Mazabuka farm worker killed by an angry Cow

A farm worker in Mazabuka has allegedly been killed by an angry cow as he was dipping animals at a named white commercial farm.

Police sources in Mazabuka who confirmed the development to ZANIS in Mazabuka today, said the cow, a Brahman, allegedly descended on the deceased who was alone dipping the animals between 14:00hrs and 16:00 hrs.

Police sources further said the body of the deceased which had severe body injuries was only recovered the following day by fellow farm workers who conducted a search for the man.

According to Police, Brahman cows become violent when they are being driven to a dipping facility and can descend on anybody seen on sight.

The body of the deceased is lying in Mazabuka hospital awaiting a postmortem.

  1. Why would he be doing such a dangerous job alone? This is when I respect American safety procedures especially in cases like that. Rest in Peace Tonga Bull….

  2. RIP. Accidents can happen to anybody, anywhere and anytime. It is just divine protection that we are all alive and safe…just look at the thousands who perished when the earth quaked in Haiti. I looked at the terrible pictures and thought to myself: “…it could have happened right here!”

  3. If this man was alone, how did they know that he was killed by angry cow? What type of injuries did he sustain? Where did they find him? Where was he recovered from? Which farm is that where only one worker will be dipping the cattle? This story is fake, this worker could have been killed and dumped where ever the body was found. MHSRIP

  4. My prayers for the family and friends. Nine Chale it is by divine protection we are alive indeed.Kashmani you are on point, an investigation has to be initiated foul play might be at hand. Later bloggers.

  5. Nine Chale, how would you compare an earth quake to death by a cow? As much as we understand accidents can happen to anybody, anywhere and anytime there are some that can be prevented (of course not an eathquake). This “accident” could have been avoided if our deceased brother was not working alone with dangerous animals. Some of these things its just common sense …yaba …

  6. Ba LT, why use the term ‘white commercial farm?’ It doesn’t matter what race the owner is. C’mon this is 2010.

  7. ## 9 … Indeed, why? Also, I don’t have a good grasp of this language; Why do I always see “a named…” ? Why don’t they just say the name. Or are there people that are not named?

  8. He probably thought the cow was another ngombe Ilede he could retrieve mabisi from. It’s 2010 and these cows aren’t playing no more

  9. #10 when investigations are taking place, normally names are witheld. Its normal not only in zed but naku mangalande mwata

  10. This is not true, these police we have at home? How can one person dip cattle? Do you police personnel come from this planet? I come from mazabuka and has always lived on a farm since birth, there is no way in which a person can dip cattle alone, especally that this is a commercial farm. Investigate this matter in a serious way. Shortly you will learn that this poor man was either killed by the owner of the farm or fellow workers. The biggest problem we have in zambia is that we unequal rights to life. The poor you are the less rights you have to live. If it was some big fish somewhere such statements were not going to be made by these cops. Why conclude so early about behaviour of bhraman breed of cattle? Why not mentioning the name of the farm and the killed man? Investigate men???

  11. # 13 (MN) I totally agree. You make lots of sense in your urgument. Props bro …
