Scotts wrong, insists UPND

FLASHBACK: President Banda talks to PF leader Michael Sata at Good Friday celebrations at Saint Ignatius church

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Michael Sata has told the United Party for National Development (UPND) to stop being jittery over observations his vice president, Guy Scott made over the party’s poor showing in last week’s Luena parliamentary by election.

Mr Sata has defended Dr Scott’s analysis of the election in which the UPND garnered a paltry 20 percent of the votes as his own personal opinion and not of the PF as a party.

But in a sharp response, UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma has insisted that in fact whether or not Dr Scott wrote the statement in his individual capacity, it was wrong to celebrate the party’s loss in Luena because it did not reflect the position of the PF/UPND pact.

Mr Kakoma said Dr Scott did not follow the PF-UPND pact’s communication channels if he had anything to tell the nation but decided to rush to the press.

“So on that score, Dr Scott was definitely wrong. He shouldn’t have used the press but should have used the right channel to air his views through the pact working group or if not satisfied, the national governing council of the pact,” he said.

Dr Scott wrote in his weekly column in the Post newspaper that “UPND must be ruing the day it ‘won’ the argument about who should contest.”

[pullquote]“So, it was not correct for Dr Scott to pour scorn on UPND or write in such a mocking manner. He did not respect the pact’s spirit even if he was writing as an individual. He is PF vice-president who should have known what he was writing about,” he said.[/pullquote]

The UPND fielded Mr Muyunda Ililonga in the Luena by-election.

Mr Kakoma said there was no need for Dr Scott or other PF members to celebrate Mr Ililonga’s loss especially that he was jointly fielded by the UPND/PF pact.

He said UPND did not rejoice when the PF candidate in the Milanzi parliamentary by-election lost as the membership knew that the contestant was jointly fielded.

“So, it was not correct for Dr Scott to pour scorn on UPND or write in such a mocking manner. He did not respect the pact’s spirit even if he was writing as an individual. He is PF vice-president who should have known what he was writing about,” he said.

But Mr Sata said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that the UPND should not be jittery over Dr Scott’s remarks in his column because what he wrote reflected his individual opinion as a political and economic consultant and not as PF vice-president.

“This is not the first time Dr Scott has written such articles. He has been writing as an individual and has never written as PF vice-president. What he writes are his own opinion. So, there is no need for our friends (UPND) to be jittery,” Mr Sata said.

[pullquote]“This is not the first time Dr Scott has written such articles. He has been writing as an individual and has never written as PF vice-president. What he writes are his own opinion. So, there is no need for our friends (UPND) to be jittery,” Mr Sata said.[/pullquote]

And when contacted, UPND president Hakainde Hichilema declined to comment on Dr Scott’s remarks.

When reminded that his pact co-leader Mr Sata had already commented on the matter, Mr Hichilema said: “I don’t discuss those issues in the press. For those who have commented, that is their way of doing things. People are different and I am not like that,” Mr Hichilema said.

Meanwhile, Chief Mwanachingwala of the Tonga people in Mazabuka has accused Mr Hichilema of having caused all the differences currently brewing in the pact.

The traditional ruler said he told the nation the first time the pact was formed that it was not going to work but that people doubted him.

Chief Mwanachingwala said Mr Sata is his good friend and he knows what is happening in the PF-UPND pact.
He said Mr Hichilema is the one to blame over the pact problems and not Mr Sata because the former is the one who joined the latter.

Chief Mwanachingwala said he advised Mr Hichilema to form a pact with the MMD but he rejected the advice.

“I told Mr Hichilema to make a pact with President Banda and the MMD because that is the only way he can have a chance to probably come and stand for the presidency in 2016. He came here and I slaughtered a buffalo for him but he only ate one piece. I was very annoyed,” he said.

In another development, the United Liberal Party (ULP) is disappointed by Mr Ililonga’s claims that ULP allegedly distributed tribal literature during campaigns.

