Durban to Host Zambia-Nigeria Friendly on Wednesday

Share

The Super Eagles Nigeria and Zambia’s friendly match will be played tomorrow in Durban.

Faz communications manager Erick Mwanza said the match will be played at ABSA Stadium and will kick off at 16:00.

However, the match is not open to the public and will be played behind closed doors.

Both sides are using the match as part of their 2010 Africa Cup preparations ahead of the tournament that kicks off on Sunday in Angola.

Meanwhile, Zambia will face South Korea in Johannesburg this Saturday in their third and final warm-up match before heading to Angola on Sunday.

Zambia beat Mozambique 1-0 in their first friendly match in Johannesburg where they are camped on December 28 courtesy of a Collins Mbesuma goal.

  1. Twatotela baKalusha, ala iyi training yapangako amano, not the London fiasco. Anso tulelolela ka apology olo you can make up by Zambia beating Cameroon, Tunisia, Gabon, Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast muma finals

  2. Just as well its under closed doors , the nigerian team at the moment lacks the desire to play with commitment bcoz most of these players think they are above the africa cup .they are not popular amongst the nigerian supporters and are called all sorts of names from european bench warmers to lacking match fittness and that a bunch of 5 players including kanu ( i don’t know that but he is not so much a regular at portsmouth nowadays ) cannot even make 10hrs of playing football this season .With that in mind , the koreans will certainly provide a better final test .Don’t 4get nigeria only made the world cup after tunisia threw away their chance so if anything ,tunisia will be tougher to play next week .So FAZ ! small teams always provide better friendlies bcoz they are more committed…

  3. @Keyser: so you think Nigeria took Team C all the way to South Africa? believe me.. everyone is there. Obi & co.

anyway.. i think it’s a great move to “play” Nigeria before the tournament. Even if it may not technically qualify as a friendly, it will be great for both teams to asses their squads. The real test before AFCON will be against S. Korea. I am interested to see HR’s line up.

Who do you guys think should start? The way I see it, up front should be J. Mulenga &… (insert a name)

  4. Wonderful work! This is the type of information that should be shared across the internet. Shame on Google for no longer positioning this post higher! Come on over and seek advice from my site . Thank you =)
