The Zambia senior and Under-23 teams rose over the local football political mess to record important wins in their respective Africa Cup and Olympic Game qualifiers today.
At Machava Stadium in Maputo, Zambia maintained their 100 per cent unbeaten record over Mozambique after withering a Mamba storm to win 2-0.
Chinese-based striker James Chamanga put Zambia ahead in the 14th minute after rounding Mozambique goalkeeper Joao Kapango.
Mozambique then put Zambia under the cosh but some brave stops by goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene kept Dario Bonetti’s side in the game.
75th minute substitute Emmanuel Mayuka who came on for the reforming Collins Mbesuma made sure of the victory with an 90th minute goal after a cheeky chip over Kapango.
Zambia top Group C on 6 points from three games, Mozambique slip to second staying on 3 points.
Libya, on 3 points, could join Bonetti’s side at the top if they beat winless and bottom placed Comoros whom they host in Bamako, Mali tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Zambia Under-23 also beat Rwanda by the same score-line at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka in their Olympic Games preliminary round qualifier.
Rodrick Kabwe and Roger Kola with goals in the 13th and 35th minutes respectively sealed the first leg win for Lucky Msiska’s side.
Team:
Mweene, Chintu, Chivuta (Nyambe60″), Kasonde, Musonda, S.Sunzu , Chansa, Kalaba, Mbesuma (Mayuka 74), Chamanga (Singuluma 68), C.Katongo
Congrats! let the confusion at FAZ continue because it seems our team perform better when confusion rules at FAZ.
nambala 1!! congrats chipolopolo)
Congratulations to both teams. I am sure there is enough time for them to prepare to prepare for the return games. GO ZAMBIA GO.
congrats..way to go.despite all the wrangles surrouding faz,you still went there and won.
surrounding faz
zambia awina ichungulo……. if it was not for kamanga and group to cause confusion inthe game.. we could have won with more goals…. plz kamanga your actions are not helpinh things
thanks to kalu’s connections to have our team camp in pretoria and use the fitness facilty at the pretoria university, our team performed.
Viva Kalu, Viva Chipolopolo! ABASH KAMANGA AND SIMATA!
Credit goes to the “Great Kalu”. Congrats my man; shame on your detractors who were eagerly waiting for the team to fail to qualify for them to find reasons of persecuting you even more. I coud imagine the shame Simata and his stooge Kamanga are feeling. If you think you can dare such a well connected man like Kalu reconsider your actions and hands off to the man.Viva Kali! Viva Chipopolo!!
LT is, “Chinese based”, correct?
Congratulations to the lads.
And now what is the next accusation on ” the so called falling Zambian football standards”? Well done guys. I am personally behind you.
Well done boys!!!i was at da game and i would say dario doesnt know what he is ddoing,,,he shud hv remoevd katongo and shud not have played him at all,,the guy is slow and doesnt offer anyting in attack,,Mambas were their for the slaughter, but neigh we went tos leep after scoring the 1st goal..2nd goal came in 95th min by than it was all over,,,also noted that their was no faz officail accompanying the team,,even kalu was not their…………what a shame,,i saw mbola,,the boy doesnt look like 17yr old,,
@Dyonko: It is embarrassing how our local papers take the readers for granted by not editing articles properly. Please employ people to help you with editing. Do not be stingy. We have a lot of graduates with diplomas and degrees in English. Remember that you are catering to a huge audience and such basic mistakes leave a bad taste in the mouth. Otherwise you (LT) are doing a good job with fresh and unbiased news!
Despite govt withdrawing sponsorship at the last minute, the guys have played well and won the match. So who does govt care? so who are they punishing? kalu or players.
I watched the game..its good..the keeper mweene did us good with massive saves, mbesuma is also coming up..well done boys
Its nice to see that Football unites Zambians..No one is talking about tribes here i.e this player is bemba or tonga or ngoni etc. I wish zambia could remain united like this. I am tired of dirty politics.
Congratulations Zambia, U23 and Kalu. Now those who bring confusions to the game must be purged. Away with Chimanga Changa and Shibata.
Ba LT chizungu twapapata. Its “with a 90th minute goal” and not “with an 90th minute goal.
Well done boys. You have done us proud. Oh, and shamed those politicians at FAZ. cant they just find jobs or join Prez Banda. They behave badly enough to warrant them automatic entry into B’s government.
lovely chaps senior/u23 we badly needed yhe wins..keep them coming..would do as good the fifa ranking..its so sad even botswana is ranked above us
China based player chinese? Well done lets keep up the winning ways.
Mwabomba bane. Lekeni Kalu ateke bane ba shimata/ Kamanga mwaba alyenu

Nscz has become chola boys for ss and kamanga.
No 15!!! what link did you watch the game?
Congrats real national teams and Great Kalu admin.
# 25 there was no link that # 15 chap was just following comments on zambianfootball.net
Well done! Go Zambia, Goal! Thanx for the good win. I hope iwe ci Simataa Simataa will realise that we are not interested in the politics of hatred exhibited by your Kamanga led group. Shame on you
much as we rejoice at the results, i notice the zambian syndrome of hero worshipping very much evident in the postings here. the man himself, kalu, only the other day encouraged people to move away from what he termed ‘ the zambian personality cult worship ‘, not the exact words but pretty much to that effect. now here we have people attributing these results to kalu’s “connectedness”. i hate this word and am sure even kalu himself hates it. it denotes some kind of selfishness on the part of the purported “connected person”. but again, thats the mentality, always has been with us zambians…. one stumbles upon a potentially promising situation, you want to keep it to yourself and when your friends ask you about how got there you just say…. ‘ oooh, ni contact ba wishi!!’
