Police spokesperson Bonnie Kapeso confirmed to ZANIS in Lusaka yesterday, that three of the suspects of Kanyama compound were arrested on Saturday while two others were arrested on Sunday in Chawama compound.

Mr. Kapeso said the suspects included a former garden boy to the deceased who is alleged to have masterminded the killing of the Chinese national.
The deceased met his fate at his residence at about 23:30 hours when he was attacked and hit with an iron bar by the criminals who also stole his Mitsubishi Pajero which they later abandoned.

Mr. Kapeso also disclosed that the arrested suspected criminals were found with an AK 47 rifle with 30 rounds of ammunition, and foreign currency.

The suspects will appear in court soon.

  1. Give them a death sentence. There is no excuse for murder. How does it feel to take the life of another? Only the devil can feel good to do that.

  2. Ba Chale but these lads are just suspects, they could not be guilty,
In zambia with those toture tactics they do, eg akampelwa na battery ku bokosi, ilekocha they are bound to admit though ther are not

But ba chale the Queen here refuses the death penalty lets not forget people can repent, Mwalikwata ka Death penalty bushe ku Germany uko?

  3. What could be the problem with our brothers,is it unemployment or mistreating of workers by these foreigners.if it was a zambian who was madered police would not have done anything Any way hung those guys./

  4. sorry for the late chinese but let these people be afforded a chance to exculpate themselves. sometimes people find themselves at situational places such that they look very much suspect

  5. There was intent to murder so hung those chaps pliz,so that they set an example to others.MHSRIP for the chineses man,we pray to GOD to comfort his family,SOORY

  6. Hi Baby C, uli bwino mami? Ine ndi fye pa easy.
Ba Muzo awe takwaba Death Penalty kuno, but ine nda cita support. Life is too precious to be taken lightly. Life sentence bonse tula servinga pa calo, the only difference is that we serve it outside bars.

  7. Condolences to the family of the Chinese national who just lost his life in such an undesirable manner.I remember in the year 2000, a number of robbers attached a china-man who responded
by giving them nice kicks and grabbed their guns, fractured 1 or 2 of them just near his gate.Maybe this one was different,he had no skills at all.I smell fish here.Look here fellow bloggers. A piece of advice to they that are handling the investigations. They really need a psychologist to probe the garden boy.Not by torture, especially if the guy worked for the late for more than 8months.Garden Boy for a Chinese man?.Pressure -stress-depression.

  8. How many Zambian lives has been lost in chinese factory’s where Zedians has been burnt to ashes, because the chinese thought plastic wigs, were more precious than zambian lives. Chinese people in Zed should learn how to respect zedians first especially their workers or this is just the begining of PAYBACK for all the evil that they do to africans on african soil. Imagine using people from 6 to 6, 6 days a week and pay them “peanuts” (€15- 30 per month) while the china pipo are gaining loads of profit from the Zambian cheap labour. I dont blame the brothers who went AWOL, every day zedians are dying from poisoned stuff from asia and nobody seems to give a damn.

  9. #12 Maliposa Chemicals, I beg to differ with you. As a matter of fact, it would be morally right for you to request that LT removes your comment because it does not show a human face. How would you support such acts of cowardly & medievil barberism? Whether someone is underpaid or not does not justify resorting to killing people? Are you sure it’s only the chinese who’re underpayin us? Have u asked how much maids mumayadi are gettin? So, we should also support a maid who kills her boss for having been given a meagre pay. Tell you what, you should also ask whether we are giving value for money once we get into those jobs becaues if we really did, anyone would want to keep us and that in itslef would make us bargain for a better wage, but ngatulefumyafye ichushi, solebwana.

  10. Many times we point fingers at other people such as in this case blaming the chineese. Some of you guys who are oversea’s have some sort of business back home yet you are among the first people who are giving meager salaries to the people back home.In order to solve the problem of salaries, the government has to put in place good labour laws to support and protect the working people. ZRA also has to ensure that they are getting the right taxes from these people if people are getting below there salaries mentioned as a minimum the pepetrators must be brought to book. Many Zambians have also being murder in similar circumstances as mentioned in this story and investigation were done. Its not a matter of who was murdered. In order to reduce these murder its upto you and me to create…

  11. I understand Zambian’s need to hit back but homicide is not the solution. Investors coming into Zambia need to know upfront the rights of workers and most importantly Zambians should not sit there and allow to be mistreated.