[pullquote]“I told Mr Hichilema to make a pact with President Banda and the MMD because that is the only way he can have a chance to probably come and stand for the presidency in 2016. He came here and I slaughtered a buffalo for him but he only ate one piece. I was very annoyed,” he said.[/pullquote]

ULP national chairperson for women Charity Katilungu said in a statement yesterday that the literature her party distributed in Luena was not tribal but was based on facts aimed at selling its candidate Sikatala Musole to the electorate.

“We wish to appeal to Mr Ililonga not to blame the ULP for his loss in the Luena by-election and to stop crying over spilt milk. His loss is due to his long absence from Luena constituency and UPND’s countrywide loss of political fortunes,” she said.

Ms Katilungu said Mr Ililonga should accept the fact that UPND has lost popularity in Western Province and other parts of Zambia since Mr Hichilema allegedly uttered words that only a Tonga could lead UPND at the 2006 party convention.

She said Dr Scott properly analysed UPND’s fortunes in his column and urged Mr Ililonga to study the analysis before he can blame any one.

  1. And the circus without foreseable dividends continues on and on. For the sake of legitimizing democracy, it must carry a voice even here.

  2. ”George Kunda has never slept in UTH University Teaching Hospital even for his lips.” Manje mwona ba Sata banu . What a joker

  3. # 2
Plse understand the context. What Sata was merely saying is that even 4 minor ailments this clueless bunch doesnt even go 2 UTH!!!!!!

  4. And so, like many concerned members of our community around the Globe, I have been disappointed, indeed severely burdened personally, at the trivia pursuit that often characterize much of Zambia’s opposition party discourse. Serious thinking on important matters has become rare practice in the opposition space. This is without hiding that i tried to take a sabbatical from the haranguing and personal attacks that have become a notorious feature of many of the opposition space, cadres and forums, especially the Internet blog threads distant from economic and developmental topics. This country is now as good as a democracy without a credible opposition even when ruling mass party MMD dearly needs opposition.

  5. What more does UPND want to hear that they don’t matter in this PACT. Listen to what the POST said. In one of their editorials. PF certainly doesn’t respect UPND. This to me is certainly the last nail in the coffin. You can’t separate Guy scott from his PF position. The fact that Sata can use the word jittery in buttressing his deputy’s position is enough to tell PF’s position. UPND is better off on its own than getting insulted like this. It takes maturity for all of us to make lasting decissions

  6. Self destructive PACT. Sata now thinks he is so popular that he can win the elections on his own. What a sad situation because MMD will now win once the PACT disintergrate, what a greed leader Sata is. SHAME FOR ZAMBIA

  7. John Malambo alias “Chief” Mwanachingwala is a Joker, look at the Lozi chief, he does not make useless Political comment, because he has a rich pool of advisers. Now this John Malambo who are his advisors Kanshi? Tonga’s take charge of this man. As for HH in a PACT with MMD, Malambo sure, can u think MMD in 2016 can let go of presidency for HH??? Maloza, Malambo must have his head checked. Malambo claims he slaughtered a buffalo, a beast for HH who only ate a piece. Well ZAWA should arrest him. Did he have a permit? HH did not feast on the beast after knowing it was poached.

  8. Ruling MMD is present everywhere in and outside the country. Actually the ruling party would defeat PF and UPND as titular parties in next year’s elections whether they contest as a pact or single entities.

  9. Bo Ililonga muno banga kwateng serious! Honestly how can you blame your loss on so called ULP tribalism? ULP got a paltry 249 votes so if there was anyone one who was affected by the ‘tribal campaign’ it surely was ULP. From the results one can conclude that your alleged ‘tribal campaign’ really backfired on ULP. Surely UPND lost because there was a very good candidate in Bo Chalesi. Bo Illilonga I would advise you to go back to your little NGO rather than waste our precious time.

  10. Isn’t UPND tired of being insulted and taken for a ride like this (more especially in the press) by PF=Mr. Sata.

I guess Senior Citizen was right when he compared the relationship in the UPND-PF pact as that of a Horse and a Rider.

  11. Its really sad to see a young and groundless political pact being further denigrated or vandalized by its own principals who signed the MOU between the two of them in secrecy without a role of members. Instead of providing leadership, in nurturing it, they have turned into lethal vandals.

