Zambia move back into top 100

Zambia have returned to the top 100 of the Fifa world rankings thanks to a 4-0 victory over Swaziland.

Their progress is at the expense of Niger (104th, down 8 places), who were defeated 3-0 by Morocco.

As expected, there are no significant moves by African teams in the latest world rankings.

Ghana’s Black Stars are the only African side in the world’s top 20, ranked at number 16.

They are followed by Ivory Coast (25), Egypt (35) and Nigeria (39).

South Africa continue to make steady progress, moving up to number 46 – their highest position since October 2005.

World Cup champions Spain remain top of the monthly rankings while Argentina rise above Brazil to become South America’s top dogs.

Spain lead an unchanged all-European top three from the Netherlands and Germany.

Argentina are up one place at number four and Brazil slip to fifth place.

Argentina have been rewarded for a 2-1 victory over Portugal in a friendly, while Brazil lost 1-0 to France.

  1. Fifa is not fair, they shud have combined zanmbias 4-0 victory over south africa plus 38 votes kalu got at caf elections, combine them to make 42 then subtract it from 104 to make 62. Zambia should be lying 64th in the world. vlackie recalculate

    Correct. 67 Botswana, 88 Malawi, 93 Mozambique.
LT.. Is 100 top some time Zambia was in the region of 73 there is nothing to celebrate at 97. More improvement needed.

  4. #9, no ways that Zambia is worse than Mozambique and Botswana. This sign of too many problems in Zambian politics. Now I start to understand why some Zambians are changing their names.

  5. why dont we try boxing? we are tired of the so called football, imagine what good is number 100 when others are number 1?

  6. I own a vast herb garden. I’ve dosicvered that a couple of the easiest vegetation to develop jointly are usually Peppermint along with Chives. Both of them are perennials and can return every single year. Both are tolerate of too much high temperature or too much water. Furthermore, i enjoy these two given that they expand effectively in the house through the winter season.
