Vice President Goerge Kunda has assured the people of Western Province that the MMD government will continue delivering the promises it made during the 2008 Presidential By-election campaigns.
Mr. Kunda says government is decisive and has come up with a budget cycle which will ensure that projects and pogrammes are implemented within on year.
The Vice President was speaking when he addressed scores of Mongu resident who welcomed him at Mongu airport this afternoon.
He said government was implementing several programmes including those related to the governance system of the country.
The Vice President named the governance programmers as the National Constitution Conference (NCC) and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) which he said were aimed at involving people in the governance of the country
Meanwhile, Mr. Kunda has thanked the people of Western Province for voting for President Rupiah Banda in the 2008 Presidential by-election.[quote]
He said the massive vote was a clear testimony of the confidence the people in the Province have in the MMD and the leadership of President Banda.
Mr. Kunda also commended the people in Western Province for voting for several MMD members of parliament out of whom 15 are holding ministerial positions.
He said the MPs were playing an active role in contributing to the development agenda of the country.
The Vice President thanked the MMD leadership in the province for keeping the party united and ensuring that it remained strong and intact.
He, however, said there was need for the leadership to work even harder and explain the party policies and programmes to the electorate.
And speaking earlier, Western Province MMD chairman Simasiku Namakando appealed to the Vice President to send relief food the province to avert the hunger situation in some parts of the province.
Mr. Namakando said many people lost their crops in the floods that affected the province last rainy season.
And Mr. Nmakando has assured the Vice President that the Patriotic Front (PF)/United Party for National Development (UPND)pact was non-existent in the province.

Aba bufi bwakunya ba bwela nakabili twafwa twachula pafula!
Development in Western Province has been delayed due to failure by the GOVT. TO fufil promises of completing the KALABO -MONGU ROAD.In fact the pipo in western province were cheated in a broad daylight robbery when the govt. brought a fake contructor from KUWAIT who promised a miracle to the govt.that he can construct a SAND DUNE DRIDGE across the ZAMBEZI river connecting KALABO and MONGU.All we know is that the contractor ESCAPED THROUGH KAPIRIVE STRIP after pocketing K43 BILLION.please relief food is nit part of developmennt its part of deleoment..
Hands for the MMD kwa kwa kwa…. yes MMD is the only party which has fulfilled all promises it made to the people. Mongu Kalabo road is tired, fertilizer is now t K25 000, there is enough food in the province which is beeing exported to other provinces. There are more secondary schools being built and the sons and the daughters of western province now go to world-class schools. Hee , MMD is doing great things in Western province.
I just like the MMD campaign for the UPND-PF PACT in the government media as expressed in “… Mr. Nmakando has assured the Vice President that the Patriotic Front (PF)/United Party for National Development (UPND)pact was non-existent in the province“.
This is really good as the PACT does not need to worry about campaigning much since the MMD members do the campaigning for it in almost all areas the top government officials of the MMD go across the country. Keep this campaign for the PACT up MMD.
Have a good day all.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and the rest shall be added unto you.
Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.
These people need to retire on medical grounds, look at ba veep sure. Like an expired orange thats passed its sell by date! Lips and skin permnatly dry no matter how much vaseline u apply. Awe….ma ARV’S do more damage than good.
There is too much talk minus implementation. People do not EAT cheap talk, UPND/PF pact talk can not fulfill election promises, It can no be served on the table and taken as a meal.
Promising flood victims food without taking it there is tantamount to asking them to postpone there meals to a later date. Its unacceptable
Goodmorning
Words come easy again during election campaigns but reality looks sadly different. If only MMD was committed to development as much as they are to their political image.