  12. comedy at its highest order continues is donkey and rider pact. you are just destroying and weakening yourselves further much to the delight of MMD. the time you realise it will be too late and this is what mmembe tries to tell sata ati wachipuba isuka mutwe

  13. Yesterday I told you not to trust Bembas these people are degerouse forget about these chaps ,they think that they are too clever than any zambian PLEESES PLEASE HH get out of the ROTEN PACT talk to ADD you will sham these BEMBAS TRIBAL PARTY CALLED PF which is only found in CB & Parts of Lusaka , Luapula & Northern

  14. I guess its a democracy that this debate has to continue. However, i concur with Sata when he says”UPND should not be jittery over Dr Scott’s remarks in his column because what he wrote reflected his individual opinion as a political and economic consultant and not as PF vice-president”. This was a very good answer by Sata. And this is the truth.
On the other hand, i just wish that if this Pact is going to crumble one day, let it be now and not at the eleventh hour!!!

  15. Quote:’Ms Katilungu said Mr Ililonga should accept the fact that UPND has lost popularity in Western Province and other parts of Zambia since Mr Hichilema allegedly uttered words that only a Tonga could lead UPND at the 2006 party convention.’ Charity, can you tell us when HH said those words? Why should you lie just to satisfy your bootlickers MMD? It’s been 5yrs since Sikota lost to HH and you are still mourning about. You are the people who are perpertuating the wrong impression that lozis never forgive. Please move on, you need to disband your irrelevant party. This pull him down jealous syndrom won’t help you. You know very well, and so do your handlers(MMD) that the political fortunes of UPND across the country are raising that is why Sata and Scott are jittery and panicking.

  16. Ati Viva Pact!! is this the viva the Pact supporters were celebrating. The pact died the day it was formed and now the hot issue is how HH want to communicate to the masses without affecting his political life. Its tricky, cos the time he will now the departure from the Pact,Maj. Chizhyuka and Chief Mwanachingwala will be prove right and on his neck for not getting their advice.Worse still, remaining in the Pact doesnt look like a bright option fro HH.The decision of “Marrying “Sata is haunting HH big time.Where were the big brains like Hachipuka,Mwiimbu etc when the young one was making such naive decisons?

  17. # 3 if somebody made reference to your or worse still your father’s infermity like to the Red Lips, would you take it kindly? lets be honest with our selves guys. This man has bad language and he doesnt care to who it is targeted at. All he does is say it without thinking. From you tone you sound to be his follower but surely lets be fare. In as much as Mr. Kunda is a public figure, his privacy and mostly his person must not violated like this. Imagine those opposed to Mr. sata start calling him Mr. UGLY, because its a fact he is ugly. Would you like it, would willie nsanda and GBM like it, worse still imagine what language would cvome from him self. Lets be real. I shudder to see him as president with that language.

  18. As for Sata, in this one statement you have managed to decampaign yourself and kill the Pact, and for that matter, chances of ever becoming president of Zambia. The fact that you are defending your vice president even when you know he is wrong is an indication of the type of leader you are. Why should you even bother to criticize RB for not dismissing erring ministers when you are diffending wrongs before you have even stepped a foot at state house? Claiming that Scott said his personal view not not PF is indirectly telling us that you agree with his views but don’t want to be associated with it for political reasons. This is proof beyond doubt that you are insincere. We now know who is a true gentleman between you and HH. The saying that wisdom comes with age doesn’t apply to you

  19. Honestly why the hell is HH so reluctant about this? It’s crystal clear that Sata is just using him to get to plot 1. Remember what happened to the founding fathers of MMD back in 1991, most of them where against Kafupi being candidate for the MMD and for that they never saw even a single appointment in Kafupi’s government………… Sata will definitely do the same to HH, if he (HH) doesn’t play his cards right. After all, Sata’s cabinet is already made and their is no room for none PF cadres. Hard luck mwaiche HH

  20. we shall ask the UPND to pull out from the pact and see who will die of depresiion..sata thinks he’s more popular..he needs HH by his side if he wants to win..when all UPND sympathisers vote for mmd ..who will lose..?mwanachinngwala is a patient ..psycho..never mind him..scott is a boer and we know how they behave!!

