    • I agree with you. This is utter nonsense. Zambia has situational Democracy and if you happen to be at the wrong end of it ninshi chapwa! Free speech my foot! Mpondela should leave that clique of clowns called MMD and never even look back!

    • There is such a thing as party discipline and loyalty. If he does not like the policies of the MMD govt, then he should have used his freedom of expression and resigned like Sondashi. People should not forget that RB was given an overwhelming mandate by the MMD to be their leader. If you have issues regarding the running of the country and the party then you should use the party machinery to bring them to the fore and not go running to the Post newspaper. I feel that we still have a lot to learn about how multi-party democracy works!

  1. This is funny indeed. Mr Mpondela asked to take the Post Newspaper to court if he wants his Job back? This is like inducing a criminal act. Why is MMD getting into this dilemma? These Chaps have got a lot of home work to do and if they do not conduct themselves it will cost them a lot in 2011. What exactly did Mr Mpondela say or what did the Post Newspaper quote? It would be better for us to have the opportunity to analyze his statement. Thumbs down for MMD and RB and LT please publish the quotation.

  2. Is the MMD meeting the Mr Mpondela’s legal costs? Taking the paper to court has no effect on resoliving whether he said what he is accused of saying. It should have no bearing what so ever on determining a discplinary case against him. MMD is becoming a big joke!!!!!!!

    • They will pay all the costs believe me. They induced this act and so they will go for it 100%!! RB’s Govt has just been waiting for such a move from the Post Newspaper and Mr Mpondela is just a scape goat. The Govt are indirectly using Mr Mpondela to drug the Post to courts for such nonsense.

The Media is Zambia is at stake.

    • bmc, I strongly doubt if mr mpondela will sue the post for anything. I have dealth with mr Mpondela and believe me, he has so much pride to be used as a stooge. He may sue if he has run out of options in life and thinks that the only way he can continue breathing is by being in the MMD.

    • Right on the Spot!! There is more to life than being used by some party. A man with the integrity as described by Stripper will surely not dance to that MMD Whip.

  3. I can’t belive whats happening within the MMD ,MMD has gone to the D.O.G .S By the end of the year MMD will have suspended half of it’s memebers , KALEZA SURE .

  4. African politics are for dull people. even seemly smart people kind of metamorphose into retards when they join politics. so just leave politics to the mpombo, shjkapwasya, etc. in fact our current political leadership is a clear reflection of our electorate. don’t forget that probably an imbecile from shangomba or an illiterate village in chibomba helped elect RB as president.
As a nation we haven’t developed enough to to have universal suffrage. it toke hundreds of years even for the oldest democracies to have universal suffrage. i do not subscribe to the idea that a useless drunk from kaputa should have the same vote count as an educated tax paying guy. Food for thought 4 u bafanas

    • 8. Input, If I may differ with you and iverge slightly fromt he topic at hand. Every country deserves the leadership it gets, including Zambia. It is easy for us to blame the rural areas for RB in power, but we forget of the thousands urban tax paying electorate who also voted for MMD. Even where PF and UPND did well and got the majority vote MMD was always a closely behind. SO RB did get a high vote from the supposedly enlighted voters in the urban areas. We are all collectively responsible for the current mess we are in regardless of whom we voted for as the leadership is a product of its citizenry. We don’t hold our leaders to account but instead give them unbridled power to abuse us

  5. Lets be serious, who ever made those remarks that Mpondela shud take the Post to Court is seriously evil than the devil himself. Very very…………….. let me just stop here

  6. On “He said Mr.Mpondela was suspended on Saturday following an article in the Post Newspaper where he was quoted to have made remarks descrediting the leadership of President Rupiah Banda.

    edited.

    • Maestro, surely why suspend the guy. This is their chairman, the least MMD can do is help Mpondela sue the post without him being relieved of his duties. Did Mpondela disown the statement in the tabloid??

    • Major, while it is a terrible precedence for MMD to suspend Mr Mpondela for such wrong information on the part of the POST, I think the MMD is just trying to get the message across that the POST’s behaviour must not be entertained.
Edited- Poster risks being banned if you continue insulting other bloggers,Mr.Sata and bringing tribalism on LT

    • LT why did you not just delete the whole posting instead of limiting my information like you have done? What was wrong with the part you deleted. I would rather be banned than have pieces of my work removed when they were reflecting nothing but the whole truth according to evidence from for print newspapers, electronic media and television.

    • At long last , some long awaited discipline from L.T. This move is long overdue. One psychotic character bringing endless hatred on the blogg. No wonder so many bloggers have deserted the site recently. An overeducated dirty/infected mind you have Maestro.

    • LT thank you very much. Ala some of us were about to stop visiting your blog just because of Maestro Mwinga Mugungulu. He wanted to start his madness again thanks you have cut his tail. Now we can blog with joy and sing a joyful song…maestro tail is cut..LT has cut Maestro’s tail…and all the bloggers joined in a song and said AMEN LT.

