UPND geared for Milanzi by- elections.

Share

Opposition United Party for National Development, UPND, says it is geared for the June 29 Milanzi Constituency by-elections.

The opposition party National Chairman, Edward Kasoko, told ZANIS in an interview on Wednesday that his party was confident of winning the elections.

Mr Kasoko, who is also UPND Mwembezhi Constituency MP, explained that this is because the party has given the Milanzi electorate a good candidate.

The opposition party has nominated, Chimwala Phiri, the election that comes up following the death of area MP Chosani Njovu.

He said Mr Phiri, who was former MP for the area from 1996 to 2001, has the experience required to address development problems affecting the people of Milanzi.

And The Movement for Multi-Party (MMD) has adopted Rueben Banda as its candidate in the Milanzi parliamentary by-election scheduled for next month.

Mr. Banda is the Eastern Province MMD secretary.

MMD Information and Publicity Chairman, Ben Tetamashimba said Mr. Banda was among 10 people who had applied for adoption.

He was speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka.

  1. What about other political parties? Which candidates are they fielding?

Otherwise, congratulations MMD and UPND for your participation in the Milanzi by-election although we are tired of by-elections. Lets come up with a new strategy on how to handle issues of what happens when an MP for a specific area dies or defects to another party.

  2. too many deaths nowadays when an MP dies the second in the last election should be automatically MP for the area to serve money, but magic baba! kaya!

  3. UPND, you seem to be the only hope for an opposition party since PF (SATA) is now married to MMD, please get more organised and represent us country -wide.

  4. really PF has gone just like that because of sata. anyway PF is sata and sata is PF, there is nothing which people like lubinda can do but to follow suit. UPND pull your socks further and fight for this country. you are the only hope now

  5. This is the perfect litmus test to see the popularity of Hakaivotela Hachilema’s UPND both candidates are credible but in the words of lupe fiasco “if u are what u say u are, a superstar have no fear” the voters will determine if u have a chance in 2011 otherwise those tuma supersta billions tukamana ba dala this is politics money doesn’t buy u power u have to earn it

  6. #10 it seems to me u are a vry jealous person who i must say is also short sighted. The problem with us Zambians is tht we suffer frm the PHd sydrome (pull him/her down). Here is a youngman, hard working, intelligent, rich, mature, prominent businessman with chains of companies and investments locally and abroad. The best u cn do is tear him dwn?God has given us this youngman for Presidents with rare qualities. For myself i support him tho yet 2 join UPND this month. The mood is changing positively towards HH & the UPND in the nation. To be honest, its the only opposition party making sense.

  7. Mwaiche moderate,
waitaya.Give credit where its due.I guess you are PF (just like me) who cnt believe tht ba shikulu ba Sata has betrayed and sold us to MMD,thts a fact.As slaves who have been sold off to our ne master,we must b brave enuf 2 escape frm captivity.Shikulu sata is indeed a bafoon as Levy once told him.Am sure Levy is laughing at sata now 4 bending his tail btwn his legs.

  8. gentlemen i am not hating, at the age of 25 i am very happy with myself, i have my own house my two cars and my own wife, and i will say this again i have mo money than Hakaivotela Hachilema had AT MY AGE, that’s a true story, the man is in his 40s. Based on what some of u want as president, it means that if i maintain the same path and i show that i shook a white man’s hand then in 20 or 25 years i can stand 4 president, that’s ridiculous, the presidency is not for on the job training that guy is business oriented and has no track record of public accountability much as he may be desirable i feel plot one is not ready for an elitist let the intelligentsia fwema lawyer tupwishe job.

  9. Moderate mwaiche, interact with HH to learn more about him.Personally i giv him respect coz he doesnt brag bout his riches,he is very humble and dwn 2 earth yet stinking rich.Foq us who hav seen tht youngman HH grow,he had all those things whilst in 3rd yr going 4th yr at 23yrs at UNZA,thru hard wrk of course.

