Govt lauded for increasing ART centres in rural areas

Share

A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Mazabuka fighting for the prevention and spread of HIV/AIDS has commended government for scaling up Anti-retroviral (ARVs) centres from the previous five to ten in rural Mazabuka.

Total Control of the Epidemic (TCE) Mazabuka District Deputy Division Commander, Jabez Kanyanda told ZANIS in Mazabuka today that government has announced that more centres will be opened up in the rural parts of the district.

Mr. Kanyanda said the move deserves commendation because it will address challenges faced by people living with HIV/AIDS such as failure to adhere to treatment due to long distances to the nearest health facility.

He said increase in the number of health centres to administer ARVs will increase the number of people to be enrolled adding that this will enhance productivity in the country.

Mr Kanyanda disclosed that his organisation has purchased a speed boat to be used for HIV/AIDS programmes in reaching out people living with HIV/AIDS in the hard to reach flood prone areas of the district.

He added that a mobile ARVs clinic will start next month to cater for people who cannot walk on their own.

Mr. Kanyanda said the procurement of the boat will also enable TCE field officers conduct HIV tests in flood prone areas which usually become impassable during rain season.

He said TCE will work with the Mazabuka District Management Committee in ensuring people living with HIV/AIDS benefited from the relief food being distributed by government.

I thoought GRZ “has” already “scaled up” ARVs centres, but it “has” just “announced that more centres will ne opened up in rural” Mazabuka. Why is the commendation coming up before the centres are actually scalled up? Anyhow, its a good idea!

  2. Lazzo, Do you know the meaning of your name? T h i e f! So you have just aquired them by default. Had them back please! I mean 1 and 2

  3. Maestro. You are back. Awe, I hope this time you wont have go on me like you did last time. This time I have moved camp, am going to be supporting RB. How is that.

  4. Good move Mr. Kanyanda, and its encouraging to know that the HIV +ve stigma is becoming history in Zambia. This is due to tireless efforts of NGO’S..and all concerned =d>=d>=d>=d>=d>=d>=d>=d>**==

  5. What is happening in Mazabuka??????,..they have had doubling maize prices and now more ART centres???? Is there a link??

  6. Ukumfwa ni matwi, whatever intervention programmes put inplace with no direct focuss on behaviour change will do little to fight the rampant HIV/AIDS.

  7. Good Job let us also use the same energy and strategy in working toward independence with food production and education

  8. Jesus Christ! maestro why do you have to paste pieces of the article into your comments.there’s no need for that.if we want to read the article we’ll go straight to it.just go stright to the point basa.there’s no need to be dancing on the same spot! :-l:-l:-l

  9. Greetings to all of you especially Maestro. How was your Sabbath? Don’t I’m not new here, I just realized that when I use the original user name, my postings are blocked.

  10. #9 Maestro HH, why are you obsessed with your word “Undereducate”. You can’t say anything without the sordid word? And you should learn to respect other people’s divergence views, if someone supports M C Sata regardless of his academic standing does it affect you that much? Education is your personal achievement. Remember Bill Gates(you are using his invention right now) is not educated but none of your relatives will ever even come closer to his achievements, Albert Einstain was not educated but he was one of the greatest pioneers of physics ever and the least is endless. Infact you don’t need rocket science to be a good leader so accept that M C Sata is a better leader than RB and HH.

    15. your flag Saeed al Sahaf, thanks and naiwe wine on the greetings.

The Sabbath was great. We were refreshing on Daniel 2, 7 and 9 with parallel lessons from Revelation. How nice at such a time.

I was also invited to some woman’s place for lunch among other guests.

So, I think it couldn’t have been better than that, than God – our Creator for the Sabbath and everything else.

    Have a blessed day.

    16. your flag Figlif, you character the Undereducate is always calling others names which have no facts like Underfive for president HH, but probably you always jump up and down resounding Underfive.

So, what is wrong for me to call Sata as ndereducate which befits him as he is under-educated since he is a Standard 4 (equivalently Grade 6) school drop out. Just acknowledge the truth and stop worrying for you might have a heartattack or high BP for nothing but the truth about Sata being an Undereducate.

  15. #22 continued.
These “Remember Bill Gates(you are using his invention right now) is not educated but none of your relatives will ever even come closer to his achievements, Albert Einstain was not educated but he was one of the greatest pioneers of physics ever and the least is endless” WRONG writings of yours indicate that you are an illiterate concerning both men you wrote about.
Bill Gates reached college and dropped out of college and so he had basic education except tertiary. A. Einstein was very educated to the contrary and I will give you his biography below, keep watching. In this age of google, you cant even utilise the Internet to do a simple search before posting nonsense. Shame.

  16. “Albert Einstein was born at Ulm,Germany, on March 14, 1879. Six weeks later the family moved to Munich, where he later on began his schooling at the Luitpold Gymnasium. Later, they moved to Italy and Albert continued his education at Aarau, Switzerland and in 1896 he entered the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich to be trained as a teacher in physics and mathematics. In 1901, the year he gained his diploma, he acquired Swiss citizenship and, as he was unable to find a teaching post, he accepted a position as technical assistant in the Swiss Patent Office. In 1905 he obtained his doctor’s degree.”