    • Maestro i now believe that you are the strongest supporter of king cobra Mr. Micheal Chilufya Sata. He is very far away from this story but you still bring him in the limelight. Bravo! Maestro.Viva king cobra the only threat to the ruling MMD. I will talk to him this evening about you and probably reserve a seat for you to contest under PF. I think Matero can do for you an intelligent guy. Come on the boat is still big enough to take you on. Good day and many more support for our great leader king cobra. Remember he spits.

  7. But Mu Zambia muli ubupuba…If anything, why suspend Elias alone when he is reported to have made comments discrediting “his marjesty” RB on the same programe that Kopulande is also reported to have made similar comments? Zambia is a free society, as such, people should be free to express themselves without being intimidated…Whats wrong with the people in MMD, they have turned the country into one big circus…People should stop for a minute and see whats haperning in Madargascar…we will soon be on the same path to ruins if these people are allowed to run the country the way they are running it now…

  8. The condition given for the suspension to be lifted is a joke! These people have to be serious with how they run the ruling party

  9. I quote!!!
    Article 20 Freedom of Expression
    (1) Except with his own consent, no person shall be hindered in the enjoyment of his
freedom of expression, that is to say, freedom to hold opinions without interference,
freedom to receive ideas and information without interference, freedom to impart and
communicate ideas and information without interference, whether the communication
be to the public generally or to any person or class of persons, and freedom from
interference with his correspondence. (2) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution
no law shall make any provision that derogates from freedom of the press.

  10. MMD is finnished. After 2011 it will be buried at Garden house hotle where it started. there is total loss of direction and leadership.

  11. The happenings in the MMD are fearful. Even well-meaning members are scared of voicing their concerns for fear of being hounded out of MMD. These are clear signs of failure! It’s difficult to trust the MMD leadership. NS is not inspiring. HH keep away, else you will live to regret. The other day Teta asked Saki and Nawakwi to shut!

  12. Elo lwanya!!! I read the article in today’s post newspaper titled “Transcript of Let The People Talk featuring Mpondela, Kopulande”. I didn’t see anything that can warrant someone being suspended.

    • let him go, he is dispensable. he thinks he is too smart. that’s good for him or he will end up like penza or Tembo!

  13. Maestro stop confusing your hate for Sata with being progressive my dear. If this year LT gives you an award, then they are made of an inferior mould, the same one you are made out of for you to fear and hate a fellow human being the way you do about sata. Move on and get real and understand that a 100 of you combined will never rock zambia and the ruling party the way Sata does,

  14. We can’t have a President at state house dancing to the tune of kaponyas from Kulima Tower, Soweto etc. I miss Levy, I remember Levy castigating his ministers not to hero worship him. At one time, Levy even brought to an end the issue of cadres following him to the airport. No wonder he was very unpopular because he was against the idea of splashing out cash to appease cadres!!

  15. This is a clear indication that Zambian politics especially the RB way promote boot licking and prescriptive approach. This type of governance does not attract intelligent people because one end up being stifled in their judgment. Shame on these folks.

  16. Maestro

HH is desparate for recognition, but whatever the case one can not get recognised by wasting time with RB. Even Kafupi is busy wasting his time with RB after knowing he may go to jail. The only good about RB is that he is finishing a tonga in the name of Magande so that he can not rule zambia. For me zambia once umutonga aikata power ninshi lwanya mwebantu. So on finishing Magande to me RB is scoring 100%. Go RB go and finish Magande and Maestro to that effect. FTJ jail is waiting

    • Kwindi, I am not Tonga but I think we should not dwell much on tribe. We are all Zambians regardless of the tribe. To me it doesn’t matter who goes in State House be it a Bemba, Lozi, Tonga, Luvale, Kaonde, Ushi, Mambwe … the bottom line is that we are all Zambians my brother.

    • I am a person who can feel comfortable with all tribes of zambia, but due to the way Sikota was hounded out of UPND all in the name of having a tonga as the president of that party and coming to think of the fact that HH embraced the ideas and up to today has not condemned nor distanced himself from the whole idea, i find it rather hard to trust tongas. them come to see how people like Maestro bahaves towards Sata, as a Namwanga, i am more at peace with presidents from other tribes and not tongas. No apologies needed for that my dear blogger. I just hate tonga and the way they practice tribalism. I wish they can even become another country and not part of zed.

    • You are right! He should do himself some justice and forget all about plot one or else… he will spend the rest of his life miserable.

    • If we take Prof Chirwa for instance, the man was born in Mufulira, he has never stayed in East Province, he can’t even speak Nyanja but fluent in Bemba. Surely can you say this man is an “Easterner” and that when he goes to State house, Easterners will be at an advantage? Lets send some one to State house based on his capabilities, be it Sata, HH, Magande, Chirwa, Lukuku whoever…

  17. What are the educated Zambians in Zambia doing to control this nonsense? You have the Kaponyas and the uneducated youths demonstrating against anyone who goes against MMD.

We seriously need the educated people to stand up and take RB and his politics back to the farm. This shows you that the Zambia Airways so called scandal is rediculous, the aim is to destroy the Post Newspaper. What happened to free speech! I am very disappointed in african leaders, seems like there is no difference between now and the colonialism days, you still have some MFs!

