Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province has called for male circumcision clinics.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni said as a tool in the fight against HIV/AIDS circumcision should be encouraged adding that HIV/AIDS is everyone’s concern.
The Paramount Chief said this in a speech read on his behalf by his representative George Zulu at a luncheon which was held at US Ambassador to Zambia Mark Storella’s residence in Sunningdale in Kabulonga.
He added that there was need to fight the disease by returning some of the good customs practiced in traditions such as circumcision.
Present at the luncheon was Republican President Rupiah Banda and Defence Minister Kalombo Mwansa.
Meanwhile Paramount Chief Mpezeni has said that he is looking for an investor from the United States of America (USA) to partner with his people in putting up a factory at Feni his headquarters to manufacture coal-bricates.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni said that this would be an alternative to charcoal energy.
He said with America’s advanced technology, the industry could go a long way in stopping the savage destruction of the forest for charcoal.
The Paramount Chief also gave Ambassador Storella a white shield and a black knob-Karee a symbol of peace between the Ngoni and the Americans.

I totally agree with the above posts 100%. This is also another form of genital mutilation. Why should it be different from that of females’? I know of a friend who was cut when he was a baby and later, went on to sue his parents for having done that to him. He is currently undergoing foreskin restoration. And also there are many more who are regretting after they realize that they can no longer enjoy S3X as they used to.

I agree with many of the comments above. When we say a fight against HIV/AIDS, does it mean we are now looking at circumcision the same way condoms have been viewed. Then I tell you they will even be more infections and you watch this, period.

blogaz male circumcision is has been shown by robust evidence to lower male’s chances of getting HIV.it is one of the HIV prevention strategies. NO PERSON will be force to take part in the prevention oppotunity however beneficial it may be.
In at least six African countries, more of the circumcised men have HIV than the non-circumcised, so the “60% protection” doesn’t seem to work in the real world. Abstinence is a big ask, but condoms and “zero grazing” (one partner at a time) would do much more.

Those promoting circumcision are maliciously ignoring Wawer/Gray 2009 who showed that circumcising Ugandan men INCREASED the risk that they would transmit HIV female partners by 50%. Until this finding is studied further it is very irresponsible to tell men circumcision is any kind of answer.