Though i admire your small investment at 25yrs.How i wish many youth cld be focused like u.Keep it up son.I’ve no doubt u’ll reach where we are wit time.Avoid womanisng and bear.

  10. #13, at 25 years old i expected you to be more mature enough than this. people with progressive ideas and riches do not even publish what they have. people with many houses, many cars, many farms etc do not publish what they have, but those with few, particularly inherited property, would rather climb the top of the highest pillar to anounce their property.

  11. Ba moderate, your behaviour is unzambian. My advice is that humble yourself.Let people speak about what u’ve and not busy bragging about your possessions. My dear, they r alot of fellow youths who r very rich bt dont show off.If Hakainde Hichilema didnt come on the political scene,we wldnt have known tht he is a richman with alot buildings, houses, flats, over 25,000 cattle.Nt anytime hav we heard him publicise.

  12. abena joe na zebige (15 & 16) i am not bragging about anything my wealth was not inherited i lost my parents akale and some well wishers paid for my education its only thru my hard work and determination that i am where i am, so the notion of inheritance is a non-starter. What i asked was are we going to use principle or material wealth as parameters in determining our next president, and if the latter variable is your desired measure of substance then on a balance of relativity i shud also be considered for the presidency. I am not against anyone standing in 2011 but i want to understand why people are obsessed with the rich man Hakaivotela Hichilema coz as far

  13. /cont….. as i’m concerned nobody has given me reason to believe he is the right man for the job all that ppl say is that he has billions, he has thousands of cattle, oh he has equity both home and abroad or he has many cars our previous presidents all did something to resonate with the people a) KK: freedom fighter father of independence b) kafupi: labour movement impresario and liberator of the commandist economy c) LPM S.C: the african cromwell “Mr. Action Man” aka arrest them Mr. Injunction……… all these made a legacy of substance before they became president.. noti mwatola ka business man akale chema ingombe nabena chief mukuni ati mbu bo ba dala…get real.

  14. Moderate, please be aware that a fool is considered wise when he is quiet. What a mountain of ignorance you are exhibiting in the publc media. Just what do you mean when you say HH has no track record of public accountability? Government cannot run without taxes – and where do you think taxes come from? Its from the coporate world. True development is anchored on the good performance of businesses which depends on the enabling environment provided by Govt. When you put someone who understands this connection – social economic development will be the natural result. Mwanawasa, being a lawyer, is fighting corruption and taking people to court coz thats what he knows best. HH understands this.

  15. Mwaiche moderate,
You have jst displayed your ignorance,am even doubting if u’ll at all get near our achievents in the corperate world.

Any viable economy in the world is anchored on good economic policies implimented by economic managers.HH has demostrated this thru his track record in the corperate world.4 our own infor.he has since made more serious investments frm the time he entered politics. Most of the boards he chairs have tremedously improved because of his eco.policies.

  16. Moderate is jst a confused fellow who is comforted by having a ka 1 b/room hse in Kalingalinga,2 ramshackle fiat 127 cars and a grade 1 drop out as a wife.

In 1964,we needed indpnce liberation and Kaunda fought 4 that.In 1991,we needed multiparty democracy and Chiluba delivered us tht.2001,we needed some1 to cont.with multiparty democracy and LPM is struggling to make it grow.In 2011 we nid an econ.manager 2 deliver eco.dvpnt to Zed and HH is the best man at the moment.

  17. Omulonbwanama (My-fellow-man) “moderate”, akaka taata kocesyacesya kunonga HH (please youngman reduce on belittling HH).
We very much understand the PF supporters are still in limbo after the unexpected happened over Hon. Sata. We know that rude shocks are difficulty to handle, but please do not let your emotions go over clearly seen principle.
Zambia is one country and nation that we all have. Hon. Sata has realised that his tribalistic tendencies have no place in todays’ politics as HH has been trying to show you all over the past 2 or so years.
Let us move together with progressive mindsets – forget about things that border on DIVIDING the nation. We only have one Zambia to develop.

