Bishop speaks against abuse of maids

Share

A clergyman in Kafue has appealed to employers not to abuse maids by subjecting them to do works which could be carried out by their wives.

Apostolic Faith Mission in Zambia Bishop, Kingswell Sichela, said it is immoral for employers to subject maids to do dirty works such as washing underpants, taking food for their bosses to their bedroom and forcing them to have sex with them.

Bishop Sichela noted that it was unfortunate that such activities were happening in homes where some women live certain works to their maids, adding that maids are there to supplement works in a home.

The bishop was speaking during the graduation ceremony for 70 maids who graduated in house-keeping and catering orgainised by the Meclas Training Centre.

He commended Faith Fruitful International Ministries for coming up with a course to empower maids so that they know their rights and do their jobs professionally.

And Speaking at the same function, Gods Faithful Ministries International Director, Pastor Media Mweemba, said her ministry has decided to empower women with skills so that they could stand on their own and stop depending on men for everything.

Pastor Mweemba noted that most of the graduands are already employed and working in good institutions, and urged them to put the knowledge they acquired to good use.

  1. Remember that there will be difficult times in the last days. People will be selfish, greedy, boastful, and conceited; they will be insulting, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and irreligious; they will be unkind, merciless, slanderers, violent, and fierce; they will hate the good; they will be treacherous, reckless, and swollen with pride; they will love pleasure rather than God; they will hold to the outward form of our religion, but reject its real power. Keep away from such people. Some of them go into people’s houses and gain control over weak women who are burdened by the guilt of their sins and driven by all kinds of desires, women who are always trying to learn but who can never come to know the truth.

  2. Reminds me of that pastor and his wife who killed a maid. Buy them washing machines Bishop! Makes life easier! lol!

  3. #4Kelvin, Sichela has something to say to people like you who think he has nothing to say. You sound as if you are one of those who abuse maids in thier homes. Why are you quilty of what he is saying?

  4. Its actually true what the Bishop has said, unless you people are living in a vacuum, some of these wives all they care about its their nails, certainly a maid can not start washing underpants. Some prominent former President actually ended up marrying his maid

  5. Bishop that is a good warning to the married women. All those who are commenting to the contrary are ther ones who are abusing maids. wives also learn to choose maids who are less beautiful than you and they should be older. although this is not the solution but it reduces the chances of your rand husbands pouncing on the maid. buy them maid attire dont allow them to put on tight or mini shirts or hipstar that can entice your husband or your sons. Dont allow them to do sensitive jobs or they will do it better than you and you husband might want to **** her.

  6. some wives are just too lazy that would leave every chores to be done by the maids, ngababafwa thats when they errupt like vocanos. wives get a leaf from this pastor otherwise bakalamilia icakulya cakwisamba, “kamulya weka”

  7. We should not promote the use of maids. It is sad that there are even colleges run by men of God which train people to be maids or servants of others.

  8. It is true that some people have let everything to be done by their maids e.g some people let their maids clean their children’s bedrooms even though those children are grown ups. I once heard of some guy who married a girl from a well to do family who could not cook coz where she came from everything was being done by the maid. So ba finondo let your kids do some of the chores so that they can learn. If you don’t you will be blamed for not having taught your kids anything.

  9. Come on guys pants (briefs) they are not even supposed to be washed by the wife the pants that belong to the man the man himself should wash them. Why give someone else. I know even old men in Zambia who wash those for themsleves dont tell me its a Zambian culture in case someone wants to make excuses. Its mere laziness..Lazy chaps

  10. maids are also problematic. They always want to behave like the mistress especially when they undertake the ‘duties’ of the mistress lol.

  11. This maid wanted a salary increase from her boss. She told the wife to tell her husband for an increase.
Wife> why do you want a salary increase? Maid; becauese i cook nicely,, sweeps the house well and washes the clothes perfectly well , and the wife asked” who said all this to you” maid answered ba boss told me so( meaning the husband) the wife kept quiet and just nodded the head, then the maid said, oh by the way he even said I was a good lover! the wife got angry and asked if the husband said that to the maid! , The maid answered “” the GARDENER TOLD ME SO .watch out both men and women ni tupondo.