  21. # 23 there is no pulling out… put out from what? the pact has never existed and therefore insiunation or contemplating to pull out is just a figment in the minds of these Kaponyas like you. tell sata that he has lost luapula and copperbelt and the landlisdes he got in 2008 has evaporated come 2011. likewise HH is not going to get his landslide in the south. Milupi is a joker and can never win presidential elections anywhere on earth including places such as Mars. what u people should know is that by unnecessarily haranguing RB day in day out you are actually repositioning him to scoup 2011 this time around with over 50%.

  22. Ahhh these no two ways about it Sata. Scott was wrong. How can you celebrate your pact partner’s losing to an enemy. If problems like this are starting before they are even in office what more do we expect when they are in office. Am very skeptical!!!!

  23. Mzungu anikonde! Scott is right, UPND is rubbish but PF will continue being in a pact with them, something of what what you would call a self-mutilating move.

  24. It is a shame that Dr. Scott could write such about his Team Member, claiming it to be a personal opinion from such a high ranking man cannot save PF, if I were SATA I would call a spade a spade, the old Scott is wrong and worsening the drift in the PACT. The MMD must be rejoicing that the PACT is not working and SATA/HH are dancing to their tune, they should both know that each cannot win the Presidency without the other, MMD will carry the day again and everybody will be frustrated for next five years again and others may even leave mother Zambia to the grave. Greed is at play in the PACT.

  25. I told Mr Hichilema to make a pact with President Banda and the MMD because that is the only way he can have a chance to probably come and stand for the presidency in 2016. He came here and I slaughtered a buffalo for him but he only ate one piece. I was very annoyed,” he said.

THE CHIEF EXPECTED HH TOM ATLEAST EAT A QUATER OF THE BAFFOLA BUT ONLY ATE A SMALL PIECE. HA HA HA HAA…………….AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. HH should by now know that He is not worth being called a politian. he has no foresight. When someone is hosting you even if you don t like what is being offered you have to be diplomatic. how can a Chief Slaughter a Baffalo then you just pick a Piece hahaha!!! This HH is bad mannered, and he must call himself Headman in Monze??? Ala!!!! Atase!!!!!! I can t do that to my Chief never.

  27. #29 they don’t call them Tonga Bulls for nothing. These guys can finish off a whole buffalo in one sitting. It has made me laugh too. Can the Can the Tonga’s unload this mystery behind this Tonga logic. It seems HH went against proverbial wisdom in Tonga land. Any Tongas on this blog, please, someone explain the tradition behind the chief expecting HH o eat half the Buffalo. Am concerned that at this rate when these guys make it to state house we might not have animals left in Zambia.

  28. # 29 HH may be a sata-nist thats why he doesnt smile. therefore expecting him to chew two pieces of the carcas is too much a demand from a person who is permanently flawning his face. as a young man HH should emulate OBAMA who captures his audience by offering a smile.

  29. Now about the Pact, UPND is not ashamed that they are forcing themselves in this arrangement. Pure political misscalculation!!!!! HH is young let him give Southern Province a chance by reorganising his way of doing politics. Elders should sit him down, I know that he has been banking on Sata s poor health, but Sata even if the worst was to happen God forbid, He will not be replaced by HH. So HH lovers woke up!!!!!!!

