Cancel Emmanuel Mayuka’s transfer – Rev.Sayila

A Livingstone clergy has appealed to the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) to show no partiality in the case involving the irregular transfer of the footballer Emmanuel Mayuka of Kabwe Warriors Football Club to an Israeli team.

Reverend Alfred Sayila said NSCZ should cancel the transfer altogether than it asking the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and Kabwe Warriors club officials to normalize the player’s exit.

Rev. Sayila who is also Federal Democratic Party (FEDEPA) president said condoning this illegal transfer of players would send wrong signals to others in the soccer fraternity in the country in future.

“We are asking the chairman of NSCZ, Mr. Julius Sakala and his executive to put their feet down on this matter and mete out stiff punishment to those corrupt soccer officials who may have had a hand in the illicit transfer of Mayuka.

” After all, some of those same leaders may one day aspire to high political offices of this country and hence to allow them go scot-free in this scam will be like transferring their corruption to a future time,” he said.

Rev. Sayila has called for the immediate cancellation of Mayuka’s illegal contract with Meccabi Tel Aviv FC; for the player to be recalled back home and for the removal or prosecution of officers involved in the scandal.

“We want the whole truth about the illegal transfer of Mayuka, which officials were involved and how much was realized from underhand of the shoddy contract,” Rev. Sayila said and he further called for the suspension of the player from all soccer activities until he shows remorse.

“The player having willfully cooperated in the deal should also be suspended from any soccer activities until he shows repentance of his misdeeds,” he said.

The Mayuka transfer saga has in recent days raised a number of concerns with the latest being NSCZ chairperson Dr Julius Sakala advising the Football Association of Zambia ((FAZ) to cooperate with the progress of regularising Mayuka’s transfer.

Dr Sakala told journalists soon after the NSCZ’s full board meeting at National Sports Development Center (NASDEC at the weekend that apart from regularising the transfer process, disciplinary measures against officials involved should be instituted.

The only pastors who do not comment on issues outside their jurisdiction are SDA pastors. These (the good SDA pastors) have been consistent for many years.     This will safeguard the players’ interest & career prospects & the concerned officials would be dealt with accordingly.

    The suggestion by the Reverend is rather harsh especially coming from a man of God.

  70. I have been reliably told, that HR the coach for the national team has resigned. This has been kept under wraps until the team returns. The reason:
    Munaile and marcha Chilemena has been imposing their sons to be in the national team, leaving or replacing the deserving ones.They want their sons to be considered full internationsla and quickly using this to sell them to foreign teams. i doubt it if they can make the grade, i doubt it.Aslo the incompetency of entire Kalu executive.   74. The biggest problem is that we have not been furnished what the allerged irregurarities committed by FAZ Officials are. Did the act outside their jurisdiction? The failure of Kabwe Warriors to be part of the negotiations cannot be blamed on FAZ. Is FAZ obliged to seek clearance from a player’s former Club before issuing the ITC? Soccer gurus help. What are the issues of concern kanshi?

  94. Hold yor fire Rev. Mayuka’s interests and career shud come first. Dennis Lota’s career was ruined by trying to severe a bad contrat with a Cape town town (1500 ZAR per month) misengineered by one Mr Chibwe. Misguided by emotion and anger FAZ and govt tried to severe the 2 year deal and the South Africans would not budge because papers were signed. Lota was caught in the middle as the elephants fought for approx 5 years (WasRrendered clubless/Lost form, never progressed his career nor made money). In hindsisight it would have been better to forego the 2 years and make ammends at the next contract. This would have saved Lota from extinction

They had an opportunity to put things right with Kabwe Warriors just when the whole issue surfaced, but they chose the arrogant route. And now they have to face the consequence. Reporting to FIFA is not the wayforward, FAZ should sit down with NSCZ and regularise the matter, simple. This matter will haunt kalu and his team for years, which is not good for football.

  112. Why is Kalu trying to hide behind FIFA president Blater? FAZ has been messed up by these stoogies (Kalu, Munaile, Chilemena, and George Kasengele). These guys are crooks. How can they say Mayuka will be getting $1500 pm, but the figures are :
    Training allowance:$700
    Wining allowance:$3000 per week x 4 wks
    upkeep allowance:$1000

    If you check the figures, where are the other dollar amounts? Typical of Kalu and Munaile. Same thing happened to Mbesuma.