  18. #24,read btwn the lines.HH at his age has managed 2 hold UPND together much to the supprise of many pipo.Mazoka wore big shoes and HH is safely fitting in so far.

However HH and UPND have to wrk hard 2 convince undecided citizens, otherwise HH & UPND 2011 is yours.

  19. i have been a strong supporter of PF until its recent demise. just like someone mentioned elsewhere, PF lacks consistency and is full of lies because it is fully controlled by one man (sata). sata has now married mwanawasa and this leaves us with only one choice UPND as the only opposition. although HH is young, he looks mature in the way he is running his party.

  20. #25 Chanda
If people continue pretending that HH and UPND are succeeding politically outside Southern Pronvince, then they are a sandwich short of a picnic.
UPND must realise that they need to tackle the unfortunate TRIBALISM tag attached to their party. When Ackson Sejani and his cohorts said that UNPD could never be led by anybody but TONGA,and never faced expulsion. That swang the independents away from the party and I think that HH has failed to tackle this issue. We need to appreciate the efforts Mazoka applied in broadening UPND`s base into a national party by forming UDA.
SATA could not have even enjoyed much support in 2006 elections if UPND handled Mazoka`s succession with much care

  21. HH understands what needs to be done economically for Zambia to move out of poverty but he first has to pass the political test.Otherwise,if he fine tunes himself then you never know come 2011 it might be up for grabs.

  22. i am not a PF sympathiser but instead i resonate with MMD policies, the ruling party has a nationwide structure and all those so called qualities that ppl are seeing in Hakaivotela Hachilema can be found in certain presidential apirants within its pool of politicians, UPND unfortunately is a tribal party and is guarded jealously by Tongas so as to maintain the status quo, if Hakaivotela Hachilema wants to win he must unite with other political parties otherwise takayimone, and even then they are also other political heavyweights to contend against like abena miyanda and their praying hands this is national politics not company politics where u argue with board directors about….

  23. /cont…..company profits or stock options. Someone mentioned that most of governments taxes come from the profits of corporate businesses, what a load of bull crap govts shield corporate firms from taxes and instead its that worker who toils the 9 to 5 who is the hero for government not some profit driven, brown envelope under the table puppet who has his balls squeezed by a neocolonist somewhere in the west.

  24. #29,30. “…the ruling party has a nationwide structure….” The UPND has a national structure too, that is why it is the only party which has shown consistency by fielding candidates in almost all by-elections like we are witnessing now in Milanzi.

“…UPND unfortunately is a tribal party and is guarded jealously by Tongas so as to maintain the status quo…” It is people like you, Hon. Sata and the MMD who has made sure the nation views UPND as tribal. Fortunately, Hon. Sata has seen that such divisive politics will not take Zambia anywhere.

HH managed to convince UDA to sponsor him as its presidential candidate in 2006. HH met B.Gen Miyanda and wanted to meet Sata b4 2006 elections.

  25. Hon. Sata refused to meet HH saying he did not know HH – “who was just some calculator boy” if I remember correctly.

So why then are you failing to appreciate that HH has tried to bring Zambians together when it is clearly seen that people with selfish interests are the ones who turned away from him prior to 2006 elections.

“If people continue pretending that HH and UPND are succeeding politically outside Southern Pronvince, then they are a sandwich short of a picnic.” #28, Chapi please take a look at 2006 election results and compare Hon. Sata’s performance to that of HH in the eastern, western, North-western and Central provinces then come back on HH’s appeal contry-wide 2 Sata.

  26. HH is now fielding a candidate in Milanzi and the question that follows is, is Milanzi constituency in Southern Province? Is PF fielding any candidate in Milanzi? Is ULP fielding one either?

The UPND has been fielding candidates for MP all over the country consistently if though it has had heavy losses sometimes ie: Northern, Luapula, Copperbelt, Eastern, Western, North-western, Central, Lusaka and Southern provinces since its inception in something like 1998. Now, this is what I mean when I write that the UPND has a nation-wide structure.

