Acting Town Clerk Noel Muchimba disclosed to ZANIS in an interview that Sable contractors will soon commence works before serious rains begin.

  1. Why can’t he start with where the State House is- Lusaka?- I mean that place is really dirty with regards to the standard of a capital city.

  2. Orite mately well done ye its true charity does start at home!! i suggest u also giv tha chipata residents sum lamboginis to roll in or sum new Mercs and BMW’s for free personally i prefer a ferrai F-60.

  3. Why should central government fund township roads? Will they have enough funds for Mongu, Solwezi, Kasama etc or is a case of RB coming from the east? Government should only fund infrastructure that will benefit the nation such as highways and dams.

  4. Its really disgusting to walk down on the roads of chipata especially during rain season, downshops area and kapata market etc. sure let them tar some roads.
    # 10 its true there is only one traffic light in Chipata and it was commisioned by Never mumba when he served as VP.

  5. MEMBERS of parliament, both opposition and ruling MMD on Monday unanimously voted in favour of the three Bills to increase salary and allowances for constitutional office holders and senior government officials.
During the last sitting of parliament President Rupiah Banda refused to assent to the Bills when they passed and suggested amendments, owing to the outcry of the general members of the public.

President Banda in his letter to parliament indicated that due to lack of resources the country had, it was necessary that the three Bills be further amended before he could assent to it.

President Banda said the country had spent a lot of money during the funeral of the late president

and it was imperative that amendments be made to the Bills.

But when the Bills were brought back to parliament, Vice-President George Kunda said although a lot of money was spent during the funeral of late president Mwanawasa, the country had enough resources to cover the costs.

Kunda also said the committee that was tasked to make some amendments had done so.

He said since government had awarded all civil servants 15 per cent increment, it was necessary that the all constitutional office holders and senior government officials have their salaries and allowances increased.

“Mr Speaker I beg to move that the presidential emoluments [Amendment]

  7. #10…yes one traffic light where hospital road crosses the Great East Road. At that time we were boasting of being the only provincial capital outside Lusaka with traffic lights……

  8. #16 you are right in normal societies the districts or manuncipalities look after township roads and central gvt after hwys but our manuncipalities are always saying they have no money and it is unfoturnate that they also look to central gvt instead of raising their own capital, so we can only wait and see when the other provincial capitals will have their shares.

  9. Bwezani u have really shown us that u are really unreliable.. a month argo u were strongly against salary increament and 3 weeks into office and boom there it is…selfish untrust worthy bagger!!!!

  10. Good move bwezan. The road to chizzy metal which is passing through Trench town(Navutika compound) must be tarred too.

  11. Hahaha…I remember those days when i used to spend nights away from metal drinking Kachasu and womanising in Navuberg.

  12. For sure, rural ares first and not where investors and the majority are, towns like Ndola are so bad,we are even better off with gravel roads in most parts of town and there you go with tarring Chipata roads, mwanya bambuli

  13. There we go RB and his true colours. Now increments for MP’s when the civil servants’ salaries are not increased, i mean one MP gets K500million per 5 years isnt that already enough. Someone please let us know how many of those who voted for it are under PF although i know all the rebel MPs did. Am asking coz PF is the only party that opposes such

  14. Great move RB. Also Keep your promise of tarring the chipata-Mfuwe road – that is why Malambo constituence voted for you. Our road is VERY bad. Remmeber that South Luangwa is undoubtedly one of best tourism destinations in Africa. Maxwell Mwale is doing nothing in his consituence; he is only seen during campaign times. The bastard is even lucky to have a ministerial road. He does not LISTEN to the people and I can gaurantee you that he is out on the next. Steal now to enrich yourself. Msewo NIUYIPA NGAKO KUNO KWASU, NI GWALA TYALA OSATI NJILA SOTI.

  15. #24 Chizzy metal product

you must be a product that word ‘trench town’ reminds me of the old boarding school days. Its really been a long time let them tar that road maybe pupils can be using buses from town. during my time we use to walk couse buses from Lsk would only drop you in town.

  16. #1 baleke balileko limbi bakoswe ne mbeba kuti ba pusukako. these chaps almost ate them to extinction ni endangered species nomba u know.

