Esther to tour Europe

Share

Newly crowned Global Boxing Union (GBU) super featherweight women champion Esther Phiri is scheduled to tour Europe to gain international exposure and experience.

ZANIS sports reports Esther’s trainer Anthony Mwamba confirming in an interview on Saturday that his boxer would tour five European countries among them Denmark, Germany and Finland.

Mwamba said his camp was still talking to stakeholders and partners on sponsoring the GBU super featherweight champion to Europe saying the nation will be informed on the latest development.

He said after the tour, Esther would go into the ring in September to have another shot at another world title but this time in the lightweight category.

Asked on the possibility of Esther fighting renowned but retired boxer Mohammed Ali’s daughter Liala in the near future, Mwamba said it was not possible.

He explained that Liala was a heavier boxer than Esther and therefore the duo can not face each other despite both of them being world champions.

He however thanked the government and the people of Zambia for their continued support to Esther saying without it, she would not have achieved great success.

  1. Just start fighting local male boxers as part of training. The galagatas who are just loitering at intercity bus terminatus can offer you some good exposure.

  2. ESTHER, YOU REALLY DESRVE IT. AS A WOMAN IM PERSONALLY PROUD OF YOU. PLEASE KEEP IT UP! YOU ARE SIMPLY GREAT AND MAY GOD GRANT YOU ALL YOU NEED ABUNDANTLY.

  3. Easter now should concentrate on education than on boxing, because she will have health problems.

  4. PARKINSON’s disease awaits her so advise her to invest heavily in areas where she will be geting returns. Punches in the head have a known effect on the brain , I hope she is being schooled to that effect.

  5. It’s good to give all these accolades to her, but does she have access to the internet? Maybe we need to send letters direct to her home.

  6. Bwelani ba Esther! And don’t forget to meet the Zambians in Germany (the Embassy in Berlin is very reliable in arranging such functions), we would love to entertain you.

  7. I thinks the lady deserves the tour. Its a very rare opportunity for a common zedian to visit two or more countries. In fact the word “tour” does not even ring in the ears of a common zedian. Please take advantage of the trip, then go back home and tell stories to your neighbours.

By the who sponsors the trip?

  8. #10 Pro 7,…und Gott hat es doch gefallen mich ein scheiss neger zu machen!
For others: this racist #7 called me a f*cking nigger. My answer to him is:…and God was happy to create a “f*cking nigger”. I’m not afraid of the Ku Klax Klan… skinheads are my friends. I conquer their Hatred with Love.

  9. Guys I respect you for been proud of your country’s most up raising super star miss Easter. Though it is sad to see some crazy attacks among each other. However, I wish Miss Easter all the best. It is nice to see hope in female boxing in Zambia. This is great fox.

  10. Esther am grateful for bringing glory to our mother Zambia. But i urge to give yourself time before your next fight. we know money is sweet and its life but dont over do it, the aftermath of boxing are bad, this is you should give yourself time b4 the next fight.

  11. hope ta mwamupele ifumu kuli coton or mwamba…..esther be careful pazedie balapwisha and they forget about yo….

  12. I hear the father to Ester’s daughter wants to rejuvenate the marriage and so, he is claimimg Ester back that she is his beloved wife.

However, will Cotton or Antony accept that??

  13. # 15, the greek language you used on your collegue # 7, is so bad. Please, lets learn to be respectful both to ourselves and to others that pass comments on the blog. Besides there was nothing offensive in the comments of # 7.He was merely passing a fact and advising to invest wisely. You know, most of us that are far from home, we tend to wonder as to what mechanisms LT has put in place to censor some of these comments that are so detrimenal to others. My advise to #15 and others is to change. Somtimes just read other peoples’ commnets when you’ve nothing sensible to pass. What is wrong to read other peoples’ comments? Zed is not known for such. For ur own info, not only zedians access LT.

  14. Ester dont forget to save your money for a rain day. We dont want you to come and be a begger at your death bed like your brother Lottie who was a superstar in his hee days but died a destitute and left nothing for the family. Dont say you were not warned. All those who are surrounding you will run away when parkson start knocking on you. THATS THE FACT!

  15. ala just behave yyourselves everyone ester desreves the tour and when she comes back she can hang her gloves and maybe concentrate on her educate and mentor other young stars before parkinson gets the grip on her. Ester Fan!!!!!

  16. be careful guys, you got to provide security for the young ladies!the bazungus might clear her.

  17. FACT: Ester will get marriage to cottan muzungu!
FACT: With all the money school for her is a waste of time!

  18. #28, Fact: Cottan is happily married
Fact: ester happily engaged with a Black Zambian Muntu and not Anthony Mwamba.
FACT: Money isnt everything, knowledge is.
    Please encourage good tides.

  19. hope this b*tch invests, opportunity comes once, she shouldnt misuse her chance, stash up ya greens baby and leave that career before it damages your head, taking too much punches for cash aint so good especially for a lady, once you are in Europe dont get back to that lame a** country, stay here and leave that S**t it aint good enough.
At least you have shown these usless zambians that life is about fights, the rest of all ya peep this and learn.