A fair question is – which other opposition political party has done that in recent times? Has PF, UNIP, FDD or ULP done it? the answer is NO!

  27. Am not Tonga nor have relatives in S/Province bt i can safely tht the tribal tag which has been on HH was a campaign tacktic put on late Mazoka by MMD as the only way 2 decampaign him.Unfortunately tht tribal tag has still been slapped on HH by Opponents 2 pull him dwn too. This wil nt wrk this time bcoz pipo now knw the truth.Currently HH in C/belt campaigning bcoz he knws c/belt is zambia too.Am vry acommodated in UPND bt a pure Bemba.Am there coz am zambian.

  28. no. 31-33 ur views are fraudulent Hakaivotela Hachilema did not convince UDA to support him, the big players in that alliance abandoned it when a charlatan mesmerised hungry cadres with his money. sakwiba left, lubinda left, miyanda wasn’t even entertaining Hakaivotela Hachilemas opportunism, nawakwi was either subdued because of the testesterone around her or she was bought, it was the carcas of that alliance which remained. Ppl only took notice of Hakaivotela Hachilema when he revealed how much he was worth not because he tried to unite the opposition, what a fantasy, he wanted all the opposition leaders to back down from his money and let him run against H.E.

  29. /cont…… LPM which would have been ridiculous if u ask me especially after those big guns had done the hard work of exposing MMD’s weaknesses, Hakaivotela Hachilema must just work hard to show how he intends to improve life for society not muletu bepa with ur propaganda of money as if we are going to share it, all in all this guy is just another business man trying to increase his wealth only this time he wants to expand into politics as another facet of his business we will not be fooled ba guy.

  30. #36, kINDLY COME TO TERMS WITH REALITY. HH met B.Gen Miyanda and two’s meeting photo was in the POST for almost 3 weeks just before the elections in 2006. Hon. Sata refused to meet HH and this was on the news too. And so, which fraudulent are you writing about? I would understand your froward writing if you missed the above said news.

Mere cheap attacks on HH will not work this time around. For Zambians have now come to know the true colours of Hon Sata and his inconsistent PF. Time to move on is now and I am happy my President LPM recognises this fact – H.E. LPM SC will not let Zambia be run by misguided, disillusioned and myopic characters. Just wait and see come 2011.

  31. B.Gen Miyanda and two’s meeting photo was in the POST for almost 3 weeks just before the elections in 2006…. must read:

B.Gen Miyanda and these two’s meeting photo was on the POST’s webpage (www . postzambia . com) for almost 3 weeks just before the elections in 2006.

  32. This litany of UPND being tribal has been perpetuated by the PF and then Chiluba’s MMD with some remnants of the current MMD. With Hon. Sata’s shift of political dispensation, we only have to discuss things that really matter.H.E. LPM has made it clear that he will not support any characters that do not conform to what he stands for in would-be campaigns come 2011 (see Mr President’s interview portrayed in the POST around the NEW 2006 YEAR time). With this in mind, only clean people will certainly survive the situation as it will unfold and I tell you this: watch out for HH.
Zambia is now ready to make economic progress and we do not need to do any more experiments by trying failed politician

  33. #32 hhe*5
I appreciate your passion to support HH but it doesn`t help when reality is ignored.Claiming that UPND enjoys national appeal simply based on its mere participation in elections doesn`t hold any water.Has UPND won any parliamentary bye election outside Southern Province since 2006?I am at pains trying to understand how you can state that HH has been successful in expanding UPND`s base.If we`re to face reality, then we`ll conclude that UPND has been on the decline since Mazoka passed away.
As long as HH fails to tackle the TRIBALISM tag attached to UPND,then him becoming the republican president will just remain a pipe dream.