  18. You people, what do you mean sueing the Newspaper? Act responsible and like educated people, the paper is just a medium like a microphone.Honestly can you sue a microphone? Do make him reverse his statement, its “freedon of speech”.

  19. The rule of the dragon and indeed the rule of fear has emerged setting aside the rule of laws and not of the vampires ,that one departed hero promoted it appears as a loner un supported by many. MMD where to from here??

  20. Look at Obama and Hillary Clinton!! There was a big fight during the elections and now they are working hand in hand. Look at the way Hillary attacked Obama during elections and you now wonder why he made her one of his important ministers!!

In Zambia never would you come across such!! It is the President first and then the People!! Shame

    • Obama is a thinker who has puzzled scholars and intellectual how remained so calm and focused against an avalache of racial abuse, lampooning by the press and fellow candidates. Since his aim is to fulfil the promises he made and successed it doesn’t matter who works for him, so long as they can do the job. He has put his ego aside.

  21. The Post is already an embatled limping paper clouded with expensive litigations from private citizens to now public investor institutions. This move is just designed to strangulate them to the graveyard using the legal process.Where will Mmembe get all these monies to settle thse endless litigations.I have been reliably learnt that despite running online, the hard copies on the streets are getting eratic. Yesterday the paper failed to run.Its Government supported free import print material is no more, duty is bitting them hard, ZRA are tighty on the door and operational cost hitting the ceiling. This is vicious noose placed on the tabloid.Mpondela’s business and work depends on MMD goodwil.

    • Thinkers are never short of ideas. The post might close down but the founders will soon find other business ventures.

  22. I laugh at all your devotion to hallucinations but at the end of the day, power is on the ground not in keyboards of armchair critics.

  23. MMD u-turns on Mpodela

The MMD has decided to lift the suspension of Elias Mpondela hours after suspending him.
MMD spokesperson Ben Tetamanshimba said Tuesday Evening that the MMD NEC has dioscovered that the suspension of Mr. Mpondela by the lower organ of the party was based on lies by the Post Newspaper.
Mr. Tetamanshimba said the NEC has since directed the Lusaka MMD constituency to lift the suspension of Mr. Mpondela.
Eralier in the day, Lusaka MMD constituency Chairperson Elias Mpondela was suspended from the party following an article in the Post newspaper.

    • Hats off Mr Tetamashimba and President RB Banda. Could you kindly make sure the whole Nation knows that the POST lied on Mr Mpondela and Mr Kopulande.

It is high time Zambians knew that the POST has a terrible agenda over any prospect of developing Zambia as “One Zambia, One Nation” in unity and development.

  24. MMD Lusaka Province Information Publicity Secretary, Henry Mutiti, revealed the development to journalists in Lusaka. He said Mr.Mpondela was suspended on Saturday following an article in the Post Newspaper where he was quoted to have made remarks discrediting the leadership of President Rupiah Banda. He said Mr. Mpondela’s suspension will only be lifted after he takes the Post Newspaper to court over the article.

    • What is the point you are trying to make Sr Citoyen because all you are doing here is copying and pasting?

    • #32 The problem I have with thecurrent leadership of MMD is that they make decisions without thinking , Like someone said ” We believe at once in evil ,we only believe in good upon reflection . Is this not sad” The MMD leadership is full embarrassment , counter statements and contradictions daily .For a ruling party this is not good to us as citizens

    • The whole aim was to create news that the POST Newspaper people are liars. Just wait and see, more of this firing and hiring back is likely to be taking place to show people that the POST is not a credible newspaper.

My advice to the POST is that they must begin to behave properly so that people can have restored confidence in them.

  25. MMD GONE WILD.
If MMD wins another election, then we should start asking ourselves about who we are and our sanity. I am very surprised that people who were attacking Sata when he was suspending people in PF are now quiet about the MMD Gone Wild that we seeing.

    • Prepare to start examing yourself because change is not born on Ghosts and rants you feature in tabloid front pages. MMD is headed for a 20 year rule be warned. They are in an overdrive consolidating the stamp while you are busy yapping and defending embatled racketeers.

  26. The party of hardknocks is at it again. They don’ t have the faintest idea how to educate their members but to harass, bully and expultion. If members can’t critise their organisation where is the freedom of speech?

  27. Mwamona nomba ba MMD mwailetelela. RB, a UNIP die-hard and zealot, ewo mwapela power? These tactics are pure old UNIP! Any way whatever else he may be, Mpondela like his mate Kopulande are just opportunists who are muselela kwakabas.

  28. It is interesting to read the diapora’s comments on the issue of Mpondela, MMD and the post news paper (represented by Individuals)of course. I have a gut feeling that most of us in the diaspora may be reponding to a half truth. I am tempted to believe that there is more to this saga than meets the eye. There is a possibility that all parties (Mpondela, Post News paper and Even MMD) may have some interest to achieve something in so as the, uterances and publication of the article.
