Some students at Evelyn Hone College in Lusaka have resolved to support President Rupiah Banda in this year’s elections, saying he is the only credible presidential candidate with a heart for the Zambian youth.
The students, who have since formed a committee dubbed ‘Evelyn Hone Students 4 RB’, have also congratulated the MMD convention for electing Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister Moses Muteteka as the party’s national youth chairperson.
Committee vice-chairperson Mwiinga Chidamba said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday that after wide consultations and an assessment of the various leaders aspiring for the Republican presidency, the students had resolved to support Mr Banda.
“We have been analysing the various leaders that are offering themselves for leadership this year and we have noted that we have three front runners, these being President Banda, Mr Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND (United Party for National Development) and Mr Michael Sata of the Patriotic Front.
“After a careful assessment, we have decided that we should support President Banda because of the tangible developments that the Government is undertaking. It is not in dispute that the economy is growing and we are on the right track,” he said.
Mr. Chidamba said by attracting massive foreign direct investment into the country, the Government was creating job opportunities for youths and Zambians in general.
He said Zambia was safer under the leadership of President Banda.
“As youths ourselves and students we want a future that is secured and we are seeing what this Government is doing in this area.
“Our parents that had lost employment in the mines, for example in Luanshya, now have their jobs back,” he said.
Mr. Chidamba said Mr. Hichilema should consider working with President Banda and the MMD ahead of this year’s elections.
“As of Mr Sata we do not think he best represents the interests of the youth and the country. From what we know, we do not think that he is best suited to lead this country,” he said.

Hungry Hone Students for RB. What jobs have been brought back imwe ba chimbwi. Life is not just about having a job. You have to look at the condusiveness of the work place, job security, health, salaries etc. Just because the Chinese have reopened our mines does not mean heaven for our people. The biggest problem in Zambia is we accept mediocrity all because, as long as it feeds us. Set high standards mwe bantu
These are poor, hungry students looking for money. They hope to be recognised by RB and MMD so they can get something to fill their present poverty. At heart they know it’s “Donchi kubeba”.
IS THIS ANOTHER 46 CADRES CALLING THEMSELVES A GROUP THAT HAS POWER?….ITALIAN AND EVELYN HONE STUDENTS ARE EMBICILES.
inbeciles
Even slaves had jobs you kids,no wonder you are at hone, and most of you suckers don’t perform when we take you up in the industry
Sebana wikute is at play here. These chaps are a disgrace to their fellow youths who are crying for employment.
Hopeless punk student bodies.
This is unbelievable! Evelyn Hone College has been run down. It is an embarrassment. These chaps have no running water etc. These are just con men(students) trying to get some cash out of MMD. In the olden days, those chaps would not have spent a night at campus after making such pronouncements.
WHAT TH EFF……… another cooked up MMD headline
I was at hone myself, and we used to make such statements just over 50pin, the same group will support HH & MCS, we know these games. students are the worst political prostitutes, I remember back then Chiluba even paid for our accomodation so that we could stay behind to vote, i went home with the money.
Its amazing how Zambians take things for granted. Yes Zambia’s full potential may not have been attained buy show me any country apart from South Africa in SADC which has;
1. An industralised economy. (production of 570,000 tons of finished copper is not a small joke. Count for me 3 countries in the world that can do that)
2. A vibrant democracy
3. Vibrant media freedom ( all what you people say on this blog can never be said in any other country in SADC)
4. Good communication network
The list goes on…..
The Engineer my foot. Please learn to use the internet, Zambia is way down the list it is actually number 9 after the following; Chile, USA, Peru, China, Australia,Indonasia, Russia and Canada. All produce above 700,000 tonnes. Vibrant Democracy indeed with your RB trying to take over markets they dont own, Good communication network do you know that Zambia has the slowest internet link in SADC
Useless Braggadocio chaps. Mwawa bangwele!
Let them get the cash. its BONANZA. Newxt time will sapot HH and get the money.
useless bragadocio chaps. mwawa bangwele
DONT INVEST IN OLD MACHINES.. THINK ABOUT YOURSELVES TO TAKE OVER NOW, THEN YOU WILL BE HELPING IN BRIDGING THE AGE-GAP WITH THOSE BEHIND YOU…
# 11 Lady Gaga, thanks a lot for educating #10 Engineer. I was in Zambia recently, i went into an internet cafe. I spent 1 hr just to download 4 fotos, this was on a good fast Laptop. Talk about mobile communication – very very expensive!!
No. 11 and No. 15 i think am using English…. I asked you to tell me a country in SADC which is better than Zambia. I know English is a foreign language……
The truth is Fred Mmembe would not be allowed to publish in any of the other countries in SADC including South Africa. He would be in court everyday. Zambians have no appreciation of the countries achievements. It is one of the 10 fastest growing economies in Africa. Zambians also have no clue where the solution to the problems they face lies. How can any sane person remove a graduate from the University of Lund Sweden and then elect a Grade VII and expect a solution to your internet problems. Don’t think with your tribe my fellow Bembas. Think with your head.
So according to your reasoning the only person who has not been bribed is the one supporting your Grade VII. You can have your moron, .Thumbs up to Evelyn Hone.
Viva Evelyn Hone student body for your analysis we will support you.
Beans ilakola. Efyo beans icita ngawailya sana. Wait until you finish ici course thats when you ll realize how bad RB is. No job, no adverts. Ask whoever is paying for your tution fees how difficult it is to look for money and put you where you opening your mouth and say ponyonyonyoyo. *****
Attention: PF & its Kaponyas, does that mean Sebana wikute is ‘not’ at play with your party???? please help me understand. Puzzled Zambian.
What do you expect from PF kaponyas? They have eyes but they refuse to see. They have brains but they refuse to think. Their leader is a grade 2 failure. So what do we expect from suck mafala of people. Its very nice that PF will never form a government in this country of Zambia to promote homos and lesbians. Atleast students can even afford beans under RB!
honestly it never even clicked my mind that sata was really winning but from neo simutanyi’s poll, am getting real scared.
The kids want cash for ama rations because the wives of the husbands they have been sleeping with have tightened their belts.Eye ni easy cash bane and am sure the fellers since gayisim has been banned are finding it difficult to survive. This is what is called survival of the fittest. So don’t get surprised if students start hullucinating.
am scared to the bone
am scare of these polls
am really scared of the future should simutanyi’s polls materiallise
As much as Iam a PF supporter let these students support who they want. However they dont represent Hone. Its just the Slimes of Zambia full course on its arse-licking objectives. Really Sata when you win lets get rid of this newspaper forever! Dont keep it as a State owned propaganda newspaper. You will be wasting taxpayer’s money.
Ba Engineer go back to your blog at #11.You were actually talking about the World not SADC for copper production.Quote” An industralised economy. (production of 570,000 tons of finished copper is not a small joke. Count for me 3 countries in the world that can do that”
Of course a slip of letters on your keyboard can explain it but no need to lambast #12 and #15 when their argument is correct
