Kalusha Returns Home

Share

Kalusha Bwalya returned home today for the first time since his landslide victory in Khartoum where he was elected executive committee at the 33rd Caf Congress on February 23.

Kalusha arrived at mid-day today from Johannesburg and was met by Faz officials and scores of well-wishers at Lusaka International airport.

The 1988 African footballer of the year said he was dedicating his Caf victory to his parents.

“I want to pay tribute to my late father Benjamin Lemba Bwalya and my mother here who have always believed in me ever since I was a ball boy in Kamuchanga,” Kalusha said.

“My mother always taught me that through discipline, integrity, and desire I could achieve anything.

“My family have always been by me especially my wife Emmy they have always stood by me. In this moment I also want to share this moment with all the people who have had an impact in my life. From Buyantanshi school, Northrise, Mukuba High all the teachers that helped raise me.”

Kalusha also paid tribute to former Zambian coaches Colonel Brightwell Banda, Boniface Simutowe, Fred Mwila and Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu.

He also paid tribute to Dickson Makwaza, Ackim Musenge and the late Dick Chama.

  1. Tribute to people who are not even there, what about us who are showing soliderity to you in these times of tribulation.
Come on, anyway – congratulations. Next, contest the CAF Presidency in 2013 – Issa is tired so start campeigning now……..

  2. park your bags and go now that you have something to do elswhere. you will be respected only if you resign on your own ahead of the AGM

  3. Great Kalu congrats. May the Lord Bless you and please forgive and embrace your enemies because one day they are going to fall.

  4. Ba Kalusha how do you include even Kamuchanga? When did you ever visit Mufulira and encourage Mighty Mufulira Wanderers? Remember your roots bwana on your way up. You shall need abena WAWA Chongo.

  5. Well done. Keep flying the Zedian flag for us. This man has always been breaking new ground on what Zambians can do. If we abandoned our negative attitudes and gained confidence with our abilities, many Zambians can become successful. Again, well done Kalu. Keep on scoring those free kicks from awkward angles!

  6. kalu is ok. measure out put not the time one sits in the office. there are chaps that have never been absent from workbut with no reasonable out put

  7. Kalu please assist Wawa. The man is a near destitute now. Connect him for a coaching course in Netherlands or link link him up somewhere in SA as a soccer scout

  8. Cheers the great son of this great land(zed). Haters go to hell or join Gaddafi(the fool is killing his own people)

  9. congrats big man!!! the people you have paid tribute to im sure are close to your heart. we need zambians in the mix of things.

  10. Congrats Kalu, remain focused and dont listen to haters, coz thats the way its some will like you some will hate you, pipo like Simata Simata who hates God’s people who prosper.

  11. Congrats ba Kalu. Ignore those loud mouthed “dickless” lazy alcohol addicts, hypocrites, critics and sceptics who are good for nothing except to sit at those dirty taverns every evening consuming their sorrows in alcohol.

  12. Is Emmy the new wife?? If so, for how long has she been on your side??
Selfish individual you are. I suggest you stand on BY’s party as VP

  13. I love the passion with which Kalu has spoken I feel like crying!!!it feels so dear to my heart, the passion u have for soccer is really undisputable unlike this kamanga guy Rupia’s nephew sent to distabilies soccer by Rupia Banda..this no confidence VOTE won’t work!!welcome back..Kalu..I wish u all the best my regards to Emmy and your family..the future is certainly ours

  14. Kalu was ”dumped” even by GRZ machinery, the Post reported him in the negative from all angles but despite all the odds the Guy has pulled through ! He has indeed remembered some great soccer players of yester years who must really be proud of his achievements! Goodluck kalu.

  15. wats up my nigggaz! wazhannin! kalu my conacy is back in town u feel.? he done done what he had to do in the kharts u feel me dawg. nigggas gota stop hating and getin paid u dig? holla at yo boy richy richy repping the 7 east long all day long my nigs

  16. Congrats mwaice Kalu! Ulichaume iwe! 4get those chaps trying to pull u down bcoz lots of zambians are still proud of you.But ako ka Emmily u mentioned eka gelo ka new or what?I’m sure nika mpompo proper bcoz iwe naiwe mwaice your eyes are not just on the ball alone but anyway congrats!

  17. Oh my Great Kalu!!! Ala uli nshimbi !! epashili pakuleka!! At a time when every forsake you,you stoo your ground. Some media in their endless hate for you propagated a ‘landslide’ for their ‘heavyweight’ but all in their dreams cos you prevailed.YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

  18. Congratulations to Great Kalu! Ulinshimbi mudala and you have always represented Zambia extremely well!

  19. I am waiting for the day that you will stay all night
I don’t need no explanation coz I know how you feel
    your love is real…

Just kidding, but I really love Kalu.

  20. Pliz fellow zambians, let’s stop being pettie, Kalu is our pride and ambassador, the world over he commands a lot of respect. Let’s be civil and level headed on this platform since we r on da world spectrum.

  21. Kalu needs love Copperbelt style. You all know what I am talking about. Why should our best men be exported to other women. I am looking at real estate in Jo’burg right now. Sorry Emmy.

  22. congrats kalusha, you’re really great kalu but remember to close your ears to all those trying to let you down, they’re jealous of bcoz they can’t make it in life like you.go kalu go.

