Rwanda, Algeria Draw

Share

Rwanda’s home 100% winning streak in the 2010 World/Africa Cup qualifiers ended on Saturday when Algeria held them to a 0-0 draw in Kigali in a final round Group C qualifying match.

The result in the two sides opening Group C match was also Rwanda’s Croatian coach Branko Tucak’s first draw in charge since taking over in April last year.

The draw comes after Rwanda’s famous home win over another North Africa side in their last 2010 qualifier played in Kigali when they defeated Morocco 3-1 on June 14, 2008.

Tucak’s 2010 record now stands at four victories, one draw and a defeat in the qualifying phase.

Rwanda, tied on 1 point with Algeria after their opening Group C match, next travel to Zambia on June 6 whom they will face at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

Zambia meanwhile, face Egypt at 19:30 Zambian time this evening in Cairo in both sides opening Group C match.

  2. I have a feeling that we shall play a better game. I will watch it and if possible you will be receiving updates every after a few minutes unless the technology disappoints me.

Mean while, all the best to the Chipolopolo boys.

  3. Pressure is on Egypt more than Zambia, because Egypt is playing in Cairo. Zamiba will try to play defense and get a goal on a counter attack or even a draw, For Egypt, it is a must win, no need for a draw,
Shahata is a wise wizard of a coach though he is facing the Frenchman Renard whom he has no historical notes to compare.
I hope we do not complain about playing under floodlights as was the trend before.
    Go Zambia Go Zambia Go!!

  4. Zimandola1:
I will post a link here when the game starts.. At the moment its too early to determine which links will work.. Be on the look out

  5. Good result for Zambia as the Rwandans had a Draw with the Algerians. As for the Zambia vs Egypt game, there is no time for funnies. I demand a win and not aims to defend and have a draw which are risks in case we see the ball as we saw it at the African Cup when Cameroun punished us 5 – 1 due to bad planning. Our only solution is to go for a win and nothing short PERIOD Go Chipolopolo Boys you could do it even very well.

  6. sure pressure is on the pharaohs,as such it will be 2-1 in favour of mother zed,go boys!! go copper bullets!!goal c katongo!!goal mayukaaaaaa!!!!!!!singulumaaaaaaaa, yayayayayaya he hits the post! here comes f katongo,he does a beauty, turns 360 degrees, brilliant pass to d banda, a man that has entered the TZ book of shocks,he looks up..this simply extraordinary, the pharaohs are chasing the wind now,as denis does a double 1-2…..yayayayayayaya to be continued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. yezyani!!!!!!
Don’t make me laugh… Anyway, to be honest, Egypt are very hard to beat at home.. Pressure may be on them, but they know how to respond, their fans are so passionate and the atmosphere inside Cairo Stadium is so intimidating especially for players who have not played at that level.. That said, we only wish our motherland best of luck!!!

  8. Yes best of luck to our chipolopolo. If RH uses the following line up then the pharoahs will find us hard to beat. 1. k. Mweene, Nyambe mulenga, joseph Musonda, Dennis Banda, Kampamba chintu, 6. misheck lungu, Rainford kalaba, Christopher katongo, strikers; Felix Katomgo, Singuluma and Jacob Mulenga. We could use 3-4-1-2 when attacking with chris as the link man and 4-4-2 when defending, with misheck being the defending midfieder dropping to assist the defenders.., Egypt likes parking 5 midfieders, but with this formular all movement from them will be curtailed. Now we await the game. We have hope in you guys. DIEYING A little is not enough, work hard all will be ok. Confindence + effort=win

  9. Bafuna kumipoka chintu chanu,,, goodman i will wait for your link i dont want to see on ba mwine’s p2p” lol!!!

  10. Full time .Egypt 1-1 Zambia, better result than most people expected. Here is our situation, after passing this first test with the pharoars. Next Game with Rwanda will equally be tough. The technical team must make sure we prepare adquately say arrange for high profile games with TEAMS like Ivory Coast, Moroco. This will be good for our team and also before the next games may our Goverment/Faz find some serious motivation for the whole team e.g Build them houses and a car each. Which they will be given keys after they qualify to 2010 world cup. MOTIVATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.
Congrats chipolopolo congrats. well done.I will provide my outlook to the other games. Qualifying is in our hands
