  1. Now that’s great news… But 6 months is a very short period though, I hope you invert your money wisely son, in life, it’s best not to take things for granted

  2. What money Zulu, 5k is pittance, less than fees for my sch kid. Is the move motivated for gain for the pipo involved? I believe so, coz u wudnt live on the kind of money in the eastern bloc mate. This is slavery rearing its ugly head.

  3. Ba Mutunza #2 its unfair to be frustrated on others economy just because yours isn’t going well. Concentrate on your money making system and encourage others to live their lives wisely. Kola is young, money doesn’t really matter at this point. What matters is his soccer career, and the pride of us who like soccer.

  4. #2 Muntuza, I don’t know which eastern block you’re refering to but if its Europe, pliz stop lying. $5 pin a month is alot for living in Russia or any Eastern Europe country. Most things that are charged in most Western countries, including Aussie remain provided for free in former communist states…a legacy of communism. No club in Zed is ready to pay this kind of money (no matter how litttle you think it is) to a footballer. Let the guy join you in the diasporee.

  5. I believe the Russian season is a strange one, they play over the summer months when most leagues are in recess. I think they stopped the league for the Euro’s and have since recommenced.

  6. Mwandini Kola go prove yourself don’t listen to pipo like #2 who are still living in the past.Russia has good football just look at Euro08. By the way Russia also won the Euro song contest, they have a fantastic young president who is reshaping the economy and now calling for FDI and democracy. Not many people get 5k per month not even nurses in UK!!!!

  7. Can someone convert kola’s salary in zambian kwacha plz? I want him to go and prove to them that he is a gud striker just like katongo C.

  8. Ba Anonymous, US$5 000 a lot of money to live on in Russia? Not if you live in Moscow. The world’s most expensive city!

  9. Do u guys know that soccer players in Europe get paid weekly…

$5000 a month in bollics….rubbish….i wouldnt take it this

is jus another zambian wanting to be called a Pro in Europe

spartak Moscow is a huge team unless he will spend all his six

months watchin the game from the bench then $5000 is ok for him

Annoymous #6 ur statistics on not many people getting over 5K

    are worryin me…haha

  10. Ba Mutunza Sir, please relax. Money needs to be managed wisely no matter how big or small, especially in a foreign country. Don’t compare yourself to Kola (unless you’re also a footballer) because football is very unpredictable. What if he fails to sign that lucrative deal?

  11. i live in moscow, i have watched spartak moscow play.. i don’t think kola has chance to play, believe me 5000 dollars is small money in moscow..peanuts …he can’t compete with Russia’s top strike Roman pavluchenko…he should have stayed for a better offer… i wonder if he is going to make it to the bench…players here get paid per week…..

  12. I live in Johannesburg but I’ve also seen Spartak play, thanks to electronic media, I don’t have to travel to London to see Drogba… lol.
Anyways, as you’ve rightfully said Franco #11, Kola doesn’t meet the Spatack standards yet(no wonder it’s only $5k) but as his fans, we’ll never stop wishing him luck and hope he invest his money wisely.

  13. for #7 ba Stanley
Kola’s salary in kwacha is about
    5000 US Dollars = 115,000 Rubbles =17,500,000 kwacha

  14. Why stress for nothing gentlemen? This is just like a trial, you’ll see whether Kola deserves to earn like Michael Essien after 6 months, understood???????

  15. Hey. The kid has agreed to in warm the bench for 5 grand a month so wat the fu*k are you making noise about?

  16. Who says 5k is huge to live on month to month in europe. You guys are a sick joke. Even the palyers from the South African league on average get more than this. Do you have an idea what it costs to live in these countries? In saying that, am not suggesting that I dont like Zed football, but appalled at how, for the sake of a quick buck risk the lives of our young ballers. If Kola is skilled, 5k is pittance. Only pipo with a narrow view think that is heaps of money. Nah man, that is change.

  17. 5k is nothing comparing that he has less than 20 years in his career.
If he is going for better training facilities and exposure then it sound good for six months.
    All the best.