  34. When the late Mazoka controlled Lusaka, western, central, southern, and northwestern provinces in 2001, some people still maintained that his party was tribal. It like in zed, as long as you are not bemba, you are tribal.Am not tonga but i feel tongas have been treated unfairly. Let us not look at the tribe but the character of a person. For now HH seem to have the characteristics of a person i want as president.

  35. the people calling UPND as tribal are the ones who are tribalists. i some what agree with #42, even if sata is the king of tribalists he cannot be called a tribilist because he is bemba.

  36. let HH become more vigorous. this time around i will vote for him. i regret having voted for sata a traitor and a liar.

  37. Continued from #41
I agree with you that PF equally lacks national appeal and that`s the reason it`s also in the opposition.Sata made a terrible miscalculation by focussing on only 4 provinces and expecting to win the presidency.
That`s the reason that we need a political party that can summon national mandate to lead our nation.

  38. Though HH looks young he has exposed great maturity in the way he is conducting himself.
I think PF thrives on lies. Their leader lied to us that once voted as president he would turn Kanyama into Kabulonga, and we voted for him knowing how hard it is to live in Kanyama. But all those were just lies. He even promised that the minibus drivers were going to be getting pension, when i reflect on it now, i feel all those were just lies. HH looks genuine, i think zedians should try him

  39. #46, HH is not young, that is the right age for a presidential material in the modern world. havent you heard about a man called Obama in the united states? he is in that age range of HH.

  40. #42 mbo
Why wasn`t Ackson Sejani disciplined after he insisted that UPND could only be led a TONGA?
Was he looking at the content or character of any person or the tribe?

  41. #48 Chapi, i dont really understand your analysis here. If sejani’s individual opinion was that UPND should be led by a tonga, does it mean now that it is a tribal party? Or is it fair to generalize that bembas are thives just because of a few who were convicted? My mother is bemba and father is lozi, but for some people to say bembas are thieves, it hates because not all bembas are thieves. The same thing applies to sejani, if he is tribal it does not mean that UPND is tribal. UPND went for a convention and HH was voted for by people who were not only tongas. if saki won, UPND was still going to be called a tribal party by some pipo.

  42. #48, your analysis really does not make sense to me. lets condemn tribalism by not being tribal ourselves.

  43. Those calling UPND and HH to be tribal are the devils of tribalism themselves.very dull chaps and useless non-entities.take the tribe tag away dull chaps.HH is a future presido of Zed.

  44. Sometimes we just have to call a spade a spade. UPND is a Tonga party and PF is a Bemba party. Of course each party has some other tribes doped into the top leadership but in essence the power structures remain deeply rooted in the tribe of the president. The whole thing stems from the overzealousness of some of these tribes. The Bemba’s traditionally think Zambia belongs to them by default whereas the Tonga’s feel there time has come to run the show. You may not like my commentary but this is the truth gentlemen. Of course, for purposes of actually grabbing power non except the most thick headed leaders of these parties such as Sejani can admit to this status quo.

  53. WOW!!AM IMPRESSED WITH THAT RICH CV OF HH.AM INSPIRED TO WORK HARD. GUYS JEALOUS DOWN, HH IS GIFTED.HH,YOU ARE THE RIGHT MATERIAL TO DELIVER ZAMBIA IN 2011 EVEN H.E LPM KNOWS THAT,HE IS JUST WARMING THE SEAT FOR YOU.

  54. Thanks Bhaps for the HH Biography. I know that jealous induced character will vent insults and try to stick to story stories which have no more meaning now. The truth HURTS, but credit where it is due.

Hon Sata has changed his approach to life and I hope his supporters will also accept the truth with time and join in right way.

Viva my President LP Mwanawasa. We are surely moving forward in tune with the nation come 2011.

Have a blessed day you all.

  55. Yes jealous down, that CV is good for himself and his tribes men he represents in Southern province. BUT IT DOES NOT GRANT HIM A SEAT AT PLOT 1. He had that CV when he was voted out in 2006. To Zedians his qualifications does not make hime different from the past or present presods.

