A 45 year old man of Chalwe Kalima village in Mwense area of Chief Kasoma Bangueulu in Samfya district has committed suicide following a domestic quarrel with his wife.
Luapula Province Police Deputy Commanding Officer Muweswa Wakwinji confirmed the development to ZANIS saying the deceased Tela Mulenga took his life by consuming poison and is believed to have died between midnight and the early hours of yesterday (Sunday).
Mr. Wakwinji said that neighbors reported that Mulenga might have decided to kill himself after an argument around 18:00 hours with his wife on suspicion of her committing adultery.
His body was retrieved by police and was lying in the mortuary.
And Police are investigating suspected arson to the property of Dominic Mutale of Mwamfuli village, following fire that razed down the structure and left 18-year-old Frederick Mwila who was sleeping inside with burns on the ears and part of the head.
Mutale told ZANIS that fire, which started mysteriously, swept through his workshop around 21:00hours on Thursday night destroying ready made furniture and raw materials worth millions of Kwacha.
Mr. Mutale said it was fortunate that Mwila who was sleeping inside the store room managed to break out despite the exit route being fully engulfed in flames and fumes.
He said that Mwila was rushed to Samfya District Hospital where he was being treated and has since been described to be in a stable condition.
Mr. Mutale has appealed to well wishers to assist him with capital to resume his once thriving carpentry business.
An on the spot check by ZANIS found the structure had been reduced to ashes.

Well, the problem of marital infifelity can one that is very difficult to deal with. It is only natural to feel a great deal of disappointment when someone you love and may trust betrays your trust. To commit suicide because of that however, to me looks a little extreme.
very very rare for chicks to kill themselves coz of the infidelity of a dude coz i skim chicks are always on standby that an own will mess up, considering the number of female in jeans all over the place. it is implanted in a dude that the wife will never cheat, thats why we take it so hard wen it happens. the will to live just totally books out, specially if the own is totally faithful and not really well versed in the way the world works when it comes to matters of the heart. everyone shud have a buffer area for dissapointment. it is dangerous to fall in love like totally head over heels coz when it all come tumbling down, so will u.
It is very sad indeed that this man took his life just for a woman. Also women of today like extra marital affairs, I wonder why it is so and is happening everywhere every day. May God deliver us from this evil.
The man was indeed in absolute shock. But there is a better thing he would hav done rather taking his own life. The bible does not encourage divorce unless in cases of immorality. This man shud hav just divorced the wife. Please don’t get married if u don’t know what it takes. Marriage is not an emergence so take your time.

Thats why she probably cheated the man sounds like his blood has more oestrogen than her. If a woman cheats on you and you resort to suicide that makes you a spineless jellyfish in human form. If I was cheated on I would count it as a blessing and cut the damn woman off and go show her what my pedigree involves. The only way to get back at a female that cheats on you is to upgrade into a way better one not kill yourself
This is now becoming the order of the day in Zambia. Barely a week passes without news on domestic related suicide or killings. Itezhi tezhi is leading in this aspect!! So sad but the powers that be should get to the route cause of this! Things dont just happen, there is always an underlying cause! Someone please check this or is it that we wait for Jesus to come back and sort out issues? Zambia shall saved concept!

Thats what happens when a man loves a woman 100%. So men out there always remember to leave room for disappointment every time you fall in love, that way you won’t be able to take your life.
Life is really pointless IMHO; I cant blame a guy really. Many a time I have also thought about just getting over with it. Tho not over a woman of course!

I have never thought about committing suicide over such an issue because i know that its a sin.However i am not gona raise my finger and call those guys spineless in bemba there’s a proverb which says something like”you should only talk down about a forest after you have walked thru it”. We can only survive some these deep heartaches by the grace of God

who do we blame, alcohol or the man or both? I’ve been hearing people dying of alcohol for over 20 years and nothing has been done.