  18. Is this the Govt whose President is Mike Mulongoti? No wonder then, 5k is heaps of dough. Good luck Govt

  19. From what i read in the weekly Post yesterday Kolala was given an offer by PFC Starkak Nalchik a club in Moscow and not Spartak Moscow.Spartak Moscow is a huge club in Russia as most guys have put.Any way i feel this deal will be good exponsure for Kolala.Let him start somewhere.

  20. And Gents “Russia” this kid is bound to fail. Mark my words. The salary or contract is not an issue here, fellow zeds this boy is going into hostile environment at a young age and his agents does not care, it seems. Here again gents Zambia has lost another bright talent … the list goes on Mbesuma, Kola, etc.

Why not get this kid to a better place first like Greece,France,Swiz, etc.Russia is not black friendly, very cold thro out the year, the league is too technical, etc.

  21. Yes, it’s a pathetic place for blacks but one thing you should know is that scoring goals is one way that will make him be accepted by the club funs and be hated by the opposition teams! Kola will not be the first African player in the Russian league. There have been others before him. As a player he has to adapt to all situations, weather, techical and physical skills….after all we have also lived in Moscow, he will surely also make it if he works hard…it’s all about hard work and displine bane!!!

  22. # 11 & the others even if he stayed in the league for another 2 seasons he will never earn that kind of money. So let the kid go it’s a start. Who the hell are you to condem the move? Do you pay his bills? The best we can do is give support, yes russia is a tough country to adapt to but their soccer isn’t up to scratch compared to other european countries.

  23. I know of a list of players who’ve been to Russia. They have ended up going nowhere. I hope he makes. He will be one of the few or if not the first black player to come out of Russia a better player. Good luck Mr. Kola.

  24. The boy has been swindled, he will sign but later we will hear that in fact he signed for 3 years at US$5000 per month. Why don’t these boys then to youth teams say at Man U or any other big team and mature into the main team. Whats wrong with Zambian players, How come we don’t have players in proper teams?

  25. This is my worry as well #29 Shidada. Look at Manucho from Angola now playing for Man U. The boy will end up like Gift Kampamba and a host of many Zambian players who played in Russia. South Africa is another country with an ‘army’ of failed players after playing in the Russian league. I think that we lack player agents in Zambia with the right connections.

  26. Its his age guys that concerns me. And Yes, who am I to question his move and yes I do not pay his bills, but I want to see a better striker for our national team.Look at our west african brothers, they send their player at 17,18 to switz, sweden, norway, greece, etc. Then after a year or two, there is a John Obi Mikel, adopted to Euro life grows into more pressured leagues.I still feel our players need agents who care about them.Maybe, ex-players like shinde, Lota, etc should be agents themselves, and protect our talent jealously. An example is Mbesuma. If nothing is done to help me, we will have to do with average strikers like chamanga, dube phiri, etc.No SA player improved in Russia.

  27. Cont’d

My point being lets guard our talent jealously like our west african brothers. Our failure rate in Eurpoe is high meaning we are just selling these boys to whoever can pay.And those who want us to debate this , lets continue, not justing telling to shut up.This is a discussion blog and lets put the pros and cons.He will have a better salary, yes , but for how long , ask Mbesuma.

  28. John Mikel adopted to Euro life…???? oooh my foot!!! gentlemen what players need is displine on and off the field. To behave like a professional..Your Mikel has failed to live up to expectation ask Mourinho,Drogba and Essien. JT had to question what is wrong with him….please mention other players not Mikel.Poor professional behaviour but good technical skills a flop of a player!

  29. JOM might have failed people’s expectation, tell me which African team would bench him? The boy plays for chelsea and only 20 or younger.Maybe, my example does not impresss you, I’m talking about adopting these young players well in Europe, meaning lesser pressured and black frinedly league would do the trick.Another player would be Drogba,Kanu,okocha,etc.#33 with all the professional behaviour, if you cannot handle the pressure at the high level, it won’t help.Manucho from Angola, Manu sent to Greece for the previous season, hes back at OT this coming season. The change of life is too much for these kids. And for the record Obi is class by my stds.

