Team Zambia U-14 gracefully bowed out of the 37th edition of the ongoing Norway Cup despite bashing Hvam & Haga of Norway 5-0.The Zambian girls who lost their opening match to Tertnes and drew with another Norwegian team Oppegard, outplayed their counterparts. Hellena Mubanga scored a hat-trick with Mary Mwakapila scoring a brace . The girls were even more motivated by the “Chipolopolo” support given by the Zambians living in Norway lead by EduSport’s Kabanda Mwansa.
The final results has seen Tertnes and Oppegard qualify to the next round of the competition with 7 and 5 points respectively.Team Zambia came third with 4 points and at the bottom is Hvam & Haga with no point at all. The third position makes Team Zambia have place in the B plate that kicks off today.
Team Zambia trainers Gregory Shikombelo and his assistant Frankson Muchindu have acknowledged that their team lacked confidence in their opening match and that has cost them a place in the pre-quater finals. However they were quick to appreciate that the tournament has been a good boost for the girls.
The coaches now look forward to collecting some silver ware from the B plate. The Zambian envoys leaves for Zambia on the 2nd August.
Impessive results, with the confidence the girls are gaing with each game they play , they will go far in the tournament……Tupolopolo iyeeee
Good performance. The big one has always eluded us. Dennis Liwewe, that gallant son of the soil, would have said; ‘I thought we were there……., but we were not there.’
Good game did i know that even our young females can fly like that
#3. The Mwine. I bet you’re looking at the picture about Mary Mwakapila. Impressive stuff.
Well tried girlz, better luck next time. And the FAZ/KCM Divizion 1 futbo?
We needed to send some attractive girls next time, those one sent are monsters that we sent, they needed to wear veils.
That gives Zambia a Bad name for tourism, because they now think that there is nothing good to Hammer in Zed.
Not very impressive performane. In any competition you build and start with confidence from the word. Fackson Muchindu, who is this chap? First loss and draw had shown that preparations were not enough. There is something with our sporting technical bench amakochiz, they lack strategy and always cry foul. We had boxer Chisamba losing his African Union lightweight in France recently reason the chap picked momentum in round six. There is nothing like losing gracefully. A defeat is always a defeat. Looking at FAZ they have not yet camped the team for Algeria outing yet our opponents are all over the globe preparing against us. What sporting spirit and strategies ……
#6, this was not a beauty contest please. Leave the girls alone. Go Zambia go Zambia go…!!!!
Is this team a selection of under 14s or a football club in Zambia?
kelvin ulishilu swine
Well done girls ala fisanga abaume tommorow might turn out to be your day
That jersey they wore need to be our national jersey. Not white and green. In the 70’s and 80’s Zambia was known for the copper colour, remember Ucar Chitalu in that orange with black stripes. When Zambia was playing Algeria at Konkola last month it took me time to realise that Algeria was in green and not Zambia, FAZ Kalusha do something.
Bola Panshi #12, well Zambia should have 2 colours for its national team. And then decide which colour they should wear for home matches and away matches this can help avoid confusion by suporting an opponet team. Here we have white for home and dark blue for away matches