  30. There is no PACT. come 2011, each guy goes his way. matter of time one of them will call press conference and call it quits and the other to take political capital of the other quitting first in the eye of sympathiser. The machinery on the ground shows that both the PF and UPND are busy on their own getting ready to go it on their way. My advise to HH is to pull the plug as soon as possible and not state any reasons and go for flat out mobilisations. He may not win the elections(Which i belive he can with ADD coming in the mix, East, West, North, South axis). Sata will again go on bantu botatwe rhetorics and call our luvale, nkoya, Luchazi etc cousins Namazayi.. and kupu.. Watch the space..More Drama imaging soon..let the game begin

  31. “I told Mr Hichilema to make a pact with President Banda and the MMD because that is the only way he can have a chance to probably come and stand for the presidency in 2016. He came here and I slaughtered a buffalo for him but he only ate one piece. I was very annoyed,” he said.
Walilufyanya sana HH tefyo bachita kunfumu no no no You should have hammered half of it. Hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kekekekekekek!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. “I told Mr Hichilema to make a pact with President Banda and the MMD because that is the only way he can have a chance to probably come and stand for the presidency in 2016. He came here and I slaughtered a buffalo for him but he only ate one piece. I was very annoyed,” he said.:-w funny how we major in minors in Zambia.

  33. #23 Bull, First of all Dr.Scott is not a boer, secondly i think you are being racist, in the remark you made. If you want to give your opinions you should just give it dont call people names or being triablist or any kind of discrimation. Pay your point nicely and people will respect you.

Now coming to my opinion i think even though Dr.Scott, was right in acting in his own capacity as a columnist, i think its something he has to avoid next time just for the sake of team work. The reality in any organisation we can never agree about everything, we can agree on certain things but not all. He may not have agreed in the nomination of the UPND candidate as he would have calculated that he would lose, but possibly he should have put in the press.

  34. cont #38 ..meant should not have put in the press. But since it was already written, i think the UPND should also have kept it lo and discussed it with him as PACT to resolve the issue so that it doesn’t happen. Such reaction in public are not good for them as a PACT.

  35. # 15 (Peacemaker)
Your English is scary; where did you obtain those qualifications? It must be Matero, hehehehe!!

  36. #2. Whats wrong with that? So, to you even for a knee examination these chaps should be flocking to South Africa? Theres something terribly wrong with your head. The mobile hospitals are/will be, here. Wait and see if RB and family, and his friends will ever use them.

  37. I think it is okay & fruitfull to have disputes & in the same vein, it helps the PACT learn how to tackle the minor issues that still linger within the individual feelings & opinions of its members. Am sure we should not blame Dr scott for his article. He has been writting since i dont know and perhaps its only in zambia where heads of state do not write articles about the welfare of the country or their feelings on the country’s position in the world & domestically. Fidel Castro & one Zuma.Mbeki too. These people are the pinnacle of society-nations as individual. We read articles about Gabriel & Kemire & so many including one fuitive Fackson Banda. Am not sure whether Scott is any different due to the fact that he is PF-give him a break & see the holes that UPND has & collect them.

  38. Let us look at the root cause of this conflict, Dr Scott’s statement that t“UPND must be ruing the day it ‘won’ the argument about who should contest.” Now let us be honest, whould a PF candidate, even if it was Inonge Wina, have managed to beat Milupi or come close to getting the number of votes Illilonga got? The answer is aabsolutely NO. PF would have performed worse than UPND so their is no need for Guy celebrate. He is just licking his wounds because PF lost in two(Milazi & Serenje) parliamentary bye elections they have contested so far under the pact. MMD have also lost two parliamentary seats to UPND so some how they have become buddies because they are both jealousy losers. ULP have also joined in the gloating because as we know they came forth in their own supposedly…

  39. TRIBALISTS WILL NEVER RULE ZAMBIA!!! U KNOW YOURSELVES….SOME OF YOU NOT EVEN THE POSITION OF VEEP WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU..

  40. Uwauma Nafyala says:

If went to matero then you are too monotonous and indolent a chap just shut up, I never acquainted with you not go to school .If you are too jealousy of my accounting qualifications, then you are a suntwe without a plan.

  41. SATA is the best that zambia needs we all know that lets not hid in tribalism ba mukuta, even senior citizen knows that its that he is protecting his job.

  42. #18, who can advise HH, does he listen? The decision to go into pact was made by HH and HH alone, the rest of those so called big brains and the general membership were just informed. But instead of calling them big brains which they may have, maybe call them naive men and no courage.

  43. TRUTH says:

I’m a Finance Director for a soft drinks manufacturing company here.

