The National Youth League (NYL) has challenged expelled Kafulafuta Member of Parliament and former Defense Minister George Mpombo to come out in the open and declare himself a Patriotic Front (PF) member.
And the NYL says it is happy with the manner in which President Rupiah Banda in has maturely handled criticisms by sections of society .
The organization’s Secretary General Lucky Soko charged that Mr. Mpombo is being used as a pawn to smear propaganda exhibiting traits of hatred, bitterness and jealous on President Rupiah Banda’s government.
Mr. Soko says it is unfortunate that Mr. Mpombo who had a good time during the tenure of government would like to blind himself to the fact that there has been a change of leadership style in the country to that of President Banda.
In a press statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Mr. Soko said It was very interesting to note that Mr. Mpombo who has been portrayed by the Post as ‘Brave’ has actually proved to be a coward.
“It is an open secret that Mr. Mpombo was favoured by the late President Mwanawasa’s administration but it could be wise enough for him to realize that status quo has changed for him. Let Mr. Mpombo come out in open and declare himself a PF sympathizer,” Mr. Soko said.
He claimed that Mr. Mpombo has been portrayed by the Post Newspaper a ‘Brave’ but actually proved a coward who is dead afraid of running for a by election on PF ticket of which he is currently a member.
Mr. Soko reminded Mr. Mpombo that he was expelled from the MMD Party for gross indiscipline and failure to respect party rules and procedures and the NYL finds it immature for Mr. Mpombo to comment on MMD issues.
“The National Youth League finds the behavior of Mr. Mpombo to be childish and immature which is nothing short of that of a toddler. Mr. Mpombo at his age is expected to show maturity and not bitterness as a result of loss of pecuniary benefits as a result of change of government. Mr. Mpombo needs to realize that Mr. Banda is the Head of State for 12 million Zambians” he said.
According to Mr. Soko he named education, road infrastructure, the Farmer Input Fertilizer Programme as some of the notable economic development achievements set in place by the MMD government’s good policies.

He has lost common sense, strategy, and purpose in the prevalent political dispensation. Consecutive Governments discard personal games but embrace institutional values and agenda. America’s Obama and his DNC administration has continued executing the Bush era initiated GOP programs in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Korean armistice, Iran embargos and the Caspian sea billion dollar rivalries. Most of what Obama has maintained are even from the policies of many past administration from Truman to George Bush. Obama has continued driving the national shuttle of Government.
How I wish this daft chap understood project management in the Government perspective. Ruling Party orchestrated National development are matters of collectiveness in the name of the President. They come with continuity and transitiveness. There is always a logical relationship but political will of a seating president is what predicates delivery time.

Come what may, it’s these MMD driven ambitious Grandscale developments around the country losers will have to deal with before Zambian voters. If RB was not spirited in getting things done, he would have abandoned everything or starved them resource wise until they took natural death. You have to work hard to undo these much valued national gains. Insults, lies, hatred, tribalism and knee-jerk reactions will not do PF any good. Be like late Anderson Kambela Mazoka. Present to Zambians parallel practical alternative road maps for national development and start articulating national issues instead of espousing family, tribal and personal bitterness. Build a national character that manifests leadership traits where comparative political and economics are brought into picture.

UnLucky Soko is uttering nonsense. There is no democracy whatsoever in the MMD. RB is already sole candidate even before the convention has been held. Anyone who says anything anti RB or does not agree with him becomes a target for elimination. Mpombo is no exception.

The MMD is starting to increasingly look like George Orwell’s Animal Farm. Orwell’s Animal Farm successfully presents how the mechanism of propaganda and brainwashing works in totalitarian regimes, by showing how the pigs could make the other animals believe practically anything.
Responsible for the propaganda was Squealer, a pig that “could turn black into white”.
Squealer managed to change the rule from “all animals are equal” to “all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”. He managed to convince the other animals that it was for their sake that the pigs ate most of the apples and drank most of the milk, that…

How else can one explain the reaction to Enoch Kavindele’s announcement that he will be a candidate for the MMD’s vice-presidency at the party’s convention to be held early next year? And surprising, it is those who have been campaigning for Rupiah Banda to be the party president and its presidential candidate in next year’s elections.
Rupiah announced his candidature for this position a long time ago. And there are many others in the party who have declared him a sole candidate for the MMD presidency. Others have even gone beyond to suggest that there is no need even for presidential elections next year because Rupiah has done so well in his job as President of the Republic.
So measured against this background, what wrong has Enoch committed; what party rules or norms has Enoch violated? It seems in the MMD, what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. But this is not the way to live in a civilised society. There is need to treat others as we would like to be treated. We should always remind ourselves of the Golden Rule, “Treat others as you would like to be treated.”
It is only foolish PF that can have sex with Mulongoti, Mpombo and Derick Mbita Chitala after tones of insults poured on Mr SATA when they were in MMD. These fools will feel it after the party they are supporting goes to sleep when Mr SATA suffers from heart attack after results.