  30. Am always amazed at what goes on in this country, we lack reason. We have an important under 20 qualifier and kola is released for russia for 200pin! where are our values? there is no national pride.

  31. if i were in charge, achievement of the nation comes first. and dont tell me we cant pay these boys enough, we can, coz we demonstrated it in renard and kalu.

  32. i get disgusted whenever i hear players abandoning national duty for trials, cant the clubs wait?? hell no, too many daft chaps in our soccer admin no wonder we aint goin no where, i rest my case.

  33. Even Kalu and Charlie had to spent some time in junior (reserves) teams, honestly, there are few players who come from Africa to Europe and make it the first time, that just how life is. Kola is 18 or 20, he can be in the your team for two years or three and when he has adapted to life, fight for his position in the main team, that is what Felix is doing in France. Russia, the language, racism, cold wheather will just be too much for the young man to make it in six months.

  34. I hear you December #34! Kotelela nkwambile makani…Yes your example of Mikel is trash, as i said the boy has skill & by all standards he is good but without good behaviour on and off the field he is nothing. The age you know is not his true age as is always with Africa. I wouldn’t love any Zambian player to follow his behaviour ndakaka musa don’t just watch him from the terraces.! What happened to Ash when his off field behaviour was tainted?? Mikel is another Emmanuel ‘bad boy’ Zulu!!!

  35. Are questioning his skill or temperament musa? Ndatelela te? Zizou was for me the best player in his generation, but the man had a red hot temper.Would u overlook his skill in this regard. What I’m sayin is who ever arranged this trial or deal to russia, has not interests in this boy.Ndamana.

  36. Haha Mbesuma…to be unveiled as a “brazilian” at press

    conference on wednesday

Ba-pwishe futi mwaiche.. haha good on you…lets see if u glady

take a giant step and break ur own record…

    but ka discipline kuposako amano…!!

remember not every team takes a gamble on players hope u

    ready to regain top form…

  37. I have said it time and time again that we need qualified agents in Zambia.the young boy has been subjected to underhand tactics here. The money he will be getting is really low. However it is not his fault.I ma sure he will find out when he arrives there. may be the short contract will work in his favour and expose him to better packages

  38. Edusport and Zanaco will share 80k just for him spending six months in russia. Should he decide to stay for three years they will get an extra 250k.
Its business guys. educport gains, zanaco gains, the kib gains. they all gain fainancially. But all in all the kid loses in talent.
But again 5k a month unless he stays on the bench.

  39. No Vilakazi or Mbesuma

    Posted: 2008-07-09 05:47

Ahead of Wednesday’s press announcement in Sandton, KickOff.com can confirm that neither Benedict Vilakazi nor Collins Mbesuma will be unveiled as new Mamelodi Sundowns players.
Amid much media speculation ahead of the conference in which the club’s brand new Nike kit will be unveiled for the first time, there are likely to be no surprises amongst the players.

Mike Makaab, who represents both Vilakazi and Mbesuma, says the pair “will not” be named as Sundowns players on Wednesday.

“I can categorically deny that they will be part of the announcement,” Makaab says.

With Mbesuma, a lot hinges on his fitness, which will be monitored closely be

  40. #50 watch this space,supersport.co.za and kickoff.com for
more details..press briefing will be today.. probably has already
    been..

  41. Miyoba #3, well said, very good point, I agree fully with your point about having the young guys on a good path. Zambian football in current state should look to keep up the momentum and consistently make an impression at every occasion, maybe then we’ll see clever scouts and bigger teams teams picking up on them. Keep the momentum going!!!

The Kola in Russia deal is not all bad, we’ll be watching with anticipation, It’s up to him ensure he continues to improve to the high standards. Good luck to him.

  42. Miyoba…hows the speculation surrounding Mbesuma and Vilakazi…haha i told you kid…who would want to buy amakula
