Mwense DC calls for improved ZNBC radio signal

Share

Mwense District Commissioner, Benjamin Chama, has complained over poor radio reception in the area.

Mr Chama says most people in Mwense area cannot access the ZNBC radio signal and are forced to listen to Democratic Republic of Congo’s
Kasenga Frequency Modulation (FM) transmission.

Mr Chama was speaking to ZANIS in Mwense yesterday.

He said at the moment people in the area only access the ZNBC
television signal which he said was not enough for local information dissemination.

Mr Chama said it is difficult to know what is happening in the country
because neither radio one nor two signals are accessed in the area.

He appealed to ZNBC to consider improving its radio signal
to enhance communication in the area.

  1. Imagine if we cant get Radio signal from Mwense, why is Shikas refusing the innovative private media to expand. ViVa MUVI TV. We are now getting quality and balanced news on the Copperbelt. Thanks to STRONG – MUVI partnership.

  2. Talk to Shikas, he is the character who is blocking progress in the nation. Surely, 40 yrs after independence, some areas have no access to information

  3. #1 and 2 That is the more reason MMD do not want private stations because these would out do them and enlighten people more of their rights.

  4. We are always hearing of govt buying radio transmitters from China but situation never improves. Why has shortwave broadcasting with Chinese equipment become a problem for ZNBC. The British transmitters that were in use between 1972 and 1996 had the whole country covered. Why go for Gong’a Chlnese equipment? Cheap is very expensive.

  5. This Govt is really mediocre, just imagine even along the line of rail znbc signal is below 40percent. Am in Choma cant remember the day i managed to get radio 1and 2 of znbc thanx to sky fm and muvi tv. So Shikapwasha do somethin

  6. Does our GRZ ever think of empowering its people, look at every resource in the country is in the hands of foreigners. GRZ is busy with farm blocks why not say lets empower our people, esp. retirees. Give say 60% allocation of this land to GRZ retirees, give them their monies when the settle, train them to manage these farms, come on people even eggs shud be produced by chinese. When is this Govt ever going to own up.
