Faz Sets Zambia’s Holland Camping Date

Share

Faz has said Zambia will travel for their European training camp in Holland on August 17 where they will be guest of Dutch Eredivisie club FC Utrecht.

This will be after Zambia take care of yet to be confirmed international friendly fixture against a yet to be named opponent that is scheduled for August 12.

“We expect the Chipolopolo to set up camp by August 17 in Utrecht,” Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza said.

“Facilities for training are being offered by the Eredivisie top side FC Utrecht which as you might be aware is (striker) Jacob Mulenga’s new team.”

Mwanza added that Utrecht will provide training facilities, accommodation and will also play a training game against Zambia while a couple of other warm-up matches are on the cards while in Holland for Herve Renard’s team.

The team will flyout to Algiers after the training camp that is expected to last over two weeks.

Zambia face Algeria away on September 5 in Algiers in a 2010 World/Africa Cup Group C qualifier.

The match will be a return leg match of the their June 20 clash that saw Group C leaders Algeria win 2-0 away at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

Zambia are second in Group C on four points from three games played.

Egypt or Rwanda could supplant Zambia from the number two spot should either win this Sunday when they clash in Cairo in their delayed third Group C match.

  1. Football in Zambia is causing a lot of heartbreaks let alone wasting taxpayers money. After 45 years of independence we cant even boast of one single modern stadium. It appears we are more corrupt than talented

  2. Why waste tax-payers money by camping these useless boys in Holland? It doesnt pay. the best FAZ can do is camp them in Kanyama or Mandefu, and arrange a a number of friendlys with Lusaka select side, Zesco os kabwe warriors.who cares? After all they will still give us the same s.h.i.t and it wont change anything.

  3. why waste money camping the chaps in holland? those boys are failures.. the problem with zambian football is partly caused my nepotism and plain corruption.. the chaps who usually make the team either are related to some top official or come from copperbelt or lusaka province.. what football is in CB or Lusaka nama yo!? these people should go in the villages and recruit players. from rural areas.. there is lots of talent there.. also it is discipline.. there is no way we can be brushing shoulders with national soccer team players muma tavern three days before they play a major game.. these boys need to be responsible.,.football is not jsut about skills..alot of social factors come to play in the determination of success

  4. Start identifying younger players. The current crop of players will not take us any were. I love our team but we have had enough of heartbroken

  5. also have you heard these players talk?? terrible english.. and then they decide to hire western coaches.. how will they understand what their coach is saying when most prpbably they cant even understand my level of english?

  6. these chaps are a disgrace, those based in europe are second class players playing second or third division football while the rest play in SA and isreal or palestine. No wonder anyone of them is not moving to the premiership. I hope they are not taken near the famous red light district otherwise they will forget about the algeria encounter.

  7. the government has spent a alot of money on these guys and yet there is no improvement, why cant they train in here?

  8. Yeah Mr Man ba Faz,these guys will be playing in the northern hemsphire of Africa, have that excutive put into consideration how the tempretures will be in there. It won´t make sense fi i if the difference is huge, unless if the difference is the same as always. The have to go to some countyr they can adopt to how the weather or tempreture will be like when the meet those dudes who hammered them in their backward.

  9. For your information. Zambia is ranked 17th in Africa and 77th on World FIFA respectively… Ivory coast 1st in Afica and 18th on world FIFA record. Will camping in Europe help improve the footballers’ standards? More international friends are needed NOT local clubs even European club 🙁

  10. Ah not again! The current national team does not boost my morale.I think i’m just wasting my precious time commenting on zambia national team.Let me sleep and do something passionate and refreshing, amabolo ya saka!

  11. It’s time national resources were used for more people oriented uses like industry development. Even timber is a source probable lasting employment of our people. Example is good enough, so my prayers for my country.

  12. We should be camping in Morroco or Tunisia ( same climate). I have never heard of a home team camping outside thier own country for a home game. They should have had the advantage by getting used to KCM pitch.
Faz executive still has a colonial mentatily that all foreign is better. Mark my words it will be a massacare in Algeria. Prediction Algeria 4 Zambia 0.

  13. NINE CHALE

yes thats tthe point.. when u fail or failed at school did you expect your father to praise you?? dont be slow..this is tax payers money ok! we have the right to demand and see success

  14. mbuzu ndiwe mbuzi.. dont just accept blindly eh! are you happy with the losing..? you are the same chaps complaining about nurses not been paid and yet you are happy to see money been spent on this team without even having any concerns about whether or not they succeed? please be realistic and think like a person who has been raised in Zambia before! we dont accept failure pa Zed maybe uko kuma america they accept we are sorry but pa zed things are different mudala okk?

  15. Give team a chance. atleast we need to qualify for ACN. Algeria beat us at home we can equally beat them at there backyard. its possible. Believe guys.

  16. Will camping in foreign countries (Europe) help Zam gain the much needed experience to beat algeria? Stop wasting money. Na papata

  17. #22 Walai. I meant you as the one who lasad on your posting #20. I typed 19 by mistake. I beg. You make great sense it is really foolish to waste money on these buggers . If they start winning maybe right now it is a no brainer with all the hard ships in the country.