  44. Sata finally apulumuka. He can now put his two dubious degree on the shelves since the NCC has scrapped off the degree clause. But then does he have a grade twelve of form five certificate? Iliko bad.Guys this is a lesson to young ones, get educated while young and finish all the business with MOE otherwise another Sata affair awaits.

  45. Scott is PF Vice President and so there is a very thin line between his opinion as an individual and as PF VP. But then who does not know Mr Sata? He will personally come out hard on UPND when he thinks the time is right and get maximum advantage. For now, he gives UPND tuma dyonko chabe.

  46. This PACT is non existent Bane! The dream of most Zambians for change has been shattered because once more the PACT leaders have let their evil desires and greedy nature take control. For as long as leaders do not learn to be selfless and humble, change will never come to this country. Zambia and Sub Saharan Africa will continue to lag behind on the world stage with such mentality in the leadership!

  47. Nice news for PF, the NCC has decided to remove the “Degree clause” from the NCC Constitution to be finalised this month-end and so let PF move out of the PF-UPND PACT so that we see as Zambians who will perform better than the other in the 2011 tripartite elections.

On “In Livingstone, UPND cadres, led by George Mwiinga, questioned Dr Scott’s analysis, saying it was clear that PF was not committed to the pact and wanted to contest next year’s elections alone. .. said PF president Michael Sata had previously indicated on a community radio station in Livingstone that he was a better candidate for the presidency and wondered why PF was jittery when UPND president, Mr Hichilema also announced that he was the better candidate” reported by Times of Zambia, this is good…

  48. Continuing on the NCC has decided to remove the “Degree clause” from the NCC Constitution to be finalised this month-end, this will allow the Mr two-degrees holding-claimant Sata MC to escape showing the Nation his so-called 2 degrees.

On “In Livingstone, UPND cadres, led by George Mwiinga, questioned Dr Scott’s analysis, saying it was clear that PF was not committed to the pact and wanted to contest next year’s elections alone. .. said PF president Michael Sata had previously indicated on a community radio station in Livingstone that he was a better candidate for the presidency and wondered why PF was jittery when UPND president, Mr Hichilema also announced that he was the better candidate” by Times of Zambia,UPND juniors must continue responding to top PF…

  49. You trabalists, why always cry like babes? You are showing your inferiority complex here. Only those people who are inferior to others always cry even when there is nothing to cry over.

It is a known fact that Sata should be president and HH vice. It is also a known fact that PF commands larger support than UPND in Lusaka and Copperbelt. These are facts which people should not pretend not to have known. But what we are seeing is that , you guys are becoming deeply rooted in tribalism which has nothing to offer to poor Zambians. what good is it for us having a person of our tribe rule …nothing if a leader is like RB. All Zambians suffer in the same way.

So just grow up and stop these useless tribal sentiments but concentrate on uniting the PACT. Zambians want a working Gonvt.

  50. SATA has no degree his is just day dreaming, tell us which university did he go to we Google his details .The BURGER is just trying to fool around the NCC so that they drop the degrees clause in the new constitution, whether you chaps like it or not the degree clause is a done deal , the BURGER is wired for good .Just start campaigning for your Willie Nsanda and Mumbi Phiri otherwise you will be in trouble.

  51. On the NCC’s decision to drop the Degree Clause for qualification as presidential candidate, sadly, it might still be tricky for PF members or top leadership if the NCC has replaced the Degree Clause with the Grade 12 Mong’omba Commission clause for a presidential candidate — and I think this move to put a Degree Clause in the NCC Draft Constitution was tactical initially so that NCC would appear later on (now) that is has listened to the public’s concern.

And UPND elected president HH has shown the rare trait in real leaders in his comments “And when contacted, UPND president Hakainde Hichilema declined to comment on Dr Scott’s remarks“.

This is a good lesson to PF self-appointed leader MC Sata and appointed vice-leader Guy Scott. Let the PACT continue.

    Be…

  52. 59 Peace maker FCCA,MAAT,FZICA,CIA,BSc (Hon) greetings, and I have no doubt that you are 100% correct on your “SATA has no degree his is just day dreaming, tell us which university did he go to we Google his details” and asking SATA MC and PF nicely.

