoooo
    From the Big one

  10. I grew watching soccer at Imboela, LCC ground and Woodlands, Sunset, Queenmead. As a young boy, I supported Nkwazi since it was near my school Mumuni. I guess I just have to stick with Nkwazi, since all you guys are supported teams near your roots.

  11. Well done power 90!! Ku lusaka takwaba bola, let us show them how we do it ku copperbelt. We will be counting on Kilambe(Kizo) and Kombe(Chile bull) plus Francis(Koje) Kasonde for this season, but it is also good to hear that laughter is also getting them goals.Viva power, viva CB.

  12. #8 and 10 Whether you like it or not, zanaco players use nyanja, no wonder they fail to communicate, especially that the old CB boys are gone. Zanaco has offloaded ‘old guys’, and by the way its not Profound Worriors, but PROFUND WARRIORS please. Since when did you start following zambian soccer? VIVA POWER

  13. Power Dynamos! The only team to have played in top flight league since its founding. They have never looked back.
I remember the good old days of Blackwell Chalwe, Piason and Richard Mwanza, Wisdom Chansa, Robert Watyakeni, Kapambwe Mulenga, Francis Kafula (Ninja)…The team that crowned Zambia with the first and only continental title.
It has started filling like its back on again.

  14. #4 Like you i also support Konkola and it was so sad to see our team conceed a goal in the dying minutes of the game. But do not despair we are registering 3 strikers this week to replace the Sunzu brothers. But guess whats so disappointing about the new Executive? They fired coach Charles Mwila who lead us to 3 semi final playoffs just after the first game and replaced him with Sims Chanda who made us go back to division 1 because of his lack of game plan. We need to put an end to this executive as its apparent it has no foresight

  16. Lets hope the youthfull Nchanga Rangers drilled by former international, ken Malitoli will maintain the same form thru out the season.Congrats Bravo and keep it up!!!!

  17. Degamo/John Bull. Are the Sunzu brothers in Tunisia or what? Do you have any info on the team the joined. What position are the in the league and the like.

  18. Lets not be exercited these were just week 1 games start celebrating when your team is leading by 12 points with three games to go. watch this space zambians teams have no consistency.

  19. # 27 Get your own Blog identity the are so many names to use don’t impersonate other people.Other wise good observation.

  20. They are currently playing for Avenir Sportif De La Marsa and i think they are lying sixth on the table. I reckon they have now made it very difficult for themselves to break into the European league since these Arabic Countries are not really seen as hot spots fot scout talent identification.

  21. Well done power “90”, “a baby born with teeth”. You have come back to your winning ways manifested by the come- back of prolific stars in Rotson Kilambe and Francis Kombe.Let us jack up the lost spirit and redeem the once glamorous side by winning the league title this year.Bravo “Kalampa” Nkana as well for your good start.Lets show them that football was actually made in Kitwe.

It amazes me, how that one can get to know someone else just by how they write.
