President Rupiah Banda has urged the people of Chitambo Constituency to elect a Member of Parliament who will easily access government resources for use in the development of the constituency.
President Banda urged Chitambo residents to vote to the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) candidate Dr. Solomon Musonda because he would bring about development in the area.
Mr. Banda was speaking at when he addressed scores of residents during a rally at Gibson Basic School and Katinda Basic School in Serenje today.
President Banda said Dr. Musonda was a capable leader because he understood and articulated issues well.
Mr. Banda said government, through its Area Members of Parliament, was particularly committed to bringing development to rural areas.
On the rehabilitation of roads, Mr. Banda said government has since dispatched Earth moving machines to all districts to work on the road network in all the districts.
He said the move was in line with the election campaigns during the presidential by-election.[quote]
Speaking earlier, MMD National Chairman Michael Mabenga urged political leaders in the country to emulate the leadership of President Banda who is focused on national development.
Mr. Mabenga urged the people of Chitambo to vote for the MMD candidate because the MMD government is committed to national development.
And Chief Kankomba said the people in Serenje District were happy with the leadership of President Rupiah Banda.
He said President Banda is the first Republican President to visit the area since independence.
Chief Kankomba said it was wrong for some people to label traditional leaders as partisan by virtue of supporting the government of the day as they were justifiably helping to all the people regardless of political affiliation to bring about development.
Meanwhile, all the eight chiefs in Serenje District have thrown their support behind the MMD candidate Dr. Solomon Musonda.
President Banda is tomorrow, Monday, scheduled to hold another rally at Chitambo grounds before moving to Kando Basic School where he will hold another rally before leaving for Lusaka.
The Chitambo by-election which has been slated for August 13 was necessitated following the death of area member of parliament Nasim Hamir.

Working up to nonsense….President Rupiah Banda has urged the people of Chitambo Constituency to elect a Member of Parliament who will easily access government resources for use in the development of the constituency. …..Every one must have easy access to the resources nomba tule voter nefipuba just bcoz they will have easy access ?????Zambia will never go forward not in a million years.
Govt needs to get a handle on those violent thugs beating up journalists otherwise MMD will be no different to PF. Where will that lead us?
PF leader Michael Sata’s big red eyes and rotten teeth scare Zambians especially children and that is why they prefer to vote MMD in all elections. They know that Sata who derives his Name from Satan is Devil’s envoy to Zambia.Only Satanists and mansonists work with him.
It is not difficult for anyone to realise or guess why Mr Sata has today become the most ardent defender of people who plundered public resources. This is simply because they are his financiers.
Even the US$27,000 that was taken away from him in Johannesburg and confiscated by the South African authorities came from these same people. We know money can make even wise people blind to the truth and reality, and prevent them from being honest in their utterances and actions. But Mr Sata shouldn’t forget that it is not all Zambians who are benefiting from this loot.
In 2001, we saw Sata as national secretary of the MMD unleash a corruption-funded thuggery on Chiluba’s political opponents within MMD. Ministers who did not agree with the third-term campaign – which Sata was championing – were being beaten and harassed in all sorts of ways. Mr Sata became synonymous with the violence that rocked the political scene at that time.
Nakawala, that poor woman, became his emissary of terror. We have not thrown away our archives. We remember Scorpion Kadobi and his band of hoodlums that Mr Sata was using to campaign for Chiluba’s third term. We are fully aware of how his colleagues who did not agree with the third term were barred from attending the MMD national convention in Kabwe.
When the Speaker of the National Assembly Amusaa Mwanamwambwa would not expel the dissenting voices from Parliament, it was Mr Sata who personally went to try and intimidate the Speaker. Mr Sata defended Chiluba at that time when an impeachment motion was filed against him. His defence of Chiluba had nothing to do with principle. He was positioning himself to be anointed as successor. We have not forgotten these things.
When we keep quiet, it is to give the man a fair chance to stand or fall by his own utterances or deeds. But when he begins to attack the principles we have stood for, the ideas we have fought for and defended with everything that makes us, he crosses the line.
What binds Sata a Devil’s envoy to zambia and Hichilema a mansonist is their convenant with the dark secret world of satanism and battle against Zambian christian nation degree.
