And Nchanga Rangers drew away also on Saturday in Zimbabwe where they played promoted FC Platinum at Maglas Stadium in Zvishavane.

In Solwezi, Nkana beat promoted Division 2 side Lumwana Rangers 2-1 courtesy of a brace from their Zambia Under-23 striker Evans Kangwa.

At Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe, Power beat fellow Super Division club Konkola Blades 3-0.

Kennedy Mudenda converted an early penalty before Luka Lungu gave Power a 2-0 halftime lead.

New signing and former Zesco United and Lusaka Dynamos midfielder Josphat Nkhoma made it 3-0 after the break.

Meanwhile in Zimbabwe, Rangers striker Mathews Macha scored his sides’ lone goal in their international pre-season club friendly against the Zimbabwe top-flight debutants in the south central mining town.

  1. Atase. I totally agree with you. I could just tell from the appearance of the Nkana KTK 722 bus that things were not good with team’s sponsorship. I really hope they manage to get back to Wusakile with no breakdowns.

  2. Hello tHe bESt. Did Nkana travel to NW? I thought Lumwana came to Nkana. It is really disheartening to see the once glamorous team of Zambian football being reduced to pulp by Mopani! I wish some powerful company could take over. How did the team’s performance and prospect for the new season likely to be according to your assessment?

  3. I still hope for time when ba ZNBC will start showing us these matches. some of us cant just travel to see live. when we can we do. I remember KCM when the began league sponsor wanted to do this but some powerful people blocked this. Copperbelt is indeed/arguably the future of ZED football

  4. Atase. Yes Nkana travelled to Lumwana. The perfprmance is difficult to say because its either Lumwana is improving ( having been given a 10 – 0 bashing by ZESCO in December) or Nkana’s performance has dwindled. The game looked like a 50-50 affair and headed for a draw until stoppage time when Nkana scored the winner.
