Sata praises Teta

Share

kingcobrasataPATRIOTIC Front (PF) leader, Michael Sata has pledged that his party will support the administration of local Government in Zambia.

The opposition leader has meanwhile thanked Local Government and Housing Minister, Benny Tetamashimba for exhibiting maturity in national affairs.

Mr Sata, in a letter to Mr Tetamashimba obtained in Lusaka yesterday pledged his party’s support in the running of the local government sector in the interest of Zambians.

This follows Mr Tetamashimba’s revocation of the suspension slapped on Chinsali District Council in Northern Province after Mr Sata had appealed to the minister to do so in the interest of progress.

“I acknowledge receipt of your letter reference No. MLGH/101/16/7 dated May 8, 2009 in respect of the above matter.

“I would like to thank you for the decision to revoke the suspension of the council and your manifestation of lack of pettiness in national affairs.

Accordingly, I promise you our party’s support in the administration of local government in the interest of our people,” Mr Sata says in a letter to Mr Tetamashimba dated May 15 2009.

He said that during the suspension of the council, one of the two members of Parliament (MPs) in the district allegedly abused and corruptly withdrew some constituency development funds (CDFs).

Mr Sata appealed to Mr Tetamashimba to facilitate the provision of auditors and the Anti Corruption Commission to investigate the matter.

“Honourable Minister, I would like to draw your attention that during the suspension of the council one of the two MPs in Chinsali District abused and corruptly withdrew large sums of money from CDF.

Would you please provide auditors and Anti Corruption Commission officers to investigate the scandal,” reads the letter.[quote]

And in another letter to Home Affairs Minister, Kalombo Mwansa, Mr Sata appealed that this year’s mobile national registration card exercise in provinces should be conducted fairly and transparently.

He complained that so far, the exercise had allegedly started in only four provinces mostly where MMD was popular and wondered why other provinces had been left out.

Mr Sata said it had come to his attention that the exercise was going on in Eastern, Central, North-Western and Western provinces, regions which were MMD strongholds and suspected that the move was political.

“Our past experience has shown that after undertaking the NRC exercise in a manner which promotes the MMD interests, your ministry in conjunction with the office of the Registrar General have come up with various excuses for not completing the exercise in the other provinces or have just slackened completely,” he says in the letter to Dr Mwansa dated May 14 2009.

  1. This is good ba Sata you are showing leadership. and hope Dr Mwansa will do something on Sata’s concern

  2. LoL, Once again I think the heading is misleading, from the contents it should read, “Sata thanks Teta” and not Sata praises Teta. Thats my opinion, but all in all Sata has shown political maturity in the way he handled the whole issue.

  3. Thats great my president mr Sata.you have always put the interest of the people first. You have always amazed me.Your leadership qualities are second to non at the moment in zambia.Come 2011,i will give you my full support.Viva pabwato!

  4. #6 Chewe you sound like you really are in love with the leadership of Mr Sata. He is already your President? I am amazed by your open support.

  5. Give credit were it is due. It is not just condemning which yeald results. Praise will humble someone. I hope RB will not fire Teta for being praised by his critic like shaka and chibomba.

  6. Ba Jamaco mulishani mukwai? Yes i love Sata so much, you know if Sata was to be the president today. We cant even see this kind of deep corruption where an individual aquires expensive vehicles and builds an expensive Lodge. With the money meant to improve the health sector. No generators at UTH,leading to the death of babies when power goes. All this happening because of a few selfish characters whose main interest is to enrich themselves. The worst administration ever in the history of Zambia. Levy was far much better than this man who is resting at some lodge somewhere.

  7. Sata is praying the mind of RB. He is praising Tenta becoz he was shut up by RB when he commented on Katele.

  8. Let the registration exercise be done comprehensively. This way when elections are held a clear winner is announced not with the debatable elections we have had so far.

  9. #12 Chewe !! I agree with you 100%
This man has been in politics for long and should be given a chance to demostrate what he is capable of doing. I am sure he has my vote for 2011.

  10. The title is misleading indeed, coz no one in their normal senses can praise teta. The media shd try their level best to get suitable titles to articles such as this one. The title given is totally wrong if you read the contents.

  11. Chewe the Virgin

Sata was in FTJ’s govt and this saw one of the highest corruption levels in the country. We saw lost of govt money misused even by the head of state himself.

To make matters worst, Sata supported the third term bid of this same corrupt system. I don’t think your statement on “if Sata was to be the president today. We cant even see this kind of deep corruption where an individual aquires expensive vehicles and builds an expensive Lodge” is justified because these things where happening when he was in govt and the only time he stood up to condemn them was after he the Chiluba admin. no longer existed. He never condemned them during the admin.

  12. Give credit where it is due. Muchmore, let’s give Sata a chance in 2011 to prove to us what he is capable of doing. Surely, can’t we have clean election results for once?

  13. #4 Disgruntled Zambia, you are very right the contents of the letter are thanking Teta rather than praising him……..an unrare gesture from the finished cobra.

  14. All children ,except one grow up ,as in peter pan .Similarly all old people know ,there are old except one …… king Snake , the king of chinsali but not Zambia

  15. As much as I loved Mr. Sata as a governor or minister, he still needs to convince me that he can handle the post of Zambian president. He was in support of Mugabe last elections, Mugabe’s cousin is Zambian president at the moment so I need a clear and present agenda to be sold to my intellectual pockets. But this is welcome news were even rivals thank one another. May this be more of What is to come, where even Teta can do something human and proffesional; has me confused.