KALU IS GREAT DESPITE GOVERNMENT WITHDRAWING SUPPORT KALU MANAGED TO FACILITATE THE TEAM CAMP IN SOUTH AFRICA AND LEAVE FOR MOZAMBIQUE…AM PROUD OF YOU!KAMANGA-SIMATA FUSEKE *****S WITH NO JOBS FAILED BANKERS AND FAKE ENERGY CONSULTANT KAMANGA….VIVA KALU
It’s great to see my favourite player Mbesuma on the pitch again-keep it up boy! Congrurations to the boys. Shame to RB and his useless minister of Sports.
# 7 Lekeni Sata Ateke
Training abroad (SA) is costly.. the lads could have trained at home and the monies paid can help improve our local sports, grounds and gyms withing Zambia. Lets develop over own stadiums and sports grounds and avoid large amount of monies leaving the country. Self reliance is better than dependant.
# 29 i dont know what you are on about. In this world without connections you cant go as far. We all know what connections can do. It is not hero worshiping its just praising . The British have Beckham we have Kalu there is nothing wrong with that. Please substatiate when you say Kalu is selfish
# 31 we dont have fitness facilities in Zambia as yet. Those can only be found in sports clinics or like the one at Pretoria University. Secondly Mozambique is on a different climatic type than ours so you are better of training in a climate similar to Mozambique so it was necessary to have our boys acclimatise
Training in SA was a good idea. Apart from better facilities the guys are more focused because of fewer distractions. Well done Chipolopolo
Ba coach…Mayuka pa bench???????????????????? And he claims to be running through Europe ‘checking’ on the boys…the boy is on fire and should be used in such important fixtures…
Libya and Mozambique have 4 points each and not the 3 pionts you have reported ba LT. In any case congrats to the chipolopolo boyz for keeping the eyez on the ball.
Only Ghana and Zambia managed to achieve victories away from home “Vintage Stuff”
Congrats Luck Msisika “mwanawakwitu-muchofe” s Young chipolopolo & Dario Boneti’s Seniors. I dont know how somebody can attribute the result to their “god” Galu. Its not the first time the national team has camped outside Zambia, so I dont see how galu should start getting praises instead of of directing it to the coaches who have been working under difficult situations.
Red card to Kamanga, Simaata, RB & NSCZ
#24, How did the big NSCZ sink so low?
#39 are u saying it is u who is a d.o.g.i.?
Obviously a win for both teams is good for mother Zambia, thanks to the players and the coaches. Sadly, it does not take away our falling football standards, neither does it dilute the problems at Football House. We literally struggled to beat Mozambique. A win comes as a face-saver for the embattled FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya, comments by his gullible fans notwithstanding. RB would similarly capitalise on his gullible audience when opening a project, ‘You see, we are a listening government. The people of Mumbwa have been crying for a hospital,’ – Lol. Crap.
Congrats to the two teams. Our eyes should be on the ball not the football politics happening back home.
I thought Mayuka, considering his current form, would hav been in the starting line up. Cris wz off form and needed to be substituted. Mbesuma wz gud but could not provide the much needed fire power up front. All in all, 3 points were gud 4 us, but the coach failed to read the game…
Congrats to Kalu and the boys but the ka mpelembe boy from Mozambique gave the hell
Congrats to Kalu and the boys but the ka mpelembe boy from Mozambique gave them hell
Congrats to Chipolopolo and not to admisntrators since they are busy fighting. the boys did us proud and they should keep up.
Football in the boardroom could not take place because the tow teams did not agree on the venue. The match officials assigned by FIFA to officiate failed even to write a report. If this faction had a heart for Zambian football they could have waited for next year for the sake of mother Zambia.By saying that i do not imply that Kalu administration is upright no,we all know what they have abrogated the constitution. Both camps no one wants to be inferior to the other, the wrong doings of the current administration can still be tabled even they leave office. What is happening now is that the local players been made to suffer because the league has not started and no allowance is been paid to them. Please Br.Kamanga take it that it your family like this money for a long period.

Keep it up boys.
The defence was porous well done mwene for all those saves.imagine playing with Camerron or Ghana with that kind of defence they would have easly equalised and score even more goals. The coach should work on the defence and make substitutes within 60minutes.all the goals came thr long balls not thr the usual one touch system which the chipolopolo are customed to, has bonetti introduced a new winning formular of long balls?.
Now thats how you grind out a win which could prove crucial in the Run in
Great Showing
THANX BA KALU 2 TEAMS WINNING THATS NICE.
where was jacob mulenga mbesuma weldone for that killer pass and changa thakx foe not making a mistake. mayuka mayuka mayuka weleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
congrats to chipolopolo and great kalu.Lwisha ignore yo critics and keep the ball rolling
#52, which game were you watching. My friend, our defence was terrific because they contained the mozambique chaps. Actually, it was the mid field that could neither provide the flow nor absorb the pressure posed by the opponents. The defence includes the goal keeper for your own information. In football, be effective in midfield and you will be the best team because these are guys who supply strikers for goals as well as minimising pressure for the defence.
Can some1 give a cv 4 Kamanga (Ba Shamrock)
Cool ba Zambia……….Bushe mwebantu mwalimona umungalato wa ba Chris???
well done guys….
#30: Government released K900million for this game!!
Prince Chiza wabe tole #12 u r just an armchair critic. The coach didn’t lose the game. He won away from home and you think you are better than him? Prove urself by coaching Amakumbi and winning the league. As 4 those crying about hero worshipping you want us to join bu PHD bwenu twakana ba ficolour. Great Kalu will always be great. All you haters will end up in Mental hospitals as Kalu continues to achieve.