#3-7 Senior Citizen, why change your ID to Easy? Do you feel threatened by a lot of the anti-establishment crowd of bloggers on LT? Just keep you ID man. This is what democrasy is about. Though some of us don’t comment, we enjoy your rants and ponts and the different angle you bring out. Keep it up my man, you have my support . And certainly a big fat NO.. you are not Ben Kangwa. Your writing style is very academic and I personally know Ben Kangwa and that is not the way he would write. But boy, its fun to see have you guys are slagging it out with PF/UPND cadres on this site. Thanks for the entertainment
I have had enough of these MMD clowns running Zambia. And by MMD I am including chi Sata who was part of this govt even ka HH who stole under privatization, today they claim they will do better. They have taken advantage of the ignorance and poverty of the people and ride on it to keep oppressing people. Zambia is doomed, I sometimes wonder if I will go back to my very own country if new credible leaders do not emaerge- that is real painful to contemplate. F them all, mother-F them all. Sorry for cursing.

“On the rehabilitation of roads, Mr. Banda said government has since dispatched Earth moving machines to all districts to work on the road network in all the districts. He said the move was in line with the election campaigns during the presidential by-election.”
This vagrant of a President just admitted electoral malpractice in plain black and white. I cannot help but agree with Katona above. We need to scrutinise these people who we somehow allow to lead our country. The masses need to be educated.
BA LT since thursday i have not been able to send threads to any topic on the blogg yalenjeba ati 500 internal server error.but other people were posting.nomba bushe mwalengafye olo yashani? Njebeniko.
Chinondo,
Are you new to LT to mistake me to SC? I have been Easy from the time Kabaso started the project here blogging with the likes of Ba Joze, Kuku, Sage then came Hehehehehe metro. If not mistaken SC is very recent to the thread.Just because i post from the USA, i’m also SC now you say posts from the Zambian Embassy in Washington? Fish out my many posts, i one and the same Easy. And you think SC can be moved by armchair critics? Good luck as you are yet to know the caliber of SC as a firebrand.Anyone who tears down Sata is SC hah hah hah hah.haaaaaah….
Katona # 9, You risk being called SC unless you become a Sata disciple like Kwathukummawa and start adulterating Sata as a heroic leader?
#4 Easy. What you are saying its ok for MMD to act violently but wrong for other parties? Mwana the opposition out number you MMD and if they decide, they can make Zambia ungovernable. Am sure you dont want that. You insult Sata because he is a threat to your your comfort Zone.
LANDMARK VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN OUR INSULTING POLITICS IN THIS MOVE
At the same rally, seven chiefs openly campaigned for MMD’s Musonda. The chiefs, who were introduced at the rally by chief Chitambo, urged their subjects to vote for the MMD candidate.
Chief Chitambo said he had never voted for the opposition in the last 20 years. He said people would not have a future if they threw their votes in the ‘bwato’.
He said the chiefs were not playing politics but merely wanted to see peace in their areas. Chief Chitambo said that peace could only be guaranteed by the MMD.
Chieftainess Serenje said people should not change by voting for the opposition.
“Even if we were hurriedly brought here, we are not hungry, we are happy that he (President Banda) is here,” said…
All Chiefs said,“Even if we were hurriedly brought here, we are not hungry, we are happy that he (President Banda) is here,” said chieftainess Serenje.
The chiefs had earlier privately met President Banda at Gibson Basic School after they were ferried to the boma the day before yesterday.
President Banda thanked the chiefs for attending the rally, as representatives of the people. He said it would not be surprising to see today’s Post newspaper saying that chiefs were interfering in politics.
President Banda said chiefs were only stakeholders in the running of the country and no one should scare them.
Its time we change our politics from insults to issues. Here we are insults have failed us they have backfired in our face.
HH must seriously think twice and reflect if his gaffes with Sata have any long term consequences.
Chief Chitambo said he had never voted for the oppostion in the last 20 years effectively meaning that he never voted for MMD in 1991 because it was in oppostion. What a farce hunger strcken chiefs are showing
Mr Easy
# 13 sorry for the error. Wrong assumption I guess. I must say your writing style and the way you build up or stack up your arguments or point is very very similar to SC, hence my assumption. Good day
Zambia is dead and that is that
#20 this chief is smokes too much dagga, ibange too much
sorry for my spelling mistake
Mabenga is telling lies. RB is not the first president to visit Chitambo area since independence. KK visited the area in 1972 at Dr Livingstone memorial site. we are tired with the bunch of liars.