  23. Danny (Yakumbuyo) Masikuonse has a cunny way of prophesying such stuff. He said something like this in his ‘chikalaba ififine’ song, except he saw Geneva as in FIFA.

  24. Congrats Kalu.

But for those who say you have done a lot for Zambia, I always wonder what you have done. I say say so because even with the local trophies Zambia has ever minted you have never played in any. And your friends that have never helped their contries win trophies have at least built a hospital, sponsors a very good academy, and are never mentioned in any scandal.

Please help raise the Zambian flag. One thing for sure, you are not the first to serve in that position, even our man Sir Tom Mtine served in CAF. tHANK YOU.

  25. ‘kalu returns home’, where is the home zambia or south africa? Mufulira Wanderers is always going down, do they even have socks! blackpool is like a secondary school team. great player but worst adm….., education!!!

  26. #33: Kalu’s first black wife, thanks… I can go to sleep without nightmares now. He thinks he’s white too!

  27. Well Kulu well done but you did not mention the freat Godfrey “Ucar” Chitalu and please there is just too much noise around you scandals, Faz Mayuka, Mbola transfers ets. IciBemba says “mwikala patalala mwine upatalalika” – If you say where it is quiet its the owner who makes it quiet.

  28. Kalusha never attended Mukuba high but rather Mufulira high. Simata is the one that went to Mukuba, meanwhile, congratulations Kalu. Progression in life is cardinal.

  29. Under Pressure!!!!!!!

Kalusha is very very childish and immature, honestly how do you dedicate to your a person after being elected to a position that is meant to serve the people?

We don’t dedicate positions but trophies? This position is for service to the African soccer and its not personal trophy! CAF may force you to resign any time.

That is why Kalusha has failed to function and serve soccer n Zambia diligently as FAZ president because he thinks he got a trophy.

After all the troubles he has passed through, Kalusha seem to be depressed from the way he expressed this, he seem to be missing the love he was given in contrast to the current happenings at FAZ where people do not want him.

Kalusha, welcome to football politics, be strong and resign if under pressure…

  30. Ba Kalu mwalibomba sana. I personally want to meet you but how? You a great leader on and off the pitch. Next it ll be caf presidence and a seat in the fifa exec. keep it up my man.

  31. CONGRATS KING KALU, and please dont resign but let let power angry enemies of your get your seat through the front door and through the ballot at the right time, that is in 2012 if they are popular. They must never take any seat without working for it.
    GOD BLESS YOU

  32. Bravo the great son of the ZED.Other chaps are full of mouth vibrators(verbal Diarrhorea) but nothing practical comes out.

  33. Congratulations my big bro’!! Zedians, we must begin to embrace branding what we can maximise our competitiveness on, be it products, personalities, or places. It is high time we moved away from this hater syndrome that has gripped a lot of our endeavours. We then can move away from dwelling on history and move forward from a triumphant present to a victorious future!!!! Congrats once again ba Kalusha!

  34. Cheers Great Kalu you have continued to raise Zambian flag high remain focused and keep eyes on the ball, haters campaigned for foreigners alas you managed to out wit them .

  35. Are you guys reporting properly? Kalusha was never at Mukuba Secondary which is in Kitwe. He was at Mufulira Secondary School.

  36. I have just read the same story from other sources and its clear that LT’s report is full of errors. #40 Way Forward; the coaches that Kalusha mentions are those who played a part in nurturing him as a youngster. The Great Ucar wasn’t a coach at the time and he only came to coach Kalu in the national team for a few months before his passing on.

  37. Some people are stupid, ati u can only dedicate trophies sure!!! Zambia will never go anywhere with such kind of low thinking people. You can dedicate any victory to whoever you want to!!!! GO KALU!!

  38. May I differ with the heading (Kalusha Returns Home) .. He has no home in Zambia forcing Mwanawasa to invicate Kalusha from the Pamzi hotel where gvt was spending dollars on his room rental.. Why was he living in a hotel if he has a home in Zambia?? Someone to recorrect me if u do remember !!!

  39. #53 Jungleman

Then let our President dedicate his Presidency to whosoever he wants?

    Are you from the jungle?

  40. ok! obviously the chap means his new position is for his family rather than to benefit zambian football. i mean no mention on how he plans to use his new post to benefit the young generation of footballers who idolise him and yet he used his faz position to get to CAF.maybe he just 4got out of excitment and lets hope so. many have come used FAZ for there personal gains and left. its time to move on…. away from this ex kk11 member

  41. 56 dr doom

You are doomed.. the KK11 reached higher heights and worth respect than the Chipolopolo.
It was football played by well displined players coached by locals, And the ranking on fifa list was better than nowadays. Even Liwewe can echo my statement.

  42. I think one of the biggest problems that Kalu has is communicating his vision so that people can know where he is taking Zambian football. You hardly hear him doing this. It is nice that he has managed to get a CAF position but the question is, how is it going to benefit our football. So far it is about him and his achievements as an individual. As a leader you need to constantly motivate and let people know where you are taking them.

  43. Just after Kalu had ended his active Soccer playing then one N’gwangwazi was heard saying, addressing the others, as Kalusha was passing by. ” ABAKAMBA BA KALU ZO OONA 21 YEARS TABAIKALAPO PA BENCH, BAKAMBA ELYO TABA BAPELAPO RED CARD” That is true Kalusha was never sent off. He is very discplined. The is no player who has supassed him.