  56. Indeed we are surely moving forward, your HH should also come out and reconcile with other parties like LPM and Sata did and also reconcile with other tribes in Zed!!!

  57. #64. HH already his good working relations with my President LPM. That is why some characters thought that he is not a real oppostion leader. When Chinese “Hu” came to Zed, HH was also an invited guest to the meetings that took place btn China and Zed – this testimony on HH’s working with our Pres. LPM.
I once posted on this forum that Hon. Sata has now learnt from HH that dialogue is the key to development. It is Hon. Sata who has delayed progress in Zambian politics by doing OLD POLITICS of insults and demeaning others.
I now welcome him (Sata) to common sense politics which must now move us forward. The past is the past and now is an opportunity to move Zed in a real forward direction

  58. I am a registered voter and i am impressed by that CV which I have seen time and time again however none of u UPND cadres here have convinced me to defect from MMD in favour of Hakaivotela Himwine Hachilema, all that u have done is try to convince me that the tooth fairy exists. U have not adressed my concerns its great that he is the poster child for business but that dont make him the right man 4 the job, his political ideology is a carbon copy of the UPND manifesto of 2001 he has not come up with his own policies and how he is going to implement them, since this blog started 65 comments thru and none of them have said anything about his policies

  59. /cont…. which is suspicious for a person vying for the highest office in the land to get the ppls mandate u gotta be original not be a puppet of a neocolonist organisation his links to Barclays will be exposed by abena Regis Phiri come election time its about time he started thinking about how he will limit that damage and that for me is show me his plans for society not boasting about where u were drinking champagne as u saw end of year profits and received your dividends as a result of insider trading.

  60. #67. …”his links to Barclays will be exposed by abena Regis Phiri come election time”…

Someone wrote about the pull him/her down syndrome somewhere I this thread. In the words of Sauzande (Late Danny Kanengoki, i think), “TRY AND YOU WILL FIND OUT!”

The topic is about the MMD and UPND fielding candidates in milanzi. What about other so-called nationally performing political parties? Whom are they offering for the Milanzi people?

  61. its not pulling down syndrome its called establishing credibility, every reasonable man always evaluates a product before he buys it so u prove to me that this product is really genuine dont inundate me with meaningless rhetoric, i reject your current deposit.

  62. one more time, “TRY AND YOU WILL FIND OUT!”. Dennis Liwewe also said, “Let us wait and see.” 2011 is not far from today.

Have a great day, moderate. I think, I have now outlived my usefulness on this topic.

  63. #49 MBO & #50 JOEL
You`ve chosen to ignore why UPND`s performance has been on the decline. The fact that Sejani hasn`t up to now been disciplined paints an impression that his sentiments have been embrassed. This guy isn`t any ordinary person but one of the founding members of UPND.A strong message could be sent by taking decisive action.
Please UPND,learn to listen to advice because what Zambia needs in 2011 is someone that understands the economy and HH fits the bill.
HH`s focus shouldn`t be on bloggers because 90% of them don`t even vote but the masses.Make sure he attracts some political heavyweights that could help improve the image of the party.

  64. All these comments show that the upnd and its leader are credible.if the upnd continues being called tribal then lets tag all parties in zed as tribal cause they are.

  65. I, myself as registered voter would like to vote for Hakaivotela Himwine Hachilema come 2011 but his silence on Sejani declaring UPND presdo to only a Tonga at any cost put me off.