Politics of poverty.
The chief’s are opening themselves up to being dragged in the political mud as their subjects have different political views.
Lets hope the people are seeing through the RB lies.
Banda has been giving ishi imfumu ama gifts like ifipuna, ama computer etc. We have a big problem in Zed. Give a Girland a whif of money, and give Banda Rupiah a chain of women and you will see development. Hats off for King RBB
MMD useless they are not taking the country anywhere. The country look so terrible and dirty. looks like Zambia is only Lusaka. We need a change mwe Bantu.I have never seen a President around the world who don’t have anything to do like RB. This man is everywhere and wherever he goes MMD supporters are dancing for him, Minister, Police are there to welcome him. Fyakale mwe Bantu. These things are not happening in other countries. God help us
It hurts to see mothers dancing like that for an individual-a fellow human being!
I can’t wait for dual citizenship law to be enacted, because of Zambian 1d1ots like EASY and Teta am seriously contemplating for Namibian or Rwandan citizenship. Am sorry but i can’t stand these f@@ls.
Just seen that the president will be holding private meetings with chiefs. More brown envolopes and bails sugar then! These guys will never be removed from power. I feel sorry for the people.
“PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda yesterday said PF leader Michael Sata’s big red eyes scare children and that is why they prefer to attend his rallies and not Sata’s.
Read more…” Since RB became president, he has never discussed development apart from personality and physicalcal features of a aperson. In fact he’s a liar when he says children avoid Sata’s rallies in preference to his. Really, no one is responsible to how s/he looks but God the creater. Just like RB wasn’t responsible for hi thick facial skin which makes him look more like a combination of a hoppo and crocodile. But we cant’t laugh at him. Cos God meant him to be a boxer.
Even more hurting to the president enjoying someone s wife dancing for him for money to feed her children.
I know the master of the wind and i know the maker of the rain, he can calm the storm, make the sun shine again.. Jesus is the master of the wind! Heal our nation lord
#31 PETER’ If it was Sata who said those words Shikapwasha would term them as insults.
When the two elephants finghting each other, the grasses intend to suffer more, wen the politicians are busy fighting each other,we the pipo intend to suffer more en become the victim
of povert, this is how the rich pipo play it,to be safe just, work hard 4 yo future.!!
Is our prez becoming senile? If not, how come he cannot present any thoughtful discourse. He is doing baby talk most of the time, like saying “Sata’s eyes scare children”. When he attempts at something with some depth, he gets it all mixed up or wrong altogether, like saying Magande sold 75% shares to Robobank – which is false & yet I don’t think he remembers that at the time of Zanaco sale, he was the Vice President of the country. Is he saying as a veep, he didnot know what was going on?
President Rupiah Banda has urged the people of Chitambo Constituency to elect a Member of Parliament who will easily access government resources for use in the development of the constituency.
What a stupid comment from a president. These people think this country belong to them and their children. Let us vote these fools out and redeem our mother Zed guys!!!!
IMWE PLIZ, NISHANI KANSHI CATHERINE NAMUGALA LYONSE NABA PRESIDO. THANDI CENJELA MWANDI.
Having people like Senior Citizen and Easy who cannot make sense in anything they say is not helping our enlightened readers. None of us has made Sata a hero and neither do we agree with the nonsense the govt espouses everyday. We need a progressive Zambia as stooges, like Senior Citizen or senior nonsense, will not at all put food on the table for Zambians. I bet you these people are just imposters, bootlicking for the purpose of pleasing their masters. But their masters also know how useless they are and that is why they use them for ranting nonsense.
#39 I think bala mubamo ba wisi Henry
# 30 dual citizenship> dont even consider Rwanda we dont want genocide.
This is what it means to get politicians from the archives to rule. You get Stone Age politics, so Zambia is now starting from the 17th- 18th century.
