Vice President George Kunda has expressed happiness to see the revival of Luanshya district in terms of its economic activities as a result of the re-opening of Luanshya mines,Baluba and Mulyanshi copper mines which would create jobs for the local people .

Mr Kunda has also disclosed that Government would tar all Copperbelt roads including those in Luanshya district.

ZANIS reports that speaking during a public rally addressed at Nkulu Mashiba high school in Roan Constituency Tuesday afternoon, Mr Kunda said he was also happy to note that the people of Luanshya were coming up with many structures such as shops ,including a filling station.

The Vice President also observed that under the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD), the Agriculture sector had improved due to Government’s good agriculture policies resulting in continued maize bumper harvest and increased production of Rice and Soya beans among other cash crops.

Speaking during the same meeting, Copperbelt Province Minster Mwansa Mbulakulima said the Patriotic Front manifesto was a document of lamentations responding to the successes of MMD and that it was not a consistent and diverse paper which people should not take seriously because there was completely nothing in it .

Works and Supply Minister Gabriel Namulambe who is also MMDs National Elections Chairperson was confident that President Rupiah Banda would emerge victorious in this year’s elections.

Mr Namulambe said the MMD was a party with national character that had scored immense successes in infrastructure development and urged the people of Roan constituency to vote for the ruling party.

Earlier, Vice President Kunda visited house number 191/section 21 of Mpatamatu where he was born and raised as well as the market and Mpatamato high school where he completed his secondary education before going to the University of Zambia for further studies.

Mr Kunda said the visit to his former house signified that he had not lost touch with the area where he was born and raised up.

The Vice President urged the people of Roan to vote for an MMD candidate who would work closely with the President ,the Vice President and the ruling party and bring development in the area .

And during the same day, the Vice President handed over a school hall at Nkulu Mashiba high school which was rehabilitated through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit under his office at a cost of 124 million kwacha .

The Vice Preisdent wondered why Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili failed to repair a hall over a period of two years using money from Constituency Development Fund and described this as gross negligence.

  1. Mr Red Lips you are just wasting your time, that’s Hon. Kambwili’s headquarters. Just go to rural areas where you manipulate the iliterate. You are not sleeping because PF controls where there are large numbers of registered voters.
VIVA PF AND SATA FOR CHANGE COME 2011.
BEWARE OF SMALL TRIBAL PARTIES WHICH JUST SPLIT VOTES.
    PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  2. MMD should dissolve parliament as this is purely campaign with public funds. Its riduclous that they are doing this though its expected of RB intellingence level and upbringing from UNIP. This guy is purely a covert dictator that has no regard for the rule of law. What a shame

  3. kambwili is just a noise maker like his fellow homos..hahaha..how does he stay without the wife all these years..?

  4. Why must a proud father pay for his University graduating son only the last Tuition fees ?Because he sees future and will need help.Where were you Movement of Mad Destitues .DONT KUBEBA .War is here if you try to rig.Remember Egypt,Ivory cost,Algeria,Kenya etc.Zambia is next if you rig

  5. Luanshya is a sorry site, please stick to your word of building/repairing roads in that district Mr Veep!! Twachula!!!

  6. Luanshya used to be the most beautiful town on the copperbelt… the only town you could enter via a wall fence… those were the days…

  7. I also did my high school education at Mpatamatu Secondary School. Luanshya & Mpatamatu in particular used to be a great place to live in…I just hope & pray that all broken infrastructure (in whatever shape), will be repared & that Luanshya & nearby cities such as Ndola will be rejuvenated to their former glory regardless of the political party & Govt. in place.

  8. I feel very bad for Zambians that are celebrating these announcement from RB and team for supposed development. My job involves traveling in Zambia towns extensively. We travel on very bad and dangerous roads. Coming down to Luanshya every time I am working there there are plenty youths and old men coming to ask me if I am employing. There is huge unemployment and desperation among the residents. The so called opening mines are Tumtemba Chinese mines who have come with their own laborers. Suspected to have been prisoners from China. The newly Luanshya road was also a cheap Chinese road which is already falling apart. What warranty was on this road Mr Vice and Mr RB? Please be more concerned about the well being of the people you save and not your pockets and the Chinese