  17. #22 Maestro HH, you have completely missed my point! Agreed, M C Sata might not have the kind of education your HH has BUT he is still a better leader than him, period. In other words, some leaders are born and not made(educated). Your personal hatred for Sata is out of contention here! Personally, I would rather we dwell on more innovative contributions than “M C Sata Vs HH”. By the way, where have you sprung from? After the announcements of election results I am pretty sure you went into a state of shock seeing your HH polling 66 votes where Sata polled in the execess of 6,000. Anyway, I am just thinking aloud!

  18. So, please, #
    16. your flag Figlif, even if you are hostile to education as a PF supporter since PF and SATA MC are one, please learn to use google before showing ignorance on the blog.

Have a great day and please advise the Undereducate Micheal Chilufya Sata to try the Grade 7 exams next year and maybe he can follow through footstes of A. Eintein as you will see in the following motivation from wikipedia.

  19. #25. Figlif, your behaviour of trying to run away from your own words is not new to me as almost all PF ignorant supporters do the same when they fail to stand up to their words.Your wrote “Remember Bill Gates(you are using his invention right now) is not educated but none of your relatives will ever even come closer to his achievements, Albert Einstain was not educated…” on #16 and now you want to deviate from your ignorance with “Maestro HH, you have completely missed my point! Agreed, M C Sata might not have the kind of education your HH has BUT he is still a better leader than him, period.” You dont even seems as if you can argue with my 10 year old niece with this attitude. Shame!

Firstly it appears that your are very deceived. Secondly, have you just come out of a comma? Are you the only character who has eyesight problems even when reading spectacles are available for a cheap price? I have been blogging all the time since the elections. I has always put bye on here when I go away.

  22. Maestro HH, I know from UNZA as a villager from southern province and don’t think you are better educated just because you look up every topic from google to seek answers. And don’t call me illiterate because I am more educated than you by far, only that you don’t know the personal you are trying to belittle. Well, they say “you can take a villager out of the village but you cant take the village out of him” Even your HH is still a villager, see!

    31. your flag Figlif “I know from UNZA as a villager from southern province and don’t think you are better educated just because you look up every topic from google to seek answers. I am a villager YES, but better informed that you claimant that you re not illiterate when your posting on #16 clearly shows who your are. By the way, I have not bellittled you or anyone, but you yourself are busy doing it – how sad.

  24. 31. Figlif, you wrote a nice quote in your “Well, they say “you can take a villager out of the village but you cant take the village out of him” Even your HH is still a villager, see!”
I am truly in agreement with this statement that a villager’s village-ness can not be removed from him. On your accusation that HH is a villager and I sure president HH will gladly acknowledge it. In fact, I think he has already done that somewhere. As for me, I am a proud and true villager. After my stint here, I will go back to the village and commune with my fellow villagers to develop Zambia by not voting for the Undereducate, Micheal Chilufya Sata who has failed to cheat us villagers for we’re clever.

  25. #30 Maestro HH, what do you mean by saying I am very deceived? What comma? You don’t say “I has always” Say “I have always”. And don’t ever compare a mature learned person with your ten year old little bastard you call you niece, ok!

  26. #
    34. your flag Figlif please re-read yours and mine comments for you to know what I mean by you are very deceived!

I write so and not ‘”say”, as I have not used my mouth but hands’ for even my 10 year old niece would realise who deceived you are just by reading both my and your postings.

Enjoy, the REAL education you are receiving now.

  27. #35 Maestro HH, you were saying I can’t even utilise modern technology like google, now be honest here when did you learn to use the computer? This is an honest question which needs an honest answer? I want to work out some calculations which will show that you have just got to grips with computer age and that’s exactly why I said no one can get out what you called village-ness out of you. So you haven’t changed, heh? Too bad! Pity! But all the same complements of the season!

  28. In 1999. That was my fist time of using a computer as in a PC. I had used a calculator and computer games like sega drvie before that. On my village-ness,I am a real villager and nothing will change that. I have never been to my father’s village, but I spent about 6 or so hours at my mother’s village in Monze, Southern Province, sometime in 1993 or so. Also, I was taken to the same village by my mother when I was a very little person for a few days like 2 or so. This was when I was about 2, 3 or 4 years. I can’t remember many events that transpired save for the fact that I complained about lack of electricity. Despite this, Im a villager.
Thanks for the complements of the season though.

  29. So, #34. your flag Figlif and/or #37. your flag M’ponda Matiki, I am waiting for your assessment.

Vinabwela moochedwa zoona vachizungu and I have no excuses to make. Zambia is behind, by approximately, 10 years which is synonymous to the development years lost during former President FTJ Chiluba and then Minister Without Portifolio Micheal Chilufya Sata’s rule between 1991 and 2001, both undereducated, who delayed our progress as a Nation.
This is why I want you and me to elect responsible leaders so that they can bring computers to villagers like me with Internet access at our ages of about 1 hour old so that we can also grow up like the world Citizens from the developed countries.

  30. why do we have to get so personal? Zambians, we are here to discuss…..By all means appreciate we are allowed to have differing opinions, but no personal attacks, napapata!
    Aren’t we all adults here?:((

    41. your flag chopsy, the Holy Bible records that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. I am just here to bring my friend, #34. your flag Figlif and/or #37. your flag M’ponda Matiki, to senses.

He thinks insulting me or president HH will help him/her. The good point is that he/she has found what she/he wanted and that is nothing other than education from ignorance.

I am sure next time s/he will be more careful to try men, and not boys, like me, Maestro Hhehhehhehhe.

    Have a blessed day.