Awe, my relatives and friends are suffering by being led by people from the Stone Age. This dancing for the “KING” should be brought to an end- Where are the so-called women’s NGOs who are silent when it matters but will notice pornography in an illusion.
when, I was younger, I used to touch myself a lot and used to want woman. but things are different now, because of role models and Friends in the MMD that prayed for me. Now I am a New Man
Vote MMD and change your life
#44, Tetamashimba, Mike Mulongoti and Rupiah Banda – only God can save us from their ignorance. But forgive our President as he was only woken up at night to become a Veep and unfortunately thrust into the hot seat due to our misfortune of losing the second best president of Zambia. There is no doubt that KK was the best president followed by the late LPM and then hopefully RB and the worst ever president of Zambia is FTJ. He presided over all the damage we are seeing today. Now RB, surrounds himself with people who are clueless like Teta and Mulongosi, lishamo sana!!! He may even be worse than FTJ if that is possible at all!!
#1: to hear MMD campaign using enticement like “easy access to development funds” is nothing new. years ago they said “you do not develop because you keep voting for the opposition!” I shuddered when i saw how much they take from my salary each month and they go and call that theirs to disburse only to govt MPs…
All you scumbags who had faith in SATA and have been buying his cheap propaganda must see reality in what is happening to JACOB ZUMA another illiterate who gunnered his support by cheating ignorant south africans.so it’s time you people stopped buying shit and start listening to serious people who articulate issues like prof clive chirwa.but in zambia you can’t because most of you have brains still in the foetus stage.what want to hear sweet talk like you will be having more money in the pockets.it’s a pity.so learn lessons from south africa and tell the difference between the promising ZUMA and the non promising MBEKI.
Since independence no one went there but because of elections the president goes and people think he is there to visit ,he is there to lob and will forget people vote for the right person and that u will never regret about
If Banda wants to resort to insults while his wife resorts to stealing from former employers, what do people of the nation resort to? This is low caliber behavior by the so called president. I know some of you will support everything he does, but is it right for him to start ifisapo? And you expect development from this guy? Sad that Zambia has failed to find real leaders and for sure even those poor villagers are wondering what type of a president they have in RB. RB must be debating issues, not people. In fact the person who scares children is one that steals form their meagre resources as students. I would fear more of criminal like Thandiwe and Kapoko that Sata’s looks. In essence, RB is rebuking God. Sata did not create himself with that image, but God. What a fool RB must be.
#1 yes that is hindering Zambia’s development. gvt should be made of wise men and women from all political parties. In Zambia only the ruling party want senior posts being held by them >> What make the difference between a one party rule? >>> #5 thats interesting where is Nakawala nowadays? Sata can support anything that can keep him confortable. I read about him campaign for uneducated woman for a parliamental seat in Luapula province few years.
This is what I know about Zamtel! Quote” Sata said. “He is not telling the nation that before the judge Dennis Chirwa tribunal, Dora Siliya went to Dubai to meet a Dr Serato on the sale of Zamtel.” “Mrs Banda has been on pay roll for the passed 3 solid year.” This presido is full of s*****t. There is no turning point on sale of Zamtel, the company is already been sold there are now heading to hand over to the new owners.
Easy you are a coward!!
RB has failed to govern Zambians,we need people that will move Zambia forward,& this is PF,VIVA Sata!!! VIVA!!
Easy and others of you who are insulting Sata, are waisitng your time, Sata is popular and has recorded good votes in the urban areas because enlitened people understand that he can deliver. Only rural dwellers who are not exposed to media and most are iliterates (iliterate levels in Zambia are very high) are diceaved with citenge and lies and fertiliser. So just shut up
Sata does not know how parliament works – thats why he initiated an impeachment process when there was not enough time according to his own mouth. He even said that he was not sure as to how far the lawyer charged with the process had gone. Is this the kind of man who really can deliver poverty alleviation to Zambia? Even if you dont like RB, you cant possibly think that Sata would be any better as he cant organise a piss up in a brewery.
Some one made reference to the Speaker on this forum? As I haave said before, there is not one single institution that is free from corruption in Zambia today! From State House and the man who occupies it, through Government and the Judiciary to Parliament. They are all corrupt! TheSpeaker is and has always been corrupt!
As far as i am concerned, there is no difference between Thandi, Chiluba and Kapoko. They are all thieves.
Zambia is doomed. Honestly, never in our history has the outlook looked so bleak. We have a fool in power and fools in opposition. What is one to do?
Banda’s presidence is a tragedy of unimaginable proportions and the sooner all who have eyes to see and ears to hear can realise this, the better for the country. Never have I ever come accross a Southern African president soo much alike West African goons, no wonder his first foreign destination was Nigeria where coups and plunder of state coffers is the order of the day.