Good job Mr Undereducate on Teta.. Following “Mr Sata said it had come to his attention that the exercise was going on in Eastern, Central, North-Western and Western provinces, regions which were MMD strongholds and suspected that the move was political“, I would like to advise media people to refrain or abstain from using the word STORNGHOLD and find a better to protect our people. Zambia is not in a war zone to use such divisive words for mere political parties and so journalists help us.

  17. Greetings Hhe Hhee why do you disrespect Mr. Sata in that manner. Education starts from birth so to say, if you say he is post standard education not aquired yes, but we get learned at school not educated. I know you love HH but he and Mazoka belonged to a cult called Freemasons. I have inside sources.

  18. #20, Free Market Economist – your post is the most sensible one I’ve read on this blog yet. Pity that a lot of PF supporters have extremely short memories and forget that Sata spoke not a single word against the rampant corruption and gross abuse of office that occurred in Chiluba’s time, and even sent thugs into the compounds to force another term of Chiluba’s nonsense into the same people everyone here claims he cares so much about. When fiscal spending was tightened up and corruption cases brought against notable figures during Mwananwasa’s tenure, he left the party. Actions speak louder than words – don’t be fooled by populist rhetoric. Talk is cheap.

Is that snake in the background photoshopped into the picture or is it actually in the scene? How ominous.

  19. Who is a worse tribalist on this blog Chewe the vagi who supports Sata a fellow Cibemba speaker or Mastro Hehe who supports HH a fellow chitonga speaker, or me who has observed the TWO. I need the, nothing but the whole truth.

  20. #20, Free Market Economist – your post is the most sensible and well-thought out one I’ve yet seen on this blog. Unfortunately, PF supporters seem to have extremely short memories and have quickly forgotten that Sata didn’t once speak out against the rampant corruption and gross abuse of office Zambia experienced under Chiluba’s rule – and the fact that he even tried to force another term of that nonsense on the very same people his supporters claim he cares so much about. Actions speak louder than words, as they say. Don’t fall for populist rhetoric – talk is cheap.

Is that snake photoshopped into the picture or actually in the scene? How ominous. I’m surprised no one here has said much about it.

  21. #27 – Bringing in the freemasonic allegation seems somewhat hypocritical when your favoured leader has a model of a cobra, after which he is named, on his office desk.

  22. i thought that opposition in zambia is ku bwata bwata fye (or is bwato bwato?). is this a sign of good things to come in the political arena?

  23. No# 30 Citizen Oh! I know about Sata and that open snake(cobra) atleast he does not hide. Plus he is not my prefered candidate. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Pray that our true representative gets enough courage the next elections. Oh! the Mazoka ones were not allegations.

27 Mwanawakwitu, on your “Greetings Hhe Hhee why do you disrespect Mr. Sata in that manner“, what do you mean by DISREPECT in your question? By the way, I respect all human beings in their full capacities and what guides my appreciation for them are the available FACTS and TRUTH. I do not settle for less or more.
As fpr “Education starts from birth so to say, if you say he is post standard education not aquired yes, but we get learned at school not educated“, you have touched the post standard case rightly with your YES. Anyhow, I have no problems with his past failures, but I am using them to help him go for more school so that he can come to a Grade 12 level or even PhD one. This is what building others is all about.

27 Mwanawakwitu, on your “I know you love HH but he and Mazoka belonged to a cult called Freemasons. I have inside sources.d“, firstly provide your INSIDE SOURCES AND INFORMATION. Secondly, I love you and all other human beings and it is just in the footsteps of Jesus Christ who died for all.
So, if president HH is a Freemason, I have no problem with that of that is what he wants. I support all humans beings in whatever they do as long as that is what they want. Check w w w . adventistist . o r g for details of SDA christians on religious liberty and how we respect other people who are not of our faith for I am an SDA

So, Freemason or not, I will continue loving president HH, PF self-appointed leader Undereducate MC Sata, you and all other human beings.
    Have a great day.

  27. Yes Teta, wakula nomba my dear. learn to listen to my president. Abakulu bakulu tabapusa akabwe. My President Sata, afwilishako ishi imbushi ukuteka. we depend on you.

  28. Sata praises or thanks Teta for doing something “good” in Chinsali. Next he see unfairness in the issuance of NRCs because it has started in Eastern, Western, North-Western and Central provinces. His main complaint is because the Bemba-speaking provinces of Northen and Luapula are not included. This man is not presidential material. It will be a great mistake to have this tribalist for president.

  29. Ati, Sata praises nani? Am i seeing things? Let me read again………… Oh, now i understand. Because this happened in Chinsali!!

  30. Greetings Hhehhehhe, thank you for the response my brother. Yes I to love all, though I cannot stand some people as a Christian it’s my duty to love but at the same time to be in the light. To defend people from darkness by information and living and working hard is my mandate. Remember evil prevails because usually good men sit back and do nothing. I appreciate you explaining that you want Mr. Sata to gain more tertiary education, which is wonderful; I was worried for a while but my heart is now settled. This I also tell you we need leaders that shall lead us in the light and not like the KK on earth God in heaven blasphemy. Great nations have fallen due to compromising God’s moral doctrines with peagan occultic darkness. That we should not allow on our beloved Zambia.

  31. #37. You don’t call pipo imbushi thats an insult. Sata is right to thank Teta for the good thing he did. Sata i salute you tho u are not my president.

  32. come on guys i know that the KIng Cobra is something else but lets not always look for tufukwa its just a gesture like the birthday gift ma’ke Nenani sent to Namib 1st lady
