Zanaco kicked off their pre-season warm-ups with a 3-0 win this afternoon over HCB Songo of Mozambique in an international club friendly played at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
And Power Dynamos will face Nchanga Rangers in the final of the Nchanga Rangers invitational tournament currently taking place in Chingola.
Meanwhile, two of Zanaco’s three goals against Songo were scored by newcomers as the 2009 Super Division champions try to find a new rhythm after the departure of eight first-team players in the off-season.
Danny Chama from Nchanga scored one and so did one Boyd Mwangelwa from Nampundwe.
Mwangelwa is expected to make his Super Division debut after winning the 2006 KCM Young Player of the Year with the Division 1 South club.
Striker Makundika Sakala scored Zanaco’s other goal.
And at Watson Stadium in Chingola, hosts Nchanga beat Division One North club Mufulira Blackpool 3-0 to reach the final of the pre-season tournament they are hosting.
Kabwe Chileshe scored a brace while Cletous Chota scored one for Nchanga.
Power on the other hand beat archrivals and defending champions Nkana 2-0 to reach the finals courtesy of goals from Felix Nyaende and Luka Lungu.
Nkana won the last tournament that was held in 2000 when they beat Zamsure 3-1 in the final played at Nchanga Stadium.