  17. # 31 Nsefu. Soti natemwa ngako kukuona pano ne mfumu muyako. cimwemwe cucita kufwika na mu matu. i totally love your language man!! i get really excited when i hear ppl speak it hardcore. nicendi museo wa ku malambo niwosanena.appropriately put, nigwala ya njobvu tyala.visengu vekaveka fulu mseu wamsuma.the road is impassable to buses in the rainy season. i remember travelling to school in chipata at the back of a canter with only a muddy tent to protect us from the rain!its really disgusting. a journey that would take 2.5hrs only ends up being 6hrs long. thats just how bad it is.No matter how hard it is to get there, KWASU KU MALAMBO NIKUWEME…!!!

  18. #29.Another Chizzy metal, lets chant again:metaaaaal metaaaaaaal!A metal that does not lust!Nsimbi kulikonso ni Nsimbi!Ine nenze mu skeva soko hostel.Hostel yachikata.Ninasiliza mu 2002.Nanga iwe unasiliza liti?

  19. One traffic lights for Chipata is a plus unlike L/stone which is called a City without traffic Lights.Economically,Chipata Town is the third largest economy in Zambia after,Lusaka and Kitwe. There is more money circulating people’s hands in Chipata than most of the so-called Cities and yet the Great-East road has taken over 16yrs to be resurfaced.! Poor Management!

  20. #34 and 34 AKakumbi na ChuluChaminga,, newo nine wotemwa ngako kuona kuti muzomela nazinanena. Our road is “KAUSWATONDO” – ka m’sita ka atondo; chikunda chikuti tetyo. Aba amwizyo basu aBanda owoneka ngati batiyavye. Our government has marginalised us for a very long time and it is time we got a road!! When the Chinesse had done the road a couple years ago, it would take just over an hour to drive from Mfuwe to Chipata. It is a shame that we have been subjected to such ecominic and development bias. Great move RB for funding Chipata township roads, but, fundamentally, remember the PLEDGE to Kunda people by Mwanawasa that you would tar our road.

  21. Onzuna don`t give us raw data just cerebrate the funding. Chipata ecomomy can not be third in zed. Go to central statistics office they will tell you that even a small town like Chililabombwe on the copperbelt beats Chipata.

  22. #31 and 34. Muleke ukutumpa ba mambala imwe. But i like your ladies. The talk well in local language esp Chi nsenga. Patoto patoto.

  23. Wonder how a tarring project is to make head lines, thats the governments job, what do they expect a pat on the back for doing what they are supposed to?this is plain pettyness, but what do you expect from recycled, overused, uneducated or is it unexposed leaders, its really embarasing, whats next Ati GOVT approves painting of UNZA or something..where are we headed….Chanda

  24. #44 i think the problem is with the media because they are the ones making headlines even when govnt ios doing exactly what its suppose to be doing. by the way if they dont do that they will have nothing to write other than bitter exchanges of words between politicians and catholic priests

  25. Each one for his Village!!!! That is why tribal voting will never end in this poor country. At least he should have started elsewhere and then make a U turn to Chipata. That way you blind a few individuals who have eyes but cannot see. In this case, even the blind have seen. Expect more shockers!

No 1 yuo are 100% correct.

  26. Zambia also needs re-sructuring ba GRZ naimwe.
Why not build temporary shelter for chibolya res somewhere outer, clear off that area & extend the city centre with modern buildings. Oso sensitize en educate fwe ma ILLITERATE bout the importance of agriculture. Insala ikapwa,

  27. The media have a job to report fair enough but its because these oldtymers make a big issue of repair works,it would be good to see them talk about new developments, how they are planning to get Zambia out of the mess they put her in,e.g how they plan to reduce unemployment, poverty etc..thats news..Like in a household a father boasts about how he is buiding a new home..or how his children a doing so well in school..etc…not how he will be changing taps around the house or unblocking his blocked sewer..catch my drift..progress is always good to see

  28. That is the problem we Zed guys have as we always think about our homes. It is like now development will be going to the Eastern part of Zed ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

  29. Remember that this is just a promise…is it the same as the 90 bn for youth projects which has never been followed up. Where did that money go & who benefited? Was the money given as loans or grants? How are the beneficiaries doing now?
