Chibombamilimo Body Arrives

Share

The body of the late Mpulungu MMD Member of Parliament (MP) Lameck Chibombamilimo arrived yesterday at Lusaka International Airport aboard an Ethiopian Airways at 14:55 hours.

Mr Chibombamilimo, who is also former Energy Deputy Minister, died in the early hours of Tuesday owing to a kidney failure.
The late Chibombamilimo was evacuated recently by government to India at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi for specialist treatment where he died.

The body of the late Mpulungu MMD MP was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Mpande, Minister of Health Kapembwa Simbao and Lusaka Province Minister Charles Shawa.

Others who were at hand to receive the body are Tourism Minister Catherine Namugala, MMD National Chairman Michael Mabenga, Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President Guston Sichilima, Patriotic Front President (PF)Micheal Sata and other MMD and leaders from opposition political parties.

And in receiving the body, MMD Lusaka Central Constituency Chairperson, Chilekwa Munkonge said the party will try to avoid differences with the opposition PF as this was a time of mourning.

Mr Munkonge noted that funerals were supposed to bring people together regardless of their political affiliation hence the need for everyone to behave as a mourner and not cadre.

He hoped that the bad behavior of the PF cadres exhibited at the airport would not be extended to the funeral house or to Northern Province if the body would be transported and buried there.

And Mandevu PF Member of Parliament Jean Kapata said her party is saddened by the death of Mr Chibombamilimo.
Ms Kapata said the death of the late MP was not only a great loss to MMD but also to the country as a whole
She noted that the PF would have loved to see the late Chibombamilimo finish his term of office because he was hard working person.
She has since appealed to the family and mourners to mourn peacefully and encouraged the widow to remain strong during this trying moment

  1. MHSRIP. So what will R.B do now, since he angrily said when he fired the late that he would follow him wherever he would go. Let R.B now follow.

  2. RIP YOU PASSED THROUGH A LOT OF PAIN AND SUFFERING. THE EVIL WILL WANT TO MAKE ISSUES OUT OF YOUR PASSING BUT I HOPE YOUR FAMILY WILL SEE THEIR INTENTIONS AND CHASE THEM AWAY LIKE MAUREEN DID AND SNUB THEM LIKE CJ DID. WE KNOW THEM TROUBLEMAKERS

  3. The MMD fired him from the Party, meaning they did not want him (chibombamilimo). Now After he dies, they are busy claiming him as their own. Shear LUNACY. I’m suprized Shikapwasha is behaving like a cadre, telling us not to politise lamecks death when the man was a Politician. He was Politically Fired and Hounded out of the Party save for an injuction.

  4. The MMD should not pretend that they have lost a valuable member because he was fired in front of cadres and expelled from the party unfairly. Shame on them. RIP Hon. Chibombamilimo as God will properly judge the unjust.

  5. WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE LATE HONOURABLE CHIBOMBAMILIMO
The politics being currently practiced in the country of using people for personal gain would eat up every fibre of morality leaving none for future generations.
“I earnestly appeal to those engaged in such a dangerous trade to have mercy upon the innocent Zambian citizens who stand to suffer should the head of state make a decision that is based on faulty information,”
“But should they continue on this path intent on gaining their political fortunes through fraudulent means, I call upon church leaders to commit the nation to prayer so that the God that has kept this country in peace all these years may come through for us at this hour of great need.”

  6. The government (ruling MMD) is performing its duties, by sending Hon. Chibombamilimo for treatment at medical facilities in India, transporting the body back to his homeland, receiving the body by senior MMD and government officials with honour, and arranging for burial at the family’s chosen place of rest for their beloved one. This is a mark of decency in mourning no matter what differences you had with the departed. Can you imagine what other parties would do in similar circumstances? Just see the behaviour of PF cadres at the airport, and remember the speech given by PF Vice President Guy Scott at the funeral of late Mark Mushili, the one that annoyed the widow?
Of course I am impressed with the words of Hon. Jean Kapata, I hope she will not be termed “rebel MP” by her party.

  7. Medical tourists seeking treatment in Asia are bringing home a dangerous type of bacterial infection that’s resistant to nearly all known antibiotics, according to a new report in the journal the Lancet.

Doctors identified 29 patients in the United Kingdom with the new infections. Most had traveled to India, Pakistan or Bangladesh for medical procedures, including elective cosmetic surgery. Dozens of patients from Asia also got the infections, according to the researchers, from Cardiff University.
