  1. Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!! Boys well done, we need to build on this and get better, Ba Zambia. You guys keep putting us at our wits ends and giving us BP. Lets see some return on all the emotional investment.

  2. This is the right time to dismiss this coach or manager whatever you call him. He has failed to bring anything new to Zambian soccer and the faster we parted away with him the better. He failed to qualify the team to the world cup and has started quarrelling with players. Let him go back to France and if other African countries are interested with him let him join them. He is just milking the country of money for very shoddy work he is doing. We should also start questioning kalusha Bwalya’s overall running of soccer affairs. it seems his contributions to Zambian soccer ended when he stopped playing, what he is doing now is just making money for himself not taking the country forward.

  3. After being a football powerhouse in Africa for 35 years,Zambia has been reduced to a team that fights for scraps and left overs.
However for some people ,this is what they define as success. We have lost our direction and sense of pride.
Anyway congratulations for qualifying to the AFCON tournament.Let’s hope the team reaches the finals this time around.
Otherwise it would have been better for minnows like Rwanda to qualify instead of Zambia. They are the ones who should be struggling to make it to the knock out stages of the AFCON tournament and not veteran names like Zambia.

  4. Well done ba zed, though the results are not impressive…at this rate we are goin where by we are having a drought of goals,is really worrying..tournaments are not won by draws,we need goals in Angola,so that muchitenge mulya nga ecko chaba ku Angola, tukasunkanye umushila.

  5. Yaba…our boys are down but still not under yet – let’s hope this is the beginning of a great comeback. Anyways, congrats!

  6. what a disgrace….scouting through garbage when others have already qualified clear and we are here strugling
shameless team. only the team taht perished in gabon new soccer – after that no other team, unless 5 years from now, but there is nothing being done to improve the game in the country.
they eat too much kapenta and okra – they cnanot score
STOP FEEDING ON UMULEMBWE AND KAPENTA, U WILL HAVE ENERGY TO SCROE. EAT WELL. LOOK AT WHAT WEST AFRICANS EAT – REAL FOOD,.

  7. With such results watching africa in angola will be sucidal. i will be so jeid with chamba to avoid seeing zambias early elimination in angola.

  8. #13 I’ve lived with West Africans before and their food is no much different from ours – infact a lot of okra, beans, dried vegetables and soup. Kapenta is not quite a runner on their diet but they lavish fish, offals (ichifu) and fufu (nshima) just as much as we do. Not to mention nutritious fruits like bananas, mangoes etc.
The only West African dishes I can think of that we Zambians don’t have regularly on our table are yams & kola nuts – but I doubt if that’s the secret to African soccer greatness. I think it’s just a question of good training & discipline coupled with the utmost desire to win.

  9. Gentlemen, its time to convince ourselves that things are not okey foootball wise at home..Despite that, we still have a heart for mother Zambia and want more of positive than what we have experienced lately..Like # 9 clearly and undisputably said, we have been reduced to scrounges and leftovers pickers..This aint good..The problem is management of footbal affairs where players have to bribe their way into the national team..Buying two crates of castle beers for place in the squad..Plese how can we develop..?? poverty is kiling us!!!!

  10. ?LT bloggers should concentrate on politics.discuss football on fb (the chipolopolo group) or on zamfoot.stop wasting political space.

  11. Lift up the CAF cup other wise you will be beaten now in the same way Mobutu used to beat the Zairean s!! any way , well done bangwele.

  12. Two goals in six matches does not inspire any confidence at all. My word to the boys is that they should not unpack their katundus when they go to Angola as they will be back sooner than they’ll go there. Can you imagine that we went through the qualifiers without any of our strikers being on the score sheet! only midfielders i.e. Kalaba and Kasonde scored.

  13. Is Zambia really that limited with the caliber of players that can feature in the National team? Or is it that the coach and FAZ just don’t want to cast the net wide enough?!

Are you really telling me that their are no players in the entire premier, first and second divisions in Zambia who can be moulded into formidable goal scoring machines? Come on now Kalu, get away from the usual suspects and attend some regional and Provincial games, you will be surprised the kind of players featuring in these leagues. This bias towards Copperbelt, Central and Lusaka is not working!!

For sure the current crop of players featuring in our National Team have failed to inspire confidence. With West African powerhouses in Angola; it will be a miracle if we even go past the first round!!!

  14. I THINK RENARD WILL GET IT RIGHT BEFORE THE AFCON IF CHINTU KAMPAMBA CAN MAINTAIN HIS FITNESS THEN I SEE NO REASON WHY OUR DEFENSE WILL STRUGGLE. NOW THAT WE HAVE OUR DEFENSE SORTED OUT I THINK!!!!!! WE SHOULD GO FOR A HUNT TO FIND MORE ATTACK MINDED MIDFIELDERS AND STRIKERS TOO. THE KOREA FRIENDLY AND THE CECAFA SHOULD HELP US SETTLE THOSE ISSUES. COZ WHAT WE NEED IS GOALS!! AND NOW IS ALSO THE TIME TO TASTE Thomas Nyirenda ON THE RIGHT BACK POSITION AGAINST TOUGHER OPPOSITION BECAUSE MBOLA WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR THE FIRST GAME AT THE AFCON I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST BRINGING IN THE LIKES OF WILLIAM CHINYAMA SO THAT THEY CAN REDEEM THEMSELVES IN CASE THE ROOKIE THOMAS NYIRENDA FAILS TO SHINE. I DON’T KNOW IF IT IS STILL POSSIBLE AND ZAMBIA SHOULD ARRANGE SOME INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES AFTER…

  15. #9 soccer powerhouse for 35 years. refresh my mind: how many continental cuos have we won during this time?
rwanda minnows? same can be said about zambia

  16. ok, after a good night’s sleep, im thinking alot clearer. He’s the plan. Lets sack the coach, Take all the cash we are supposed to use for Rupiah’s state visits and use that to get a proper football coach with genuine references. We can then use the money that is supposed to have been used to pay task force lawyers to pay and develop players and training facilities. Get my drift??? Zambia is NOT poor. There is money, its just being misused. If people wanted to allocate money towards improving our sports the could. We just lack forward planning- In everything!!!! Our politicians, administrators, coaches etc. cant see the bigger picture, only whats in it for them. And we THE PEOPLE are the biggest losers, we criticize from the safety of our PCs and DO NOTHING. So we can say we told you…

  17. Iam one of those who strongly supported the appointment of Renard. However, I think he has now reached his sellby date. He has inspired discipline in the team and we now need a more adventurous coach to take the reigns from here. Like Godfrey Chitalu did when he took over as coach. The team is failing to score despite having good strikers and very good midfielders. at the Nations Cup we will need to score because you cant reach the finals if you aren’t scoring! We now need a coach in the mould of Ruud Gullit, Arsene Wenger or Frank Rijkaard. These are coaches who aren’t scared of attacking football.

  18. I must say I am behind thaimakai’s suggestion #29. Politicians never make us happy. Footballers do so lets switch our resources even if we starve the politicians