  66. Can we just discuss politics without being tribal especially UPND, tell me do madyenkuku and Mwanajiti represent the UPND, I am very dissappointed especially that I married from the north that people are still looking at someone’s tribal beyond their education and complexion. I think HH is the future of Zambia because he speaks little and does so much, I am not sure about 2011 but someday we shall have a President like him bemba, tonga, lozi, kaonde or wherever and I think we deserve an intelligent president like him. LPM is not dull after all, he is just emotional which is a downside

  67. #75 you have said it all. Friends, lets please get our heads out of the sand and look in the mirror and face our tribalism. It is true HH may not have perfomed well in certain parts of the country, but that is not his fault, it could be the peoples’ fault who could not vote for him because they are tribalists themselves.
Lets put aside this bad practice and vote for people because of what they are and not which tribe they come from. At the moment it is HH and prof chirwa who seem to make sense as far as presidential ambitions are concerned, it is just my view.

  68. Hie people, this man (HH) has a very rich cv. Thanks Bhaps #53 for giving us this information. Can someone give us the cv for other presidential candidates such as sata. What papers has he got and probably which universities has he been to.

  69. HH is the right candidate 2001 the same jokers made us miss the opportunity to be led by a serious candidate late Andy.HH weare behind u

  70. Iwe loyd #77. people have already mentioned that sata have no education to talk about. His education doesnt go beyond form 3. He worked as a train driver, tax driver and minibus conductor. He rose to the position of minister in kaunda and chiluba era. He was the chief gang of thugs at kulima tower. Has married and divorced many wives with plenty of concubines, mainly cadres and trade unionists. He shortly had a heart problem. He is currently married to LPM. Basically that is sata’s cv. Am sorry if i have left out something.

  71. This time around we wont allow the Kaponyas to take control of the elections with their sinking boat.HH ur proving to be the credble candidate go for it 2011 ur the next president the old man sata is tired nowonder he has asked for energy from LPM sc

  72. I just had to laugh on reading #77. aaaaaaaaaahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahha………….hhahhahhahha.

  73. #79 Lombe
Despite all that bagage you`ve mentioned about SATA and his PF party yet he managed to beat the educated HH in 2006.The big question is why and how did he do it.If UPND continues to be in denial then they`ll be surprised that Prof Chirwa will capitalise and carry the day in 2011.
Any political genius will realise that PF is finished and MMD will face alot of problems getting the party together after their convention. This will create an opening for an outsider to capitalise.Remember how FDD and MMD were busy tearing each other down and there came Mazoka to take advantage. He won those elections in 2001 plain and simple.

  74. #83. I did not want to write any more comments after I wrote #70. However, since you have requested #83, the analysis by lombe as outlined in #77 is what caused me to laugh. While some elements of #77’s analysis may be true, i think it is somehow wrong ie ” He is currently married to LPM.”

    The ending part :

“Basically that is sata’s cv. Am sorry if i have left out something.”

…was equally portrayed in a (very) funny to me. Hence the laughter.

I will end here as i hope you are covered #83!

  75. My dear chapi #84, sata thrives on lies, insults and inconsistencies. He is able to use these tools to convince people that a black cat is white. Some people follow him blindly, like i did, but not anymore. He cannot buy me using lies now.
In life mr. chapi you cannot be a winner all the time, and you cannot be a loser all the time. I have mentioned before that either HH or Prof. so far look appealing to me. However the prof. has a problem because he is being rejected by his own party.

  76. I wonder why people wanted to entrust their country in Sata’s care when he does not care about himself and fails to run a normal family life. It is clearly written on cigarette packets that ‘SMOKING KILLS’ yet the man kept smoking till he was told by someone from South Africa on his near death bed. If he won, we do not know how many first ladies we would have. If someone lacks personal management, there is no way they will give you any. You cannot give what you do not have.

  77. Sata is just ashamed of swallowing his vomit (words). During election capmaigns in 2006, he referred to Mwanawasa as being sick and was warning Zambians of having presidential bye-elections i.e. LPM would die before his term ends. He condemned overseas medical treatment and from the look of things, he has fallen in the ditch he dug for others. It could have been a huge mistake for him to be @ plot 1 and as things are – he is finished!!!

