Nchelenge District Commissioner, Orswell Musanda, has saluted Zambia’s past Presidents for their contribution towards the attainment of political independence and socio-economic freedom.
Mr Musanda observed that the first Republican President, Dr Kenneth Kaunda and other gallant men and women fought tirelessly to liberate Zambia from the bondage of her colonial masters.
The DC noted that Dr Kaunda scored numerous successes during his reign, notably in the area of infrastructure development, especially in the field of education.
On second Republican President Dr Frederick Chiluba, Mr Musanda said he should be credited for liberalizing Zambia’s economy and re-introducing Multi-party politics which brought about the freedom of expression.
He said said the third Republican President, Dr Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, left behind an indelible mark with his stance on the application of the rule of law and zero tolerance on corruption.
