  1. Sink tank not think tank how do you expect him to think when he does not have the capacity? He makes these trips so he can have some per deim (spelling) . Smarter globe trotting way of realizing more bucks in the pocket

  2. What do you expect? The man is an intellectual well schooled, exposed to similar Global foras as a seasoned top Diplomat. He blends in well with clout and critical thinking intellect. Not sure of the Gambia’s Yahya AJJ Jammeh, all contemporaries engaged in the think tank are Graduates. This is why Kaponyas are ideal for partisan politics until death.

  3. Like many will recall that in the 90s, the then Head of state Chiluba assigned Sata to represent him at the WHO conference in Gabon.President Chiluba who took the embarrassment vowed never ever to falter like that.Sata without protocol kept walking out to puff his cigar, talking irrelevant with vulgar on fellow delegates. He failed to make any meaningful intelligent contribution on Zambia with articulation. When he was asked about Zambia’s GDP and other indexes, he out rightly said “yankosela ball-i don’t talk such matters” leaving the conference perplexed.

  4. This is why leadership must have trails of basic education other than risking the country with another Dada Idi Amini who behave weird because of their illiteracy and lack of face value. What can Sata articulate at the UN and such foras demanding classical intellectual discourses?

Bravo RB and pride to Zambia!!

  5. Ba LT find newsits not only RB,TETA ,SHIKAPWASHA and MULONGOTI that make news. There is so much happening in Zed.

  6. And to prove that MMD is pitched with kawaya wayas noise making gongs, State challenges HH over Zamtel shares

GOVERNMENT has challenged United Party for National Development (UPND) president, Hakainde Hichilema to acquire the 75 per cent equity partner shares in Zamtel if he thinks the 25 per cent shares which will be reserved for Zambians after privatization are not enough.Baselessly Hichilema who directly plundered and benefited from privatization of Livingstone’s Sun Hotel and Luanshya’s Binani mines fears RB will in the same manor benefit from ZAMTEL.

  7. Zamtel is falling, let them come up the dollars and buy the 75% shares in Zamtel.Independently i have a different financial structure to the 75% share spread but HH’s rubbish talk show needs to be challenged. With all their cadres from the 24/7 insulting blogs let them come up with money to buy the 75% shares.

  8. Cabinet Committee member on Zamtel, Kenneth Konga said it is wrong for Mr Hichilema to criticise Government for allocating 75 per cent of the telecommunication company’s shares to an equity partner before finding out the reason.

Mr Konga was part of the five-member cabinet committee constituted by President Banda to find a lasting solution to the financial and technical problems of Zamtel.

He said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that a number of factors were taken into consideration before arriving at the decision.

Mr Konga said Government decided to allocate 75 per cent to an equity partner because it believes no Zambian has such kind of money to invest in the company.

He said Mr Hichilema should desist from politicising the privatisation of Zamtel as it is being done…

  9. Mr Konga who is Minister of Energy and Water Development said Zamtel has a huge debt and requires a capital injection of not less than US$200 million to survive.

He said there is no Zambian with such kind of money to invest in the company.

“If Mr Hichilema has a lot of money, let him buy those shares because, after all, we have not yet found an equity partner for Zamtel and so he is very much welcome to invest US$200 million in the company.

“As a committee, we took a number of factors into consideration before allocating the 75 per cent shares to an equity partner because we believe no Zambian has that kind of capital to invest in the company,” Mr Konga said.

He said Government decided on offloading the remaining 25 per cent shares on the Zambian market because some…

  10. Mr Konga said opposition political parties and Zambians in general should desist from developing a tendency of always criticising Government on its decisions even when they are taken in good faith.

He was reacting to Mr Hichilema’s sentiments that the 25 per cent shares in Zamtel to be sold to Zambians are insignificant and that the UPND would have preferred that more shares are sold to the public.

Mr Hichilema accused President Banda of trying to benefit from the privatisation of Zamtel.

He said although he is not against making Zamtel viable, he wanted transparency in the manner in which RP Capital Partners of Caymen Islands was engaged to undertake an evaluation of the company’s assets.