Its amazing how educated people like Dr. Guy Scott, Sakwiba, Lubinda etc, make a fool of themselves by making deals with Sata who has shown his true colours since he was a boy. I also pity all those who support and vote for Sata – especially if you are educa

  78. #90, advise your proffessor (chirwa) to form his own party, then you can be his secretary general. We dont want absent landlords in mmd.

  79. anonymous. get this fact straight once more. the mere fact that you have given HH names makes you the number one tribalist. can you imagine if everyone who is tonga or simpathises or identifies themseleves with tongas were to respond. this will become ugly and this may have the potetial to spread to outside this fora. do not assume that you are the only one who knows how to talk, insult or fight etc. everyone else knows these things but the difference is that they exercise self restraint. this is supposed to be a forum for sharing intellectual discourse and not a competition to see who hates the tongas so much. would you still hold these views if HH was bemba and SATA tonga.

  80. anonymous. you are such an irritating *****. why do u hate tongas. has any tonga bull been involved in a fling (sexual act) with any of your close relatives and didnt pay or did you at anytime push in an application to HH to be feeding his animals and then this was turned down for fear that you may run away with umunani(his animals) or what. am really failing to understand your somewhat pathological hatred for this gentleman.

  81. Anonymous, uli mubwa ununka nsuu alimwi na muyanda kulwana basokwe nywebo inga twalwana andinywe!nobacete anzala muminzi yenu.leave HH alone omuyanga yebo!

A person that tells you that everything is alright when there`s something wrong is not a friend. My best friend tells me frankly when I am wrong and I respect him for that because he`s helped me to be a better person.I have repeatedly pointed out that HH is arguably what Zambia needs in 2011 but he needs to find a way to rebrand UPND from the TRIBALISM tag attached to the party.SATA has made tribal comments but the tribalism tag hasn`t been politically attached to him but that of being a THUG and that`s why he`s trying to reinvent himself. You`ve got to realise that voters that are able to intellectually analyse issues just make up less than 5% of the electorate.Perception matters

  83. 97. the quarrel is not about whether there is tribalism in UPND or not. the issue at hand is why insult someone instead of arguing your point in an intellectual manner. why label HH as he is being refered to. its not fair. the issue of triblaism is relative and depends on the background of the person raising such concerns. beleive me bembas would call anyone but themselves tribal. i dont know why. therefore this silly psycophant going by the name of anonymous should emulate you lombe and argue for or against tribalism in UPND rather than focusing on the tongas as a tribe as it would raise suspicions to some of us who would want to be neutral.

  84. #86 Lombe
When I mentioned Prof Chirwa as having a shot at the presidency,I didn`t necessarily mean that he would be the MMD nominee. The probable MMD nominee would most likely be Levy`s choice. What Prof Chirwa should do is continue his campaigns within MMD and offer an alternative to those that won`t be satisfied with Levy`s choice. After the MMD convention then he can branch off from MMD to form his own party and challenge for the republican presidency. He will not only be appealing to the disatisfied MMD and PF followers but other independents. This is the critical block that easily turns elections around. If HH could manage to attract this block of electorate then the repub Presidency is his

  85. Fellow citizens,i’ve been following this heated discusion and have conluded ‘shameless’ tht we BEMBA’s are real tribalists in our beloved nation.Am ashamed as a Bemba on tht point alone 4 proving 2 the readers tht we r truly tribalists.

  86. #101. The truth hurts but it sets all the involved free.

You have shown a level of interesting concern and responsibility which has seriously humbled me.

Take careful care and be blessed. Zambia is for all Zambians and not a minority select few. The earlier all of us shall recognise this simple but telling fact, the better for our nation to start long making strides in economic development.

Zambians, let us all rise above petty issues and focus our energies on developing our onoly beloved Zambia. “One Zambia, one Nation.”

  87. I am a tonga but I should say that I am embarrassed about tribalism in upnd.Mark my words,we will continue losing by-elections.milanzi is for mmd.

  88. you wanna be. you are late for this friend. this discussion is now in the dustbin. may this is where you are also found.