But I tell you the truth, NCC has dropped the Degree Clause and Minister of Justice, Vice-President George Kunda even said that the Degree Clause was in bad-faith and hopefully bad-test. So your “The BURGER is just trying to **** around the NCC so that they drop the degrees clause in the new constitution, whether you chaps like it or not the degree clause is a done deal , the BURGER is wired for good” is history.

However, the Grade 12 or standard 10 equivalence may most likely sort SATA MC/PF

    Be blest…

  53. Please do not waste your energy on the pact. The “packet ” pact dissolved it self by yapping to much. Come 2011 Sata & HH will stand. Supporters start campaigning to ensure that we put the candidate of our choice not who will be imposed on us pact members.

  54. HH is behaving like a House wife that gets abused by her husband and desperately wants to leave him. But on the other hand, she is afraid; she cannot stand on her feet when she divorces him. Therefore keeps giving in just to survive.

The more he allows these PF guys bite him, the more he paints the picture that he is weak.
Yes, sometimes, it’s wiser to let fools talk a lot, however every dog must stand fierce on its home ground.

HH is not spear heading the party in times of difficulty & adversity. He has always felt comfortable standing on the Pulpit, insulting RB. Now that the high temperatures are in his corner, he is failing to stand the heat.

HH is not showing any Mojo. He has not recovered from the wax, in M’menbe’s Post Editorials.
    SATA has lost credibility too..

  55. The way things are moving, no one should lead the pact. Each leader to stand in 2011. A pact should only work on paper to allow each party not to compete where the other party is strong in this way inclusive government could be formed. The President who wins should appoint his friend a vice, this will rest the case of who should stand. Let the people choose whom they want either HH or Sata. This is workable if members are educated on how they should vote.

  56. Disintegrate and mind your own businesses. From where I stand, you chaps never learn learn.:-?

  57. Disintegrate and continue licking your post election wounds in your usual positions. Amen.

  58. On “Ms [ULP national chairperson for women Charity] Katilungu said Mr Ililonga should accept the fact that UPND has lost popularity in Western Province and other parts of Zambia since Mr Hichilema allegedly uttered words that only a Tonga could lead UPND at the 2006 party convention,” I want to believe that the Zambia Daily Mail has misrepresented Ms Charity Katilungu’s or ULP’s real message to the UPND and Nation. I hope Zambia Daily Mail will apologise to the ULP in general and Ms Charity Katilungu in particular as soon as possible failure to which I am now asking the UPND and HH to take the ULP and Zambia Daily Mail to the Zambian court system for libel.

This will help people to be truthful in their endeavours to gain political mileage.

    Be blest all.

    Matt…

  59. Further, “Ms [ULP national chairperson for women Charity] Katilungu said Mr Ililonga should accept the fact that UPND has lost popularity in Western Province and other parts of Zambia since Mr Hichilema allegedly uttered words that only a Tonga could lead UPND at the 2006 party convention” must be used by the mighty UPND and HH to take the ULP, Ms Charity Katilunga, LT and the Zambia Daily Mail to the Zambian court system for libel if they individually or collectively do not apologise to HH and the UPND within 2 days.

This will help people to be truthful in their endeavours to gain political mileage.

As for “So, there is no need for our friends (UPND) to be jittery,” Mr [PF/MC] Sata said“, I urge SATA MC to be sincere to PF-UPND PACT.

    Be blest…

  60. #46 TRUTH, If we were in a zoo or a circus,i would have totally agreed with you.now that we are a nation craving for a sober minded and serious leadership i disagree with you.

  61. # 71Truelly Sata for President but in Satanland not pa Zed coz we are not crazy as Zedians. 2011 only diplomats will continue ruling without mentioning the name

  62. # 41 you should have read wise #20

my bro/sis, if the man aspiring to be president makes fun of anothers illness, then there is something wrong with him. We were tought from childhood to respect the unfortunate, the ill, the handicaped etc. Have you heard Obama, Nick Clegg, Cameron, or even Blair make such references? Not even prince Phillip would make fun of another persons illness. Next, if we are not careful, our children will be making such references.