  11. senoir citizen, are you sure that you are blogging on the right blog. your posts seem missplaced or are you just bursting out ? as i cant relate what you are writing to the article above.

  12. senior citizen, are you sure that you are blogging on the right blog. your posts seem missplaced or are you just bursting out ? as i cant relate what you are writing to the article above.

  13. Towards smarter globe-The Smart Partnership Way for realizing socio-economic transformation through regional integration.

In simple english “Global” here means world and “Intergration” means comming together.
    New World Order.
    prepare.

  14. mmmmh but this Museveni also! Why did he had to take the First ladies to this place called ” Munyonyo”?By the way, what’s ba Maureen Mwanawasa doing there also?I think Munyonyo is not a good place for our presido to visit!

  15. Hey ba (#11 Senior Citizen) mwachita over! I think (supergirl) is right, you seem to have crossed the line ,if not,you have definitely misplaced your comments on the subject above.

Well, nevertheless,i hope and pray RB will participate actively in that think-tank discussion because when it comes to thinking ba RB amano yonse yalaya mwitoloshi !!!

  16. Senior citizen you are on payroll which gets renewed after 5 years (presidential elections). Just eat do not flatter unjustly. Go back to Zambia. eating in USA IS GOOD FOR YOU ALONE. There are two chaps who paste useless materials, and you are the first one.

  17. RB is very considerate he continues to allow former 1st Lady Maureen in his delegation. Or that meant to school Thandiwe in handling matters pertaining to first ladies on tour of duty with husbands. I hope this will continue.

  18. The only member I can pick out of this lot as being a think tank is the Tanzanian president Kikwete.Mbingu should have been there too.RB will be begging the others and donor community to help him build Zambia.Being a graduate does not make you a think tank!

  19. #3, 4, 5 Senior BOOT LICKER RB WAMUYAYAYA

I hope your hero is not going to Uganda to bore delegates explaining how whatever he has touched in his life has failed. Remember he run down Allen West, ACB Bank, UNIP, etc.

I hope his 2 degrees in Sleeping and the other one in Running down every enterprise he has attempted to manage will help him avoid being exposed for the total failure that he is.

  20. Do Zambians themselves know what we have achieved during RB’s tenure.

What progress in Zambia does Zambia attribute to this SMART Partnership. Does anyone on this blog know? Please educate us.

  21. RB has a limited intellectual capacity to engage in such matters even if he’s a graduate, i’m sure this is just another trip to waste the tax payers money. I mean can he think in a Think Tank when he can’t think outside one?Does he know why he’s there? what is he going to propose? or is he just listening and coming back home? What achievements has he accomplished for Zambia? i think we have so many challenges in Zambia that even a small change will be noticed i know it’s been less than a year but all I’ve seen is him firing minister that are good for The Post Newspaper and a Monkey Pissing on him, give away free land and I’m sure because he can’t attract investors asks everyone to tell their friends to invest in Zambia “you’ll get free land, ask the King”. Now that’s thinking…

  22. ah guys leave senior citizen.. that’s what seniors do.. they like to talk and ramble on about nothing. Let him be. Either way… as I said before.. this whole partnership is a waste of africa’s time

  23. ha! ha! ati ‘Smart Partnership, and ‘Think Tank’, were do they come up with this stuff? Dejavu dude # 31, i skim if we put our heads together, that can be arranged.

  24. What can RB, a president of a poverty-stricken country, contribute in such a high level meeting. Zambia is wallowing in poverty and the president is clueless except specialising in addressing cadres. Incidentally from which universities did he obtain the two degrees that he boasts about? Zambia has no hope in hell with RB as its president. Please read the comment in today’s Post. It is worrying to have such a president.

  25. On “Former First lady Maureen Mwanawasa is also in attendance“, this is good from Mr President RB Banda for showing appreciation to the one who appointed him Vice President which saw him ascend to the Presidency of Zambia after a sad election.

All I can write is that it is your time to enjoy and do whatever you can while you can. When the UPND-PF PACT coalition government may come, things will be reversed for the real betterment of Zambia.

    Have a blessed day all.
