  1. settle the bills the police camps are facing than buying riot gear, we are not that violent for you to put riot outfit as a priority. this is clearly the animal farm style where the pig was rearing the dogs to sever those which it deemed enemies. 5 billion and bakapokola they are not well looked after in those camps plus very little risk allowance, iwe mangani, wa ambodwala bati

  2. UNIP’s vigilante mentality is back. Instead of addressing the real problem at hand, they rush to silence the people – at any cost. What a shame!

  3. Are they preparing for war? This money could be used for Health, Education & other services beneficial to the public.

  4. YANGU!

Exactly, walasa we mwaume.( well spoken man!) But the MMD should go into the annals of history, in 1991, these methods of fighting back, don’t work. Why cant the MMD look into their current policies and change.

People who are supposed to be speaking now within the government have kept quite and until, they see that people are tired of these draconian methods, and change the way they run the state. When peoples lives are miserable, whatever riot gear u bring in they would rather die than succumb to your forced ways of leading them. Thats how the MMD gained power.

I am shocked that we can still repeat, history and not learn from it. Please with the democracy won in 1991, the people will not go backwards. Rather go back to the drawing tables and fight back if you can.

  5. WE NEED MEDICINES, GOOD ROADS, CLEAN WATER, BOOKS IN SCHOOLS ,ETC! NOT riot gear 4 what? Do we have NORMAL PEOPLE in our cabinet. Do they think? Are these wolves in cabinet blind to see our sufferings. Can somebody help us to govern the country. CHI mangani ,Yo minister of Health was pleading 2 donors for aid and you tell us that nonsense ****U!

  6. Hon Lameck Mangani of all the things he only talks of GRZ setting aside K5B for procurement of Riot Gear for Kapokolas. That sounds Gud news but is that the priority area for ZPS . That money could have been channel in other ares such as improving water supply and sanitation in some camps. electrificstion of houses, clearing of outstanding utiliy bills repair of broken down vehicles and procurement of comunication equipment. As far as Mangani is concerned policing involves provision of riot gear. Those men and women in uniform are fellow human beings and need certain incentives to be motivated. That rot gear will just increase high levels of some over excited officers. In 2006 riot control vehicles were bought and they just park idling instead of having bought ulity vehicles. Please Stop

  7. I think I am tired and fed up with these fools in Cabinet. Do these fools really for God’s sake THINK??????? How many violent riots do we have in Zambia every year?? How many people need medicines in Zambia every year????? f****ck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Mangani knows that 2011 will not be peacefull. No one will accept VJ’s tricks as a result the Police will be on duty 24hours. Bane let’s unite in praying for our Country. God help us.

  9. kwena icalo cino tacilecila pali animal farm, i trully believe that… was arguing within, ive just confirmed…can we have a saviour please youths lets vote in 2011, bwezani nabantu bakwe ba nasha

  10. Oooh Cowards! What a joke for the so called police service. If you look at your police camp surroundings, it’s a mess and a Minister announces he and the President obviously in this recession have managed to source K5 bn for riot kits for the opposition and the NGO’s, well with some diplomats it seems since they are in the equation of destabilising the country. Shame to you! If funds can be sourced so easily, then demand an increase in wages as well. But one thing which this government must know will never ever happen again in this country is the past Kaunda-UNIP regime which R-Banda was part of where vigilante type of ruling was done. Zimbabwe is on its knees now so was Zambia before 1991 all blaming imperialists or colonial attachment which is utter nonsense.

  11. These guys are shocking ! Police camps have been disconnected from the ZESCO grid for months and all they think is to buy short batons etc. Misplaced priorities. Was this requirement included in 2009 budget or has it come as an emergency to counter the Honking that we will do at 1700Hrs (Zambian Time ) ?

  12. First hearse now riot gear to see all those who oppose MMD make their final ride in those hearses. One runs out of words. If they think they will bully anyone with these tactics they have another thing coming. Even the most gentle of creatures, when backed up against the wall it will react in a violent way. You will get a shock MMD! I wish I could honk my car with Zambia!

  13. Ello lyanya nomba…lyati na paaaa. Zambia is preparing for war. The next thing will be to equip the army….they are treading the mugabe road. Remember thats how Mugabe started. Ordering blood asernals from china. Thanks be to our God that we had a no nosense SADIC leader Mwanawasa who urged all member countries not to allow the blood china ship to dock. Who is SADIC chairman today…can he also Issue a directive to stop this evil plot of these MMD-thieves??? GUYS LETS BE WARE OF THESE MMD-THIEVES. WE ARE NOW BACK TO UNIP VIKALANTES!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Zambia needs a real revolution. Lets die for our country to make it right.Look at Cuba,Angola etc….fear will never help us bane. Honestly even RB now wants to take us 20 years back! Noways…bring that equipment but remember that you will never break nor stop the WILL of the people. It will only take on Man / Woman in Zambia to show us the way.Only one person and one day for one Zambia one nation. Wait!

  15. People are not aware that is this is inline with what is going on over the world – the militarization of the police force. Times of the local bobbie helping the old cross the streets are over. Now it is intimidation and violence. This is what govts do when they feel the rising anger of people. People on this forum are busy looking for a saviour – well no saviour is coming for you matey. Noone will do for you that you are unable to do for yourself. Your silence is consent enough to the people in power that you love to vilify. If you want to make a change – get off the system – do not participate; do not comply. Set up an alternative community with like-minded people. You give this govt/cabal legitimacy by participating. Unless you believe the indoctrination called democracy – WAKE UP!

  16. My word of advice to the minister, improve the plight of policemen and women. Your mind is dirty if you are thinking of brutalising innocent Zambians. Time will catch up with you.