All iam trying to highlight are the warning shots from Sata. Zambia can do better. In fact it is doing better with RB. This does not mean there isnt someone else better than RB. Maybe try someone else from PF/UPND to contest in 2011 elections. Sata must MOVE!!!!!!

  63. Look at! These are more warning shots.

”LUNGU and Mambwe chiefs in Northern Province have directed Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata to immediately stop commenting on the death of Mpulungu MMD member of Parliament (MP) Lameck Chibombamilimo because it is barbaric and untraditional.”

  64. Ms Katilungu, I think even us who were not there in Luena would believe Ililonga’s allegations because your party performed badly in the polls because you had nothing to say to the electorates, how can you get 300 votes shame. You were just busy assasinating other people’s characters and not saying what you would do to them, no wonder your party president Sikota is regarded as a prodigal son in western province. His party is now finished thats why upnd could not adopt him because they were aware of his weaknesses and lazines, if he was popular why can’t he sale his party, he is just doing political prostitution whereby today he is in bed with Sata and tomorrow with MMD. The only place where he can stand is only Livingstone but even then they cannot accept him as presidential…

  65. Sikota is a finished politician, the man cannot command even a single province, the Litunga rejected him when Banda wanted to appoint him as vice-president in 2008. The Litunga said Sikota is not our own or does not represent western province but southern because that is the only area where he decided to stand as MP, meaning the Man has never been part of western province. Milupi came into politics recently but is better than Saki because he has the heart for the province than Saki who just remembers the province when he needs their votes. Ililonga is even better than Saki because he can stand as an MP in the province. Mazoka told Saki to stand in Western province but he refused saying he would damage his car in the sand because roads are so bad.

  66. The truth hurts but let it be told that Sata will be over 80 years old in 2016. Son if he things UPND fortunes are not a factor I challenge him to stand on PF ticket like he has been doing for the past ten years. On the other hand, HH can contest up to six more elections and so is not the desparate one. We know who is desparate and we shall teach him a lesson together with his venom advisor memmbe freda of the weaklying past pfuu vuvuzela.

  67. PACT is crumbling by the minute, watch this space…typical of Zambian opposition politicians; they’re jokers who can’t see the big picture and with this kind of petty behaviour, none of them will ever enter plot 1. Viva RB and MMD…!

  68. The constant attacks on Mr. Hichilema from some of you bloggers raises a lot of concern. No wonder you don’ t sleep and spend almost all your time blogging on your computers is abundant proof that you have got nothing to do in life apart from writing immaterial opinions. I can further foresee a situation where some of you shall just go to your early graves without making any meaningful contribution to Zambia. You cannot be writing such nonsestical articles about HH out of hatred yet he has done nothing wrong to anyone of you. You are the same people who are a let down to Zambia because you are still controlled by your primitive ideas of basing issues on tribal lines and your hatred to HH is nothing else apart from that he is Tonga. Please, try to change your thinking for a better Zambia.

  69. AM ASHAMED TO CALL MY SELF BEMBA UBU EPUPU SATA CAN NOT HALLUCINATE LIKE THIS IN THE PRESS AND WANT TO MOCK ZAMBIANS THE WAY HE FUULED US DURING THE THIRD TERM NA KA CHILUBA, SCOTT IS A VICE PRESIDENT OF PF WHEATHER HE SAID IT IN HIS CAPACITY THATS LUCK OF JUDGEMENT. THIS AROGANCE WILL NEVER TAKE U N WHERE BA SATA NO WONDER FTJ PICKED LEVY NOT U. SUCH A COMMENT MUST NOT COME FROM A LEADER LIKE YOU. HH PLZ GET OUT THESE S’TUPID AROGANT SATANIST. ALL ZAMBIANS KNOW SATA KILLED THE PACT DUE TO HIS SEFISHNESS. CHIKAFWA NOMBA LINE AND YOU WILL STILL HAVE A CHANCE
